When you see someone draw a certain firearm what conclusions do you come to based on their choice of firearm?
SKS: Poor fag who wanted a AK
Noguns who bought the cheapest gun they can find to feel included in board culture
Wanted a black scary gun but couldnt actually afford one
Wanna be operator
>WASR's with original style wood furniture
Actually believes their shitty romanian AK is some kind of authentic glorious Tula Russian AK-47 that won the cold war
>Any gun with Magpul furniture
Sensible hard working man that wants an upgrade without being a gluttonous pig
>ARX or SCAR's
They didnt get enough attention on AR threads so they bought a special snowflake gun
>Constantly talks about "knock-down power". >Says shit like "I only have to shoot once".
>Has never done any practical/tactical training with their weapon.
Dont get me wrong the 1911 is a classic and fun to shoot, but its an obsolete weapon. If you disagree Ill ask you this: Would you take an M1 Garand over a modern assault rifle onto the modern battlefield?
the only thing anachronistic about it is its magazine capacity. More rounds in more modern pistols did not come about from some technological breakthrough, manufacturers just warmed up to making the grips a lot fatter.
>Go to a party
>Start talking to host of party about guns
>He says, "I have an awesome gun."
>Pulls out .22lr AR
I look at it like, the fuq?
>being this butthurt that a 100 year old design can still relevant
>comparing unrelated weapons to justify his reeeeeee
cool opinion bro.
Barely. It's like a Browning Auto 5, it's pretty much outclassed in every category but a lack of sweeping innovations in the past 100 years in this category keep it relevant.
I agree with you, but I'm not sure if insulting the M-14 variant in favor for a M-16 variant is a way to get me to keep agreeing with you. I mean, yea, M-16/M-4s are lighter, but I like reliability too. It depends on what your position on the battlefield is.
If I was in a team, I'd take a suppressed M1a outfitted with a scope and a bi-pod over an AR if I held a DMR position. All depends on how you are using it. Wouldn't say its obsolete. 1911, though, kind of is. I'd much rather a Sphinx
...And a supressed m1a with a scope and bipod isn't a M1 Garand. Are you illiterate, drunk, don't know the difference between an M1 Garand and an M1a, or just obstinate enough to pretend to be stupid?
I try not to judge based on what guns someone is using. Different strokes for different blokes and all that.
I'll definitely make a judgement based on the accessories or engravings they have on their guns though.
>Moldy labia on the slide
Easily manipulated by marketing, probably bought chink tacticool knives.
Competitive shooters. Three-gun comps are exactly what they sound like: a rifle drill (usually an AR), a shotgun drill (typically a 930 or Versa Max, sometimes the odd Vepr 12), and a pistol drill (all over the place, but usually dolled-up race guns).
Okay, let's do all of the common /k/ guns!
Mosin-Nagant: Someone that doesn't have a lot of money who wants a cheap hard-hitting bolt action rifle with a militaristic appeal.
SKS: Same as above, just for semi-automatic.
Probably has slav fantasies.
AK47/74: Someone who wants a solid combat rifle on the cheap side that they don't have to maintain much. Also may have slav fantasies.
AR15/AR10: Someone who wants an accurate modular rifle that they can upgrade and play around with. May or may not have operator fantasies.
SCAR L/H: Probably has a ton of money, or just makes poor financial decisions. Most likely person to have delusional operator fantasies. Not a bad rifle though.
AUG/TAVOR: Has a hard-on for bullpups. Probably a very practical person. Probably also has operator fantasies.
Glock: Favors reliability and magazine capacity over all else. Pretty reasonable and economically efficient. Probably brags about Glocks a lot. Also probably flames 1911 fans on the internet.
1911: Someone who really enjoys the way that 1911's handle. Is either a reasonable person, or an idiot that perpetuates bullshit like ".45 stopping power" or "if you need more than x amount of bullets, you can't aim and shouldn't have a gun!" There is no in between. May also flame Glock fans on the internet.
>suppressed M1a outfitted with a scope and a bi-pod
Cool attachments bro! Im doing akimbo G18's + grip
>SCAR or ACR
Slight possibility of being an actual operator, especially if paired with a beard and a career they can't talk about. Usually just daddy's money, though.
If they're over 50 and don't have retarded tacticool shit all over it, they might actually be able to shoot.
More money than sense.
>Generic guns (mostly stock AR, Mossberg, normal-ish Glock)
Can't really judge someone based solely on that, seeing as how pretty much everybody with a decent collection owns at least two of the above
>James Bond fan
>An AR for a fudd
>Agree with OP
Also, what >>27769615 said.
I actually like the term Molon Labe - in it's original usage, but that's because I'm a big fan of history and Laconic phrases altogether.
That being said, agreed.
