I'm a newfag when it comes to mecha genre, yet I loved playing SMT OG on an emulator. What anime titles are good to begin with?
Not good enough.
The more niché yet talked about here the better. But it really depends on what you like. Pick your poison campy over the top or detailed world building?
Well, I think I know what you meant to say at least.
The obvious suggestion is SRW OG anime. The OVA (sequel to OG2) is fun enough, Divine Wars (adaptation of OG1) is not so good and The Inspector (adaptation of OG2 is real good fun.
The next suggestion would be the original Gundam. SRW, even OG, is based heavily on the classic Gundam UC setting.
Char, go home. You're drunk.
Does he actually fucking say "Lalah was to be my mother"?
Why does the VF-25 only have thrusters in the feet? How does it accelerate in gerwalk.
No, just about every VF has back thrusters as well
>Mecha is mostly CG now
Is there even a point in watching Mecha anymore? This shit killed the genre and it hurts because I enjoy watching Mecha along with other types of Anime. Sometimes I have that robot itch I need to scratch.
Do you like mechs with finger lasers?
>no real fight scenes until the last 20 or so minutes
>anime will never use this artstyle again

What the fuck is he wearing?
I'm not even sure which of the two of them you're referring to, but both have some seriously weird clothes. Sting has a belly bearing t-shirt or boob tube (pack rack?) on that makes him look very metrosexual, while Auel just has some weird half kimono thing on with a shit load of belts. Maybe he went to the Lulu school of clothing?
The optimum height for the combat real-mecha?
On land? Yes. Unless we're talking power armor, then the bipedal nature isn't a real hindrance.
Height is a disadvantage, as is weight distribution with all that metal.
In a planetary environment, I'd say 300cm is probably the cutoff point where the mech becomes too tall.
GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER SUNRISE
End of the year, let's relive all the memories we had on this little board which we call home
I'm just going to dump out random stuff I feel like translating. If you have any requests, shoot, but I'm limited to stuff there's decent scans of on dalong.
MG Build Strike FP Bio: http://pastebin.com/G68qyG8r
MG Turn-X please. Turn-A is my favorite Gundam show and I'm curious if there's any new setting or historical details in the Turn-X's manual since I don't recall seeing it at any point - though I've probably just missed it.
I'd also be interested in seeing stuff for the Shining, God and 00 [Q]ant if possible. Basically just want to find out if the manuals clarify whether the G suits actually generate attacks or simply channel them and if the [Q]ant manual says any more about...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Turn X got translated a while back: http://pastebin.com/DPLgZy5Z
I don't know if there's a pastebin for it lying around, but the 00Q's wiki page is surprisingly detailed and appears to cite the MG manual so there's that too. I can take a look at it after I finish up with Build Strike and see if it checks out though.
As for Shining and God, sorry but the only scans Dalong has are potato quality.
Pretty unrelated but when you think about it, Isn't the most realistic models from Build Fighters high grades? The only thing that will make them even more realistic is an inside frame or all those stupid things like Vulcan bullets.
So how was 2015 /m/?
Not just in cartoons and toy commercials but in all things mechanical.
Why in God's name does it need feathers in fucking space?
