how do you NOT get a spend cartridge straight into your face?!?!
Honestly wooden furniture bullpups look sexy as fuck.
That's... actually rather handsome. Any videos of this one being operated?
I looked up wooden SKS bullpups and the first video I watched the thing stovepiped every second or third shot.
Loved it when I first saw it, but upon further lurking and seeing it 100,000 more times I don't anymore.
>dat 8" barrel
>y u no has bayonet
Honestly I would fab up a nice cheekrest/shell deflector to use with that stock and an non-fucked-up SKS action with an unfucked barrel.
And I would not mount my only sighting option on a $14 NCStar gas tube mount.
nope, and I don't watch the empty casings fly out of my gun either, I just shoot at crap and then look for the brass after. And that shit goes everywhere,
Although, looking at the video, I never want to use a gas tube optic mount on my SKS. (I knew that anyways)
My friend built one of these out of a 59/66.
The shells didn't even touch the part circled in red.
Trigger was shit and it felt weird, but to each his own.
I-i'm so confused right now. Clearly it is a modified SKS but the lack of bubba surprises me. I like it, actually. For the shekels I would still buy an AUG or Tavor but I like that shit.
I always kind of like seeing bubba work if they have a talent for woodworking. Ive seen some really beautiful craftsmanship on older sporterized rifles. I miss my K98 sporter with its oak stock, carved cheek rest and perfect checkering for hunting in the winter. Seen various engravings, stain patterns and finely tuned stocks on others that make them look like highball european hunting guns.
I absolutely hate "cut the handguard back to the trigger and leave it as raw wood with teeth marks from a sawzall" sporters tho.
In my experience, the SKS throws casings upwards and forwards, with the sideways component being the smallest (but still present). The ones I shot may have been overgassed though.
In either case, I feel like a lefty is going to catch a bolt handle to the cheek, which is probably a bigger problem than brass to the face.
>the other L85s don't realize I'm an SKS
What a terrible idea. Enjoy the gas venting directly into your face and eyes. how many caseings do you suppose can't be embedded into someone's forehead before they can't operate operationally?
Please anon. Go outside, find the nearest railway line. Lay your faggot head down upon it and wait there until our species is immeidelty improved by your absence
Trust me son there is gas coming out of the top of the receiver on an sks. If you disagree go shoot yours right now with your hand lightly resting atop the receiver and let me know how those second degree burns feel
>oh wait you don't have an sks
Not the guy from earlier, but if it's venting to the side, wouldn't it burn your face? I think this bullpup sks is awesome tho, don't get me wrong. But I'm also left handed, so I don't think I'd be doing that
Not a True bubba, but still pretty funny
So why are all the vent holes on my SKS on the sides of the tube? If you're talking about when the cartridge ejects its minimal. Most of the gas goes forward, that which is siphoned off as soon as it pushes the piston back in the gas tube and breaks the seal the gas goes around the piston and vents out the side holes to the left and the right.
Here's the proof. Left and right matching holes. Don't believe me? Cover them in tape and fire. Tape is blown to pieces.
This Might change your mind.
Mind you this is from the same gun shop that did >>27803794
I own one nice 1950 Tula with all matching numbers that I am leaveing the fuck alone.
My second SKS had a beat up stock and it became the "project gun". It is fun to fuck around with them, especially if it requires no permanent modification.
This is my current "fun" SKS and I am not ashamed at all.
What stock and do they make a version that is a folder? I really want a stock for my sks that is a folder and isn't ugly as sin, that one and pic related are what I like. It's either that and go full bubba and rig a door hinge to the stock to make it like those folding arisakas.
I'll see your batman and raise you a Spiderman
That is a sabertooth stock from Hical up in Canadaland. It is a solid milled aluminum chassis.
They are kind of expensive due to the hydro dip finish (woodland or desert camo) and the amount of CNC work needed to make one, I guess. $350 Canadian, so about $299 USD if they ever get around to exporting them.
They take any AR stock so you can throw on a folding variant if you like.
Introducing the Fischer-Price "My First M&P"
I actually like the "toy gun" aesthetic in this case.
>bullpup stocks are illegal in canada
Oh damn. Does anyone have that screencap of the Spiderman theme song for this?
>In the chill of the night,
>At the scene of the crime,
>Like a blast of dynamite
Also, not exactly bubba. But a damn interesting idea.
God damn that looks absolutely beautiful
To the people saying "sks ejects shell upwards", wouldn't it be a relatively easy fix to alter the ejection path?
Damn I would love to have that puppy though...
I don't have a problem with people modifying older firearms to be more comfortable to shoot or handle. I am guessing the owner of that rifle legit cared for it and it looks pretty comfy to shoot.
Then you get shit like this.
Man mother fucker.
I have been rolling 666 alarmingly often. I've gotten it on the treadmill, cash registers, everywhere. I am a largely agnostic person that is only passingly familiar with the God of Isaac and Abraham and has never read even a page of a bible. Except for the first few of the Mormon Bible I got for free and felt uneasy reading it and tossed it on the closet.
What gives? Is "666" actually the number of the beast?
>gas comes out the top
>no it comes out the side
>yes it does, look at the pics that clearly show side vent holes not top
>you didn't grab it with your hand
>never said I did
>that was my first post
It comes out the mother fucking sides you Thai sex slave shaved orangutan.
No one said they ported gas from the chamber. Anon said gas was vented from the chamber. 100% of the gas from a round isn't vented at the ports and the resulting bit wouldn't feel good blown directly into your face as the OP pic appears to do when shouldered
Guy that does the Wooden Bullpup SKS also does a left handed sks bolt
I would have gotten those parts TiN'd instead of durashitted, but still looks nice.
Next time I find a cheap non-collectible luger somewhere, I'm going to have the whole thing plated in TiN and polished up to a nice shine.
>Hey cool a wood-furnished tavor
>look closer at action and mags
Bubba can make some nice things, sometimes. I think this belongs to some Syrup here.
Looks like a dressed up Bushmaster Arm Pistol.