Get your fucking positivity out of here! This thread is about shitting on people and their choices, not respecting their decisions and acknowledging the positive merits that different guns offer.
Generally pretty cool pocket pistols, Bond fan or not. Kinda unrelated but since it came up, what are some nicer and more modern pistols than a PPK? Visual appeal is important too, I don't really care much for something that just looks like a glock with a grooved grip or something.
Oh don't get me wrong, I like a lot of guns on the list. That's just my general perception without being given any outside information on the individual at hand.
Also, that's a really broad question. Do you mean in the same visual style of the PPK, same size, what?
either a beginner (17), a wannabe cop (22-23), or someone who really knows their shit (20, 21, 42-3, 19)
Someone who will argue endlessly about how their gun is the end-all be-all of finely crafted weapons, even though the 1911 is a living tribute to the fact that manufacturing is everything and design is nothing
someone with more money than brains who loves browsing BLACKED and repeatedly google image searching Vining
>HK USP Compact
The benevolent man, the honest man, a true renaissance man. Or someone who loves EDC threads and circlejerking other HK owners
someone not to be fucked with
"to let the world be"
The ultimate CC'er. They can do mozambique drills faster than a delta operator and could sneak their gun into the white house if they wanted to. I guess.
generally an autist who will argue to the death that Brosnan was the best Bond
The flipside of Shield owners. Generally a nice manchild with a cool-looking gun.
An asshole who bought a gun because it was the ugliest thing they could find/it was a living meme, respectively
Will never hesitate to argue how much better their pistols are than the FNS/FNX line
Will never hesitate to argue how much better their squishy pistols are than M&P's. "M-muh temperature and UV"
Guaranteed to have put <100 rounds through their $1200 gun. The worst type of gun owner.
A poor fuck who strangely enough is likely to have burnt enough powder in their gun to make Feinstein's hairs stand on end.
Currently getting shoulder surgery
won't ever shut up about how they own "the best AK"
Often found in abandoned buildings in the middle of nowhere playing with their foreskins
Guaranteed to have put well over a year of their lives into videogames and movies
when everyone buys an AR, how will I stand out?...
"I want and AR, but I want it to look less scary. Nevermind how it works"
one of those people you never want to meet in real life. Nice person, there's just the suspicion that they might try to drug you and smell your asshole while you're passed out
The man that prefaces all his posts with "Inb4 jewgun"
someone who thinks $140 is a reasonable amount of money to spend trolling /k/
heavy, but cool. my old shooting buddy has one. Of course the guy lives in the middle of no ware ranting about how the commies toke his home land. nice guy, just odd about the short shorts
ITT: Pretentious faggots
Although you are kinda right, OP. I bought my SKS because of the innawoods maymay and because I liked the internals better. Also by the time I placed an order for a gun, AKs would have been banned in my state.
unless you can snag a metal frame Kahr, the sig p238 is all that really comes to mind. most smaller metal pistols are blocky as fuck, just like the plastic ones, no more elegant german curves.
"Chavez, the orders just came in from Six that you and Rainbow will be taking down terrorists in the sovereign nation of "mom's kitchen.' We need you to extract the pizza rolls with zero casualties"
"1911's are too mainstream, but Hi-Powers are too expensive" Fear not, friend. We have just the hipster gun for you. Comes with zero finish inside so you know it's cool.
Only trusts "real steel" when CC'ing. That or just enjoys the sound it makes when it clanks against his kek cock cage while appendix carrying
"the fuck is PDR-91? A what? A PTR? Is that a Honda? CETME? no, CETYOU asshole! What do you mean the're cheaper? This is an HK goddamnit!"
Generally buys furniture from IKEA and can't figure out how to build it. Has never seen a hand tool in his life. Only figured out what the fuck a BCG is after he bought his rifle. Likes: Magpul, Eotech, AFGs, and canted back-up sights
Dislikes: building anything
Wanted a USPc, but couldn't find the extra $150. Doesn't have a pinkie finger and gets off on forward slide texturing. Likes how the short grip doesn't irritate his "concealment rolls"
Overpaid for a CZ P09, underpaid for a SIG. Owns the entire TLR light series so his tactical light can match his mood while he's switching between /k/ and /d/ tabs
What about an SKS D in a yugo stock? Debating putting a yugo bayonet or a M44 bayonet in it.
This is the same price as an AK, some states more.
SKS's aren't bad OP.
I would wager most SKS's in the US are more accurate than AK's here.
Even without taking AK mags, it has some added utility. Plus less hassle of mags everywhere, and it still has the cleaning kit, rod, and bayonet we love.
A man who exists solely to watch fudds crawl around on their hands and knees to collect his brass only to for them to realize his gun folded that tasty brass into origami. A sadist.
