Convince me to buy a Shotgun.
Shotguns are not absolute, they penetrate well (especially slugs pic related, 00 buck is small holes around it ) they can shoot up to 45yards which is more than a enough for any citizen. Plus they're cheap and reliable as fuck. Also versatile as fuck.
>any good at all
You need to die.
I want to into shotgunz, preferably sxs. What should i look for, brands, etc? Are Stoeger coach guns a shit? Looks like something i'd like and pretty inexpensive. Everything else i see is 2x the price or more.
Because they suave as fuck.
I second this post, and add on the fact that they're fun as hell.
I got one as a gift, but I wasn't too jazzed about it until I really started fucking around with the thing. Then I got pic related and started practicing quick reloads and the fun increased.
Shotguns are great.
Underbarrel version when? I want one.
As we are talking shotguns here, remember the story of the anon that put some napalm or something on a slug and put fire at a forest?
What else can you lead a slug with to make bretty gool stuff? No shotfuns here
The only way for me to do that would end your opportunity to actually buy one... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOoUVeyaY_8
If SHTF in Europe I would use my M590A1.
>ammo is fucking everywhere, even the most anti-gun countries sell shotguns.
>rugged as fuck
>can shoot a shit ton of different types of shells
>Easy to find parts for it
Tell me why I shouldn't own a shotgun?
Shotguns are pretty ass for SHTF, because the ammo's fucking huge.
>It can shoot lots of different loads!
Good luck carrying around those bolo and dragon's breath loads.
I'm still thinking of getting a shotgun, though. I'm going to get an Adler A110, mainly just to piss off the antis.
Unlike other people I don't think I will be a one man army that will need to carry 400 magazines and 2 tons of ammo because I will fight groups of people head on.
I can carry 200 slugs with no problem and that's more than enough.
Pistol brace master race
The Illinois state police that are at my University cruising around have Rock River AR-15's. Just saw the shitty quad rail handguard that rra produces in house and realized what it is.
Dead serious though that ATF letter bummed me out. Why do they have to ruin everything?
>Hey, sir, come look at this! This thing shoots soda cans using 5.56 blanks! They look like they're having fun!
>NO FUN ALLOWED
In general, they are cheap and reliable. All this MAH SLAV RELIABLILITY, MAH REVOLVER RELIABILITY bullshit doesn't hold a candle to a shotguns reliability.
They are more than capable of hunting birds, small game, deer, or even larger game. While the concept of multiple ammunition types is absurd to utilize in a HIGHSPEEDNODRAGOPERATOROPER8TING scenario, having a single ~200 dollar gun that can take almost any game in the USA is really handy.
In a self defense scenario a load of buckshot will kill a man. There isn't any question or debate, there isn't any "a 9mm might expand but a .45 can't shrink" argument bullshit. If you hit a mans chest region with a load of buckshot, that person is having a very bad day.
In the event that MECHAHILLARY consumer of firearms is elected by the Illuminati it is unlikely that shotguns will be banned or lost in tragic boating accidents.
Also, shooting clay pigeons is insanely fun.
The inertia system isn't that new, the first inertia shotgun was the Sjorgren from around 1899. But pump shotguns have the advantage that they can shoot a large variety of loads that would either overload or fail to cycle a semi auto, they can also handle oddballs like short mini-shells and crap like flares. Also the price point ensures they'll hang around forever, you can buy a Hawk 982 for about 180 and you could pound nails with one of those damn things.
>Break action shotgun for brush survival
>Slugs for moose
>00 Buckshot for Mr Bear
>.22 adapter for everything else.
You can carry 12 shells, 12 slugs, and like 300 rounds of .22lr for a single or double shot break-action all day long. That's not even all your pockets.
25 round boxes of shells aren't hard to carry. If shtf im taking at least 5 boxes of 00 and a box of slugs, probably some birdshot for hunting too. Thats a lot of ammo and not a shitload of weight. Add a glock and a few topped off mags and you're set. Anything from 3m to 300m, you can kill.
I have an 870 btw
Nah bud, Bear to Bird, theres nothing in NA I wouldnt take with a 12g. Maybe some african animals like fucking Elephants and Rhinos you might need some high velocity rounds to penitrate suficently. However anything fleshy you can still take with a well placed slug, Lions are generally too big for a 12g (heart is a solid 12 inch in from any side, if you even know where to shoot to find it) but you can still spine shot them with some 00 buck, and they are down. Its not a clean kill, but its a kill. elephant and rhino are all i wouldnt feel confident against that i can think of.
>Bypass it by adding a red dot
Take the ammo out of the sling, it will just fall out anyways and you wont look like a faggot.
Some would bounce because they hit flat, the rest would stick in the skin half way or penitrate 3/4inch and piss it off. Unless you shoot it in the belly somehow you would have better luck with a slug.
However you can go for the rear legs with a slug and just get it down and bleeding then pump slugs into it until it dies if you just really want it dead and dont care about being humane. If you go right for the heart it wont do shit and the fucker will run away before you can kill it.
poorfag desu. What would you recommend once I can afford something real?
There actually is a gap under the receiver rail. you can use the bead just fine once the battery dies.
I shoot down geese, ducks and and other birds with a svt, sks or mosin.
My friend gets mad since im shooting into the sky, with a rifle. But 3/4 of my shots hit a bird.
I should probably buy a shot gun.
Shotguns are a very versatile and functional weapon.
They offer many different load types and options per gauge making it a relevant sporting, hunting, or self defense option anywhere.
