I currently own a VZ58, a russian and a chinese SKS as my semiautos. I want another VZ for my wife but that's for a while down the road.
I'm thinking about ditching the chinese SKS and getting a flat top upper T97. I read online about how awful the ergonomics are on these rifles and I want to know from you guys if they're actually worth buying. I would be using it for coyotes and shit, not just range time. The safety selector location doesn't really bother me too much.
How good/bad is the T97 FTU? I can't find a review online I trust, they all just tell me to buy a tavor and I'll be damned if I have an Israeli gun in my house.
pic semi related, my VZ. Just finished removing the paint off of it. Back to black now, folding stock and better foregrip in the mail.
>>27541862 Also I have taken all the paint off and the rifle looks pretty good but there is still some paint residue left on the gun in a few spots, looks like hard water residue but it is very resistant to removal. Is more varsol the answer or is there one last step in removing the paint that I'm not aware of?
>>27541983 d-don't be so negative surely Canada wouldn't meme itself to defeat
that stop harper meme rustles me irl. I'm sure you guys have seen the stickers on the stopsigns in your areas. People actually fall for that shit, it's a meme to not like him and to have no reason behind it other than to fit in.
well I guess it's time to start leaving pigs heads on the steps of certain places of worship
I have one with the original "carry handle" upper, this gun is total chinkshit. >bad safety and mag release >pushes bullets into the casing if you ride the charging handle >actually rips brass casings in half >bad sear design causing occasional double or 3 round bursts or failure to cycle Plus >plastic >plastic >plastic, even the trigger
I'm used to mine now but I never let anybody else shoot it.
Save your money, buy a gun not made by chinks (other than an M305, mine is awesome).
>implying you manchildren will be able to buy guns after Justin the savior of canada get elected the woman's rights enforcement squad will be around shortly after the election party to collect your firearms

>>27542678 Looks like you will be stuck hand loading. 2 1/2" 12 gauge is hard to find. There's an importer at the end. I would suggest just buying 2 3/4" 12ga hulls and cutting them down before loading. 2 3/4 hulls are way more common. I know shit all about reloading tho so hopefully someone else can help with that.

Conservatives are projected to win 35.8% of seats Liberals 39.7 NDP 23.7
fuck you liberal shitbags, fuck you
I counted the seat projections by riding to see what the end result would be. I think the cons fucked themselves by adding in those thirty new seats to parliament. Without those seats the cons and libs would have completely different numbers.
Personally I'm pissed that big cities are overrepresented while rural areas get fuck all, excuse me while I go for a drive down the roads here that haven't been repaired in 6 years and try to avoid the massive sections of road that washed out last week in the maritime rainstorm

