>le Nazi were EVIL!
Firstly, how much of a petty pleb do you have to be to judge a work of literature according to political criteria?
Secondly, you clearly don't know anything about national socialism, and only unthinkingly accept the notion of them being the archetypal "evil regime" or some kind of racist and genocidal organization. Abstain from commenting on things of which you are ignorant, or else you'll look like the idiotic moron that you are.
>>7225509 How's your English? I was pleased with the Lyngstad translation. It's not a very challenging book. The language is plain and simple for the most part. If you can find it, I recommend reading that translation.
>>7225847 I've been recommending Gulbranssen quite a couple of times here on /lit/. At his time, he was a best-selling author and his books were even included in the White House library if I recall right. He was also one of Hitler's favorite authors though, so even when he constantly distanced himself from Nazism he's gotten a bad rep because of it.
>>7226300 På Gjenngrodde Stier is the only one in first person that I know of, but it's more a memoir than a novel. You can draw a lot of paralels between it and Hunger though, which is interesting. Or to say it like Hamsun: Ringen slutter.