Often very affordable and lots of aftermarket availability for popular models the shotgun remains a formidable option in the firearm world, filling a truly unique and irreplaceable role
Maverick 12G's sell for like 300$ buy one.
I understand the concern, and realize I probably shouldn't do it.
But it's northern Ontario way past Muskoka, there's mostly wilderness around me, and only a dirt road behind me. I have never seen another person there.
A 12ga (pump) shotgun is the most versatile weapon you can own. They habe incredible utility, are durable, and very cost efficient.
Reloading shot, slugs, and buck shot with random things around the house is also hella fun and very Fallout-esque
I honestly wanted this as a net launcher for humanely catching animals and removing them from my property without harming them, because killing pests is illegal now in my county.
Now, because of the ATF, I'm forced to use a club in order to knock them unconscious and hope I don't hit the possums hard enough that they get a broken bone.
No answers huh?
No salvboos want to chime in with a saiga or ks?
No britbong double barrel for the queens army?
Asians didn't even try beside norinco reselling the trenchgun
Naziboos even claimed it was a war crime
What's the best option of the super budget shotguns
Yeah, once. The point of quality shotguns in that they go bang repeatedly and reliably. That being said, you listed those from best to worst in my opinion. Pardner Pump is the only one that I would never ever trust enough to use outside of an emergency.
Of course assault rifle is a real term. It refers to a select fire rifle chambered in an intermediate cartridge. No one ever disputes that.
You're probably thinking "assault weapon", which, no, isn't a real term.
I know that, my point was that your average /k/ sperglord does not. They're also the most common group to cry CODBABBIES GET OUT REE.
What makes you think attachment is not a valid term?
>"Let's make things even harder for the people that live here by punishing them for killing pests".
Where the fuck are the rational human beings who get off their ass and solve the problem?
I'm not going to lie here. I genuinely thought it was French. My retard brain managed to confuse Franchi and France in my memory at some point.
Problem was already solved, the issue was the idiots making it used a regular barrel instead of a plugged one and you were able to take the cup/tube off giving you a 2"-3" barrel smoothbore pistol/SBS.
Because no one outside of Call of Duty is going to seriously use an under mount shotgun. They've moved back to standalone ones for door breeching, just like they've moved back to standalone grenade launchers for the most part.
870 Police models and Wingmasters are fine and dandy, but cost around $600 and up.
$300 870 Express models use shitty oven/BBQ paint for the finish that rusts with a moist glance, and the actions are gritty as hell and unfinished.
I regularly hit 80-90+% of clays with my vepr during sporting clays, skeet, and trap. There's no reason you cant use one if you want.
There's objectively better shotguns for clays, but shooting something I enjoy feels so much better to me than using a regular shotgun. I shoot better with the vepr than my 870 anyway.
Just going to chime in on the Remington is shit debate and say I own a circa 2012 Remington Express and it has worked flawlessly but the finish is absolute shit. CLP has salvaged it but the thing rusted right after cleaning just sitting in its case.
Powerful, fun and ammo everywhere.Cleaning up the shitty molding marks on my new 12 gauge.
Guiz looking at this used mossman persuader 8 shot at $300. Is this a good price
Are their any PGO Autoloaders out there? I'd love to have one and set it up with a Talon style grip and a 14in barrel
Also what was that shotgun that everyone was saying was the closest thing we'd get to an IRL Bolter a while back?
The UK has fielded shotguns for decades now.
Most recently in Afghan with the Benelli M4 Super 90 designated the L128A1, which is usually given to the pointman with a mix of buck and slugs.
Coach guns are just for funs, imo.
If you're going to get a break action then I suggest just getting a single barrel youth model; they're about $150.
Otherwise just get yourself a Mossberg 500 or a Saiga or something. RE: Mossberg 500: They have some with swappable barrel lengths, but the end of the magazine tube is welded so you can't extend it. I'm sure if you hunt around you'll find something that'll give you let you get both of those features.
In general, just avoid getting a gun that's already tacticooled out; you have no idea what quality parts they've stuck on it, but you've got a good idea of how heavily it's marked up.
An appropriately loaded 12 gauge has a higher chance of killing whatever it's aimed at with a single shot than pretty much any rifle round south of .50 BMG. Add to that their usually low price and often humble appearance and no, they're not obsolete at all.
These threads are dumb, bait or not.
they're brutal at close range for home defense and won't over-penetrate your target
>Recommends Stevens 320 over a 870.
You are literally retarded, do not shoot shotguns much, and probably a faggot.
The roughest Express with piss-yellow stained birch stocks, a chamber like a 1941 M91/30 left in a field for 30 years, and an extractor hot-glued together would objectively be better than the best 320.
Got a Beretta Teknys for $700 today, saw they normally went for $1300-1600. Anyone have experience with it?
did I do good?
won't cycle anything but high brass but that's all I use
Shotguns are the real American weapon. Have you ever heard of a nazi using a shotgun? Didn't think so.
Just look at this 590 I have. Only con I can think of is I want a different fore end. Love the simplicity and ease of takedown. Stupidly simple to clean and always goes bang
Just bought a new 11-87. The first 100 rounds broke it in and now it's shot hundreds without skipping a beat. Honestly more reliable than my buddies benelli. Thinking about putting the 10rd magazine on it and making it my new race gun.
British Infantry typically has a gun with a Benelli M4 in a patrol on Afghan deployments. Other than that British Armed Forces has the Remington 870 but that's only used in a special forces capacity. Back in the Malaya Emergency we used the Remington Model 11
I have one of these. Great choice for someone on a budget. Was my first firearm. Obviously you should save for a better gun but if you want something cheap the 320 will do just fine.