what the fuck do the NDP bring to the table besides blanket handgun bans and irrelevancy? how is it even possible to own guns and vote for NDP? you would have to be a fudd, or someone who requires an instruction manual to get dressed in the morning.
>>27542814 there was underground access to it from the mansion or something.
>>27544859 >FUCK YOU CITY FAGS this, city people ruin everything, harper actually gives a shit about the countryfolk. we just want to do what we do but we have to abide by rules made for pavement apes and sharia law social justice warriors who require at minimum 3 daily doses of checked/witnessed white guilt followed by a tall glass of culturally enriched semen.
>>27542909 Not true, the measures that Mulroney put in place (including the GST) were the start of the cleanup. Chretien and Martin were just around to claim credit, steal from EI and screw the provinces.
As for Harper's deficit, it was far lower than the Liberal and NDP plans, and they just posted a surplus a year earlier than predicted. What nation of similar size and power didn't run deficits after the 2008 crisis?
>>27545155 >liberals taking credit for the internet boom years its not like harper carried us gracefully as fuck through a recession or anything. do you only look one way before crossing the street? i fucking bet you do.
>>27545511 It's funny how quickly people forget. The GST under Mulrooney was to clean up the mess that Trudeau Sr. had started. The Harper deficit was entirely from having a minority government. The Liberals and NDP threatened to form a coalition to take down the government unless more spending was done. Prior to that we had a mostly balanced budget. We would have had a balanced budget through the recession as well if it weren't for the opposition parties forcing through $50 billion in spending.
Just you wait all you psychopathic time bombs! Soon we will go door to door taking away all your evil guns and replacing them with a few dozen refugee's you have to feed and shelter out of your own pocket with nothing in return.
>>27546286 I used Krylon, it worked great tbh. It was black at the start and it hasn't faded at all.
Started with tan base coat nice and thick, added diagonal OD Green stripes, used laundry bag and jute twine as stencils. Sprayed tan over the stencils on the green parts and vice versa. Added a third layer of brown stencils here and there. That's about it, I did it loaded as fuck.
I actually just finished taking the paint off of the rifle. I decided it looks better without it. It's so beautiful in it's normal form.
>>27546371 Yeah i'm not having some faggot come try to hussle my guns and not give me a fat stack for what its worth. They dont want gun violence they are making a quick way to start it. I'll call all my fuckin guns in as stolen before i let someone strong arm me for them.
>>27546371 >implying in the time they give me to bring them in I wouldn't have planted explosives throughout my property and house and setup multiple firing positions and barricades, and flase cover that looks bullet resistant but isn't to trick police into hiding behind when they come to try and take them I don't care if I die they aren't going to bully me into doing what they want
>>27546164 >Why be interested in the most irrelevant 1st world country of the international community? curious american probably? a lot of americans, not even the liberal cuck versions, want to move to canada because of the rich hunting areas.
>>27546702 >say the gun was inside. they will likely take the car out of the lake, so leave the trunk open before jumping it over the bridge to leave trace suspicion that it was stolen or removed. either way youre not in jail and still have the gun hidden somewhere that isnt your house.
>>27546740 good luck friend, I painted mine and it turned out pretty great, see beginning of thread. Took the paint off though, its just so much prettier without the paint. It's like looking at a beautiful woman wearing dirty saggy clothing after a while. You know the babe is in there but she will need a varsol bath.
I'm just buying OD furniture and a folding stock. Colored furniture breaks up outlines on rifles good enough with our army so it's good enough for me.
>>27546782 Because one day, the chance will present itself. You may meet a cool friend who wont rat on your shit let you shoot on his land. Or maybe even in your lifetime the ATF will be disbanded or get someone competent as a leader and become more lax on its onset retardation. If not your lifetime then your childrens and then they can enjoy the gun. Or fuck who knows, maybe the price will skyrocket in a decade and you sell it and become 50k richer.
>>27546810 >tfw ordered a side rail for muh VZ because the tacticool craze got to me a bit >tfw sent it back the moment I put it on the gun I'll take toy like weight and a strangely thin profile over an optic any day.
>>27546851 >>27546851 I like the optic personally. I'd rather get a nice foregrip rail like the NEA one and a good red dot but I own the rear one with side rail. It isn't so bad tbh, I've taken my glass off at least a hundred times and it always holds zero. I've got good faith in the rails.
That being said I'm ordering the FAB defense handguards and putting a red dot on them in the near future. I like the scope a lot but until I get some truly awesome glass a red dot will do.
It's not like it's a long range weapon anyways, the round tapers off after 300m very significantly.
>>27546913 After using the vertical foregrip I can honestly say I fucking hate them. I never found they added stability or maneuverability to the rifle or me at all. I'm planning on trying out the angled attachment for foregrips though.
The buttstock seems a bit much to me and I've heard bad things about the dust cover scope mount thing there. I've read reviews that the bolts strip easily. I personally wouldn't want to put something on my rifle that prevented me form being able to take it apart easily. I already have that pistol grip and I will be getting the handguard in the pic though.
If you don't have the nice czech tube looking muzzle break with the six holes I highly recommend you get one, cut my muzzle jump down by like 2/3rds at least. Pic will probs be blurry as fuck but it's the best I have,
>>27547026 It was a $114 scope from Amazon I bought just to try out the rail. I plan on getting something much less ridiculous shortly. Honestly the height ratio doesn't fuck with me that much for close range shooting; it's about the same as shooting the C7 at work with the Elcan on top of it. At 25m most guys flick their sights to the 400m setting. I just aim off. Works for me I guess; as long as I'm fast and accurate enough to hit a man I'm happy.
>>27546982 >I personally wouldn't want to put something on my rifle that prevented me form being able to take it apart easily. since its closer to the bore than a side mounted rail it will hold a zero much more sharply.
>>27547103 I've never had issues with my side rail so I see no reason to fuck with it. I'd just really hate to need to carry around an allen wrench to clean my rifle after firing corrosive. It would get old very fast for me.
Protip: Gut some paracord and crush a .22 bullet with pliers to be a skinny tube. Insert it in to your gutted paracord and melt the end. On the other end grab a needle and thread and sew a loop, melt the loose end.
You now have a boresnake, I've done the same thing with a copper brush for great effect, split the twists and ran the paracord through. I keep the brush and patch bore snakes in my chest rig along with basic cleaning gear. I highly recommend this, fuck cleaning rods.
>>27547208 >I'd be interested to see if it holds zero after a proper cleaning man yeah but doesnt the side mount bolt in as well?, it looks close enough to the return mechanism to have to be removed when cleaning.
>>27545842 Except the Liberals had years of budget surplus when we were 77 cents on the US dollar. Meanwhile at nearly par Harper can't even break even. Now that oil prices are down since he sold out to China, people will see how much of a fraud Harper really is. Pray to your Lord and saviour that Harper doesn't get elected, or that fat fuck will prorogue parliament and flush another few hundred million taxpayer dollars down the toilet on another election, because manchild can't stand not having his way.
>>27547421 >Except the Liberals had years of budget surplus when we were 77 cents on the US dollar. >>27543145 If you are nearby to Elwood Epps in Orillia you should give them a shot. I wasn't completely sure what I wanted or needed but found myself completely supplied and wondering what had just happened within like 5 minutes. They are well supplied and know their shit.
>applied in march, checked box because of ADD meds >talked to many different people from CFP on phone, almost all gave me different answer regarding medical history >last time i called the guy was a completely rude dickhead, claimed i would absolutely have to wait for the cfo to send me a medical release form and take it to my doctor >stopped by alberta cfo office in edmonton two days later, woman there not sure if i'd need the form or not, but said she'd get the cfo that handles northern alberta to check it out because i'd been waiting 5 months by then >4 days later get a call from the cfo, quick phone interview, i just told the truth and corroborated what i'd included in the letter sent with my application >approved 5 minutes after i hang up
>>27547801 i was worried it would take me that long too, i would call every 3 weeks or so. one of the nice ladies on the phone actually tried to revoke it for me so she could change the medical history thing for me but it just been sent to a different person or something and was too far along to change.
my second time going into the office in person (right before the approval phone call) I had my gf with me and the lady was really friendly so maybe that helped
>>27541913 Diagnosed anxiety and depression. I was undergoing treatment while i applied for my pal. I currently own 8 guns legally. It took 6 months and they called my references but I got it. Dont worry
>>27541971 Fuck the NDP. I mean, fuck all of them, but the NDP and their gun grabber bullshit in particular. We need a complete reevaluation of firearms law in Canada. Most of it is just illogical as fuck, with bans handed out to very specific models because "SCARY". I know my province's CFO personally, and they agree.
>>27547849 If you report them stolen they investigate how it was stolen from you, question you about who m system have done it, and after words just wait until a gun with that serial number shows up in which case they arrest you for having your gun stolen
>>27548419 as nice as that would be I think the best were going to get is a conservative minority then some point a couple of months from now libs and NDP will pull some horse shit to force another election.
>>27547421 In other words, the Liberals had an easier ride, because the lower dollar meant that our exports to the US were more competitive. That meant we could sell more to them and therefore balance the budget more readily. Also, when the Liberals were in power, China was still facing the affects of the Asian currency meltdown, and hadn't become the destination of choice for all manufacturers just yet. That's another thing the Conservatives had to fight- while facing an at par dollar.
So all you've managed to establish is that the Conservatives had a much harder fight to balance the budget (and they couldn't pull the "raid the provincial transfers" or "fuck EI" trick like the Liberals did)
I hope he does get re-elected, and that you examine the real facts more carefully in future.
>>27548555 >I'm going to be up watching the election results for sure. Its anybody's guess who wins.
I hope nobody wins. I want a 126-120-124 split so not a single fucking MP can afford to miss a vote. Lets see whose MPs actually care about the country enough to actually show up to parliament. Let there be real debate when no party can shut it down. Let's have it all out on the floor. Make each party compromise itself over and over until the bare lies shine through. I want them eating each other's shit with a fork by the third month - no later!
Wish Canada will go back to having the FAC from the 70s. No restricted class, no registration, no mag limits or att. Or any of that shit.
But it'll never happen, and gun laws will probably end up being more strict in the future thanks to the decline of the white population and younger voters becoming more leftists. liberals literally had Australian-style gun laws as being the goal on their site before they removed it.
>>27552940 Ahh the 70s.. My dad use to own an AC556, a sten, and a fuck load of various 32 caliber pistols and revolvers. Lost them all in fire. And no registration means he can prove he used to own them so he can't get a prohibted license.
>>27552940 >my fagbook feed is constantly flooded with shit like "I voted! Let's get Harper out of there!" and other anti-Harper bullshit
I don't even care that much about Harper, but the constant "Harper is literally worse than Hitler" maymay is so annoying, that I actually would have voted Conservative out of sheer spite if it weren't just our firearms on the line, as well.
post your face when the fate of the nation will be decided over "SDOB HARBER!!!" and "le dark lord Harber going away bardy XD" social media memes >you know 90% of the advance poll vote are these overnight convert cunts who read two blog articles on facebook a week ago, shared it a billion times and now they're acting like they didn't shape their views yesterday based on a single piece of propaganda, but forever been a vehement opponent to the tyranny which is Harper Conservatives
>>27556704 anything to reaffirm their bias >>27556785 I had someone on mine that literally posted "if you are voting Harper, let me know so I can unfriend you" (was phrased in a more smarmy way, but that was the gist) >so I told the bitch if she hates democracy, diversity of opinion and freedom of ideas that much, she has my blessing to unfriend
To all you poor bastards with anti-harper trolls shitting up your feeds, tell those jackasses about their "glorious saviour Trudeau"'s plan to make millions off their backs by crminialising loads of the more available pain meds so he can cash in on his giant pot factory in Smiths Falls.

