Full Boost thread, I can't sign into PSN Edition.
My PSN got back up, and I've been wrecking face pretty effortlessly as the GP02A. I feel like I'm playing a disgustingly overpowered suit against all these Kiras.
>Kiras fire their fuck huge beams at me
>use nuke's hyper armor property to point blank nuke them
>their beam knocks me down and safely shields me from most damage
ZahlzeitJP, post yours? I'll make the room after I poop.
I go ham too much but I've been using BD2 lately so yeah maybe we can improve together. I only have a 51% win rate and the others are similar, I guess not noob friendly per se but we'll do our best to try to help.
You and penguin, you should use boost hop more in the neutral game. You do it by boosting then tapping boost with no direction. It saves a lot of boost and travels you farther, and makes you harder to hit. It's good when you don't need to land immediately.
GP02 has super armor on attacks, abuse that shit!
His net went out, he's coming back
You can armor through projectiles with exam dashes. You can restore exam by ending with a specfic ender which I think is BC after a melee string. That's basically what you do, manage exam.
the hype is real
We need one to play a full match, is anyone in?
Yeah we're still rocking. What's your PSN?
We'll be stopping by a little later for some games!
You set a button and do a direction plus a button to send it. I just put it for L3 and can do both at the same time.
I'm truly honored. I have no idea what I've ever done to deserve a fan, let alone fans, but I appreciate your support of the Disco_Feveron brand. It really makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Hey, we're online! So who do we need to add to get into the room?
I was torn between him and Cima and got Cima instead who isn't that bad. Also Lust says he has family business, so maybe Disco host and invite char and 666.
Oh just realized you guys only have three, might as well host randoms in that case or you should get your friend, char.
Try to use your assists more as GP02 and when you don't have anything to do, charge B. It's a great buff.
You could have hit Zaku 3 out of the suicide by instead using the rick dom assist
Yeeaahhh it's definitely a problem I'm aware of, but I've seem to hit this weird wall with GP02. It's just so different from NEXT so I keep wanting to play it as if it were NEXT but I'm like... dude no, don't do that, it's not the same thing.
Just gotta cut it out and properly relearn it, it feels bad being mediocre with a suit I used to be so good with.
Yeah I know right? A lot of suits I used to use changed so much from NEXT and I'm hurting, like Turn X used to be so fun.
>Just gotta cut it out and properly relearn it, it feels bad being mediocre with a suit I used to be so good with.
I know that feel man
It's all good, the groove is sure to show itself to you when it's ready. Also The GP02 gets armor during melee when it's beam saber is fully charged. Super useful
I might have a 4th, he's having connection issues
yoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo that webm, godlike
I feel the same way about Virsago too. It's not too different from CB and yet, it is? That's why I'm just like "forget it man" and I just focus most of my efforts on Sinanju.
I feel like Virsago even if it "feels" weird is still pretty similar, even got better imo
I think GP02 is a more fun suit that both and definitely worth using
Alright, added em.
Also haha, yeah. I only started playing this game around 3 months ago (only game in the series I've played, but I've had a nice deal of fun with the current Turn X. Kind been binge playing it the past 3 days from 1 star to 3. So I hope I'm not too bad at it.
They're actually pretty simple stuff. Like the Blue destiny one, the last one you quoted is just setting up the missile then BD8B -> ABC > 8B > ABC
Or simply boost dash forward melee into burst activation, forward melee, and then the super.
Oh I don't deny that Virsago got better here, but I'd rather not ruin everyone's good time with bad CB play. I'd rather practice execution offline before taking any shenanigans online. No one likes a bad partner.
Makes perfect sense but yeah. When I need to familiarize myself with a suit I just turn on extreme level AI and infinite lives and time and just try to get myself comfortable. I think Virsago is pretty easy to get down so it's something worth practicing for tomorrow.
OH god do you remember Zeta's revenge mode and the glitch with Wing Zero that turned his gerobi into trans am raiser sword? So much fun shit in Next plus I wish they implemented in the current games.
I remember all of these things, oh my gosh. It was stupid but a lot of fun.
It's no problemo! I should have made it larger by default. After this match I'll reset the room.
Btw the name you game me didn't seem to work. Just tell him to add me (N666Celestial)
I think I may leave early, I just can't seem to get a hold of anything today and I'd rather not bring anyone down. Thanks though.
Andrew's Gaia is one of the dlc suits I wouldn't have minded being the exact same as the default one. I'd like to play standard Gaia but Stella's voice is like nails on a chalkboard for me.
I love that win animation with the Turn X, where it reassembles. It's just so stylish.
Oh man, same. It's the greatest. Plus just using the Bloody Siege split is nice.
Btw this will be the last match, gotta get some rest. But I'll be one with Zahl and Lust tomorrow for some more.
People should get their basics right first before tackling suits like GP02. /m/ will never admit it but it's incredibly frustrating when your teammate jobs and does nothing useful.