In between BASE jumping, railing strippers with no rubber, and drawing down on cops in Dunkin Donuts, this daredevil likes to buy CZ75B copies no one's ever heard of so he can save $150 for HIV tests and send that money to everyone's favorite shady Turkish arms manufacturer
Anyone who has a firearm who says "not relevant in combat." More thank likely has never been in combat or will ever be
Poorfag, probably still lives with their mom, has a neckbeard, asbergers, and an mlp collection. Posts on /k/ about how ROOSIYA STRONK and how mosin is a top tier milsurp and that they own it because its good, not because it was the cheapest thing at big 5 and their mom only gave them 100 bucks in spending money
If bought before 2008, was too poor to afford an AR/decided to put the extra money toward x39 spam cans
If after, watches 80s action movies and thinks hurr ak never jam ultimate killing machine aura of intrinsic deadliness like the 90s media and lord of war told me
>Other tactical rifles/pistols over 2k
I played CoD:MW and this is the best one in the game so I maxed out my credit card.
>Big 5 Remchesterberg 870

>How about a guy who owns a RIA/Armscor 1911 .45?
>A) Someone who legitimately believes that having adjustable sights and an extended beavertail come standard makes it 'just as good' as a high end Operator
>B) Someone who realizes the limitations of 1911s but wants one anyway, even though they don't want to pay out the ass for it.
>Or a Model 14 S&W?

>Someone who inherited it from above and can't tell it from a 'cowboy gun.'
>What about a .357 Magnum?
>I FUCKING LOVE NEW VEGAS MAN!
>Basically the cop again, except he's not a pussy.
Cmon, is that really the best you can do? If you're down to using your pistol in a combat scenario, you're fucked anyways, carry what you're comfortable with and carry with. I regularly switch between my shield, 1911 and PPQ depending on what situation I'm heading into. I can guarantee you I could outshoot you with any of them because training trumps ammo capacity you fucking sperg
I've shot AKs and the SKS, they feel similar, but I like the full 20" barrel better and I only wish there was some way to modernize the SKS into detachable mags common with AKs, and make a select fire option.
I hate stuff for fun. I got no problem with anyone, but satire all.
I tried to be comprehensive, but looks like>>27771950 got me:
Likes ar15s and figured them in 308 would be great, without realizing the giant clusterfuck that is the ar10 market put that they're are way better options. Keep in mind I own most of the shit on the list. Shit, I have over 20 mosins.
Ain't nothing wrong with owning Swiss shit
Training trumps capacity, but that's no reason to limit capacity when you're comfortable with and own something with higher capacity.
I'm sure you can put holes in paper just fine, but are you sure 8 rounds is going to be enough for every situation? Have you been through simunitions training so you know how you'll react when in a gunfight?
A shocking number of people, including police who have most likely received better training than you, simply magdump when the fight-or-flight kicks in.
>theyre totally different guys
Is that why the AKM replaced the SKS in every country that adopted it? This damage control is sad, please tell me that the 10 rd fixed mag is better than the 30 round detachable mag on the AK. I want to hear you pretend that you actually believe that.
Sig p226 MK25
The anchor symbol means I don't have to clean it and it never rusts, also when I sell it I'll easily double my money.
probably an old fudd that votes democrat because thats what his union stewards told him to do for 30 years before the union dissolved with his pension fund after the plant closed
>tfw your P226 doesn't have an anchor
How do you figure?
870 is is one of the most successful, best selling pump shotguns on the market and has been for some time. It's also reliable and affordable. It is very popular for a reason. It also has a decent aftermarket for it (considering it's a shotgun and not an AR).
It is used by local police and Federal law enforcement.
Also: a popular hunting/sporting shotgun is not always a fudd gun.
>owns 20 mosins
You must be destitute beyond belief. My poorest friend owns 2 mosins. I only own one, and my gun budget is at least 10x higher than his each year.
If I owned 20 of them, idk if I could even put food on the table once a week.
Jimenez: Family of 20 on a single lane at the range with the hostage target at 15yards
>mfw my father sold his python because the timing was off and got a P9S instead
Knew they did it to nig speak. Also haven't been on much for a few days. Didn't know they had done it to /pol/s favorite word.
Want a good conceal carry. Maybe fooled by the USA and brand name into thinking it wasn't Croatian design. Triggers glock fags and faggots who hate grip safety.
The Bersa .380s can be finnicky and tend to have trigger issues but they are solid little bastards. Any gunsmith worth his salt can fix the Bersa trigger issues for $10 or less and once done it should run for many thousands of rounds without issue.
Only trouble I had with mine was feeding Hornady critical defense rounds
>yfw you Google image search 'moldy labia'
I don't so much judge people by the gun, as I know too many people with a wide variety in their collection. Some times I bring a Les Bauer to the range, sometimes I bring a RIA.>>27769395
What I judge people by is their support gear. It is impossible to take someone seriously if they are using:
Fobus or Serpa
Non microphoned Ear Pro
Only have 2-3 mags for their gun
Dept. store belt.