>>27557085 "dude weed lmao" is the only part of his platform (other than running deficits) that is in any way clearly defined
AND STILL, even there he's got no clue beyond "legalize it", stating so himself on CBC, trying to spin having no plan into prudence, saying he wants to legalize it and then wait and see, observe, do studies to figure out how to best tax and regulate... WTF??!!
you want to legalize it? fine. but having no plan for doing so? there are plenty of places on Earth that have done it years ago and you can study them, do your research, run some models based on that research and what you know about the economy, demographics, etc. of Canada and then make a plan from the combined data you have. you can wait and see if that plan needs to be tweaked when you are implementing it, but just going "fuck my shit up, fam", legalizing it and seeing what happens is moronic at best
>>27558760 as a soldier I unironically will tell you guys that our hi powers are fucking shit. The barrels are so loose they rattle, the frame/slide is loose as fuck too. We are lucky to get a 40cm grouping with a full mag at 20 meters. The army bought too many of them in WW2. We are still going through our old WW2 stock on them. All the army did to fix the failing pistols was buy us new Italian made magazines that work pretty decent until the feed lips get touched the wrong way. Then it proceeds to become a liability to us by jamming every fucking 2nd round. Like multiple feed kind of jam, full out drop your mag and hold the slide back and shake the fucking pistol kind of jam. It's ridiculous that they expect us to protect ourselves with those pistols
The new ones we're supposed to get? They only went to the military police. Not enough new pistols to go around.
When we go to the range we don't even try for accuracy with the things, there is no point.

>>27558840 no it isn't. These people are winning because no one speaks out. One person does make a difference.

In the recent provincial elections only three of us voted, everyone else was convinced that their vote wouldn't count. It's up to us to make sure people vote. The smart people are more likely to be disillusioned about their power and who can blame them? The left has been browbeating us in to submission since we were children.
Stand up, say something and make a difference. It is your civic duty. People fought and died for your right to vote. Don't like the parties on the ballot? Make your ballot get rejected. Add a new box and write "X sucks cock" on it or something. Rejected votes still get counted.
Just fucking say something man. The world needs people like us to speak our minds. More than that we need it from each other. Our existence is lonely, we all need to know we aren't alone.
>yfw being right wing in canada makes you prime for /r9k/
>>27558878 Yup. Not even enough for all the MPs. Get the fuck out while you have the chance. Run from this army man, it is falling apart. 70% of the guys in my unit are leaving after their first contract and it's for a fucking reason. All of us hate it. The job is broken. I know you won't hear me out because you're all pumped up and high on motivation right now but unless you're a fucking cuck you're going to hate the job. The guys are great but the job is total shit. I know you're going to need to experience it on your own but just remember this man, Embrace the liquor, it will be your only salvation. I'm serious.
>>27559179 you get my point though, I'm obviously speaking about my political opinion. Anything that goes against the narrative is not allowed and the people who think against the social narrative don't feel like they make a difference far too often.
Whatever your view point is have the responsibility to be a properly informed voter who has considered all parties in your area. Consider what the MP can do for your region. This isn't the states, we aren't electing a president, we are picking the MP that would be best for our riding. Too many people forget this and base everything off of hating harper or trudeau or mulcair.
I will never say people should not vote, even if the majority of views are contrary to mine all it means is it is time for me to move to a place where my desires are properly represented in the house of commons. Right now I'd be content with moving to Alberta.