Factory Glock Sights
Uncle Fucking Mike's anything
No BUIS on AR w/red dot
The list goes on...
Springfield XDm owner. What you have to say about my shit /k/?
>DO YOUR WORST...
Someone judge people based on their favorite camo/milsurp gear
I don't understand why there's a differentiation between "muh .45" and Glockfags
There are Glocks chambered in .45
>Anything hollowpoint will fuck your shit up
This faggotry where everyone is all "HURR DURR MY GUN KILLS BETTER" is utter bull shit.
People who are legitimate gun enthusiasts don't fucking care what they're shooting. They're just happy to be shooting.
The people I know who really care about guns can have as much, if not more, fun with a .22 pistol than their higher caliber shit.
I met a guy who rechambered a Martini rolling block to .22, and it was fucking cool.
If you need to mention how much kick you can take, and how big your bullets are then you aren't doing it right.
All guns, even hi points and single shot .22s, are fucking cool in my book. The only guns I DON'T like are ones that don't function.
Everyone I've ever met who brought their barret to the range was a fucking awful shot.
You would think that something that cost $3-$5 a round and had a BC of above 1.0 would make every round count, but this is not the case.
OP, take your pernicious, shitty h8/b8 thread and fuck off.
>hurr I bet if I disguise it as a game, I can start a garbage thread hating on people who like things that I don't like!
You seem butthurt. Did a bunch of people insult your favorite gun?
Stop expecting everyone else to like what you like if what you like is shit. You don't need our approval to survive.

You're retarded. I don't expect people to "like what I like." But I certainly don't call people down like a sperg just because they own a firearm I don't like, which seems to be the point of your thread.

This thread is about your preconceptions of a person based on their firearms of choice, not shitting on anybody. As this is 4chan, it has been perverted by some to shit on other users.
Not my thread nigga, I was just commenting on the blasted status of your ass.
>go back to arfcom you faggot
Oh, you're upset about the AR-15 bashing. Get over it buddy, you're a wannabe opr8or in the minds of strangers until proven otherwise.

>10/22 with tactical shit all over it (may or may not have BX25 mags)
Prepper fag that buys all the .22, most likely has 2+years of canned, dried, food/MREs and at least 2 bug-out-bag videos on Youtube
>Anything with Tapco
Airshitter who just got into guns
I know. Why can't people just say the rifle they're actually talking about? It annoys the shit out of me as a vz58 owner when other people who clearly own vz2008s say its a vz58.
They're both good rifles that have gone bang for me every time, but they're not the same. One has a sandpaper action and meh fit/finish, and it's completely obvious some parts are worn pretty hard like the loose feeling folder stocks... the other is smoother than a baby's arse in the action etc and has parts that are actually new, fit into eachother perfectly, and the parts feel solid as a rock with no wiggle.
>any ultra magnum revolver (.500 S&W stuff like that)
Try hards who want to compensate for shitty marksmanship with a huge caliber, or they just bought it so they can brag that they have one.
I think I have met 1 person in my entire life who actually used one legitimately for hunting.
>any .50 BMG rifle
Dumbass who thinks that bigger caliber actually justifies an exponentially higher price. Probably hasnt ever used it for the 1,000 yard shooting it was meant for, considers it a noise maker to impress his buddies blasting microwaves and old tvs at 50 yards.
(I never got over how a gun that costs as much as an AR10 to manufacture can sell for $10,000 just because its a high caliber)
Different anon but
>SO that actually uses sidearms
>Military units in general actually using sidearms
You're retarded. Just read some first hand accounts of actual operators on other forums. They'll be the first to tell you that sidearms are hardly used. And not to mention, force recon isn't the only SO unit, and SO units worldwide use all sorts of sidearms, but most prefer ds pistols not chambered in obsolete calibers.
You're better off looking at the equipment choices of people who use their handguns regularly, that being law enforcement (e.g. police, fbi, marshalls, etc)
Whoa, chill out, autismo.
>read some "first hand accounts" of "actual operators" on other forums
That's what you're basing your argument on? Hahahahahaha
>let's compare to other people who use their weapons even less
You're really not helping yourself here
Guess things about me based off my arsenal. I just got a Mosin yesterday.
The ultimate in utility but god forbid you shell out for a gun that is also reliable and has some aesthetic appeal. Glocks are great guns but are undeniably the ugliest handgun ever.
Suffers from special snowflake syndrome. Wanted a reliable metal or polymer gun but didn't want a. Flock or Sig like everyone else. Probably more money than sense. Potentially inna cult
If the SKS was genuinely more accurate I would give you that. Only advantage is the velocity but even then that round is still going to drop like Elton John onto a cock.