in some cases, if it looks like a completely moronic circle jerk, you might want to not bother. in others, just leave an intelligent but calm and polite comment pointing out their particular brand of retardation. it won't convince the idiots getting off on having the "Harper is a Nazi" as this week's identity, but it might change the mind of someone just stumbling onto the point and thinking it's clever off the bat, only to see yours and taking the time to re-evaluate the original.
sometimes you just gotta pick your battles though, there might be no point wasting breath on people who will fight you for hours online but will most likely not get off their asses to vote on the elections day (justifying it with the fact that it'll be ok, they did their part in "raising awareness" so they don't have to go, because they "inspired enough people who will go vote Harper out anyway" lol)

honestly, I'm betting on the cons; while the Ndp and lib numbers are paper-close in polls, they tend to be all talk and no dick, ESPECIALLY ndp voters, whereas the CPC actually got better percentages than the poll ones in past elections; so I honestly think they might cinch it for infinite lib tear works

If it weren't for Mulcair's idiot gun law policies, and his retarded cabinet, I'd vote NDP. Fuck that French fuck and everything about separatist yet oddly socialist shit. People are entitled to the sweat of their own brow and shouldn't be punished for being prosperous.
But here's the thing about Conservative; >tax theft >the middle and lower class pay most of the taxes, proportionally
What is the truth behind the tax theft thing? As much as Canada's gun laws need to improve, there's no way I'll vote for a goddam thief.
>>27552940 Its the stupid education system, I was brainwashed starting at elementary school all the way up through highchool. It wasn't till i started browsing /k/ did i realize what the SJW's have been doing
>We are an immigrant country >We are a multi cultural country >You don't like us taking random ISIS recruits and giving them free shit? fucking NAZI
>>27563226 There is no reason not to legalize weed, so personally I'm glad its occurring, since if it gets legalized, the Conservatives won't be able to repeal it since there would be a serious shitstorm. Further, Harper needs to leave and get replaced by somebody more competent. People hate him, not the party. If he left they'd stand a better chance of winning the election.
>>27565196 I don't want to be understood, just left the fuck alone. >>27565244 It never worked on me apparently, I always despised having French shoved down our throats, and our Social Studies were largely "duh natives dindu nuffins, duh white man ruined everything".
I just learned something interesting from the Alberta CFO office. I need a range membership to buy a Tok, right? But all the ranges around Edmonton are at least $100/year. But I can buy one in BC for $30/year and still satisfy the cunts, since apparently they don't care where it is. >Me: So, does the range have to be in Alberta >Him: N-no, but you'll only have certification to that range or something blah blah I'm shooting innawoods regardless, just let me buy the fucking thing.
>>27546702 Is even that necessary? If you're a cityfag, couldn't you just say you were walking them to the range when you were mugged? Then just describe a generic black guy. They couldn't really contradict your story, and if they ever found your funs, they are already considered stolen, and therefore not really traceable to you.
>>27565303 >the Conservatives won't be able to repeal it since there would be a serious shitstorm. >They wanna make weed illegal again?! WHAT THE FUCK MAN >The Liberals made those kinds of guns illegal? Meh, I don't really care... >Guns cause death, like, duuh? So it's probably a good thing >Dude pass another blunt! It's Wednesday and now that I've graduated high school, there's nothing for me to do but smoke up with my buds in my parent's basement all day!! xD
I know it's been pointed out before, but that double-standard when it comes to guns and drugs makes my blood boil.
>>27567783 I'm not that guy BTW, but there is a difference between a tool/weapon and a substance where the entire goal is to fuck around with your brain to the point where it doesn't function properly temporarily (or permanently) for fun. I couldn't care any less about weed other than the fact that I can't stand that smell. Holy shit it's bad.