...but Turn X was terrible in NEXT, the only purpose of the weapon switching was to make you waste time getting to the beam emitter.
Also don't forget the retarded way the Moonlight Butterfly came out.
Bloody Siege came out a lot faster and it was harder to get on him as a consequence. 8B was great melee to melee and hard to challenge, although he doesn't have the sick amekyans he doesn't have now the zook felt faster. Also passive back shield and better melee overall. His current CSa was like AB before too.
Honestly, I feel like Freedom is the most basic of them all. But Gundam is a good choice too.
Also you probably shouldn't be throwing attacks that freeze you in place all willy nilly, especially if you're not going to boost dash cancel them right away. Nothing wrong with using the beam rifle.
Hey fellas, how much longer do you plan to play? I gotta go grocery shopping and do some stuff around the house real quick but I'd still like to play.
Honestly it's you man if you're IceJ, the room was fine before
Planning on playing all day maybe, taking a break to cut the grass but otherwise there's still going to be people here
If your partner is dying twice as a 2k and above you're either a bad partner who can't cover or your partner is extremely terrible. Both are not good situations to have. The only real chance you have at winning is if your opponents are equally terrible.
Get something with a fairly 'basic' moveset and doesn't really have any moves that require suit familiarity to use. Examples would be Gundam, Freedom and F91, though I wouldn't really recommend F91 because of the low HP.
If you are new to the game (less than a few weeks of ownership of the game) you may want to start off with a simpler suit. The Strike Freedom is 3000 cost which means you only get two lives at most, and if the other person knows how to shut you out, you will die easily and lose matches very fast.
Do you know arcade notation?
>Strike Freedom - Use CSa to poke / fast landing punish. Press melee then immediately cancel during startup to CSa to avoid multi-lock CSa, which is awful. neutral dragoons (5AC) are best for pressure. they fire automatically when you BR. use 6AC when you would rather footsie than aggress. use gerobi (AB) while mounted funnels are up. Use them to punish.
CS refers to charge shot, which is an attack you do by holding down a button and letting go when the bar under the ammo gauge is full. CSa would be charging the square button, CSb would be charging the triangle button. That advice is for Strike Freedom though, that handles differently from the Freedom.
>Freedom - 5AB is good for counterattacking, landing punishes, and getting knockdowns. 2AB is good for landing punishes. cancel stuff into 6BC for extra defense. you can also BR / Sub during your 6BC.
6BC is one of the evasion hops, those are extremely useful for making yourself harder to hit and for evading in general. You can even shoot while doing it.
Guys, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I know that vs CPU and PVP are totally different, but that can't be all of it. I'm best with the Exia and I'm really good against the CPU and can dodge and close gaps with no problem, but I get absolutely destroyed online, mostly from not being able to close gaps. What am I doing wrong /m/?
The only way to fix that is more practice. Just like how you can see the CPU and read what they're doing so you can dodge CPU player's attacks, more experienced players can read what you're doing and counter it.
That's a video outlining intermediate maneuvers if you want to see different kinds of movements and how they're useful.
Holy crap I cannot play back, I just don't have the patience. It's mostly never being able to punish anybody's landing due to the range gap that really gets to me. Not to mention people are really good at evading and I usually just end up dying like an idiot before my partner.
Messala and Zeong for back mostly. The weird timing on the Messala's br kills me and I have no idea when to utilize the Zeong's psycommu shenanigans. It's mostly just problems with suit familiarity I suppose.
I actually tend to do a lot better up front. I think it's mostly the fact that I'm constantly expecting to being shot at. I just do better in close combat situations in general, whereas I tend to lose my patience more quickly playing back since I don't want to be dead weight.
I forgot, here's a link to a forum where lots of things are discussed.
They have a guide for the Freedom.
I'm by no means an advanced player, but I tend to play Zeong as an aggressive supporter. I stay in the middle range with aggressive BR use, using the occasional AB (twin hand MP cannons) for sure hits and AC (long body MP cannons) for punishing or occasional sniping. I rarely use melee, only if I'm already in close range and if I'm out of ammo for everything else.
Normally, I'll try to keep one enemy knocked down or busy most of the time while I try to support my teammate by interrupting and/or stunning the enemy he's targeting. If the enemy targeting me is a melee type or is chasing me, I'll try to play keep-away while landing shots on him, occasionally changing target to fire at the other enemy.
I find that when I'm playing Zeong, it feels a bit sluggish on landing, there's tips for alleviating that though.
>Zeong - 8B is very good at anti melee / close range attacking while avoiding. Rainbowstep after landing with 8B into a BR to get a pseudo-fast with little recovery. Stay in the air forevery with 8B -> AB/6BC x n. Landing punish with AB or B.
But unless you're playing with /m/ you'll be punished far more often if you're terrible at dodging shots and playing front. Back roles are easier roles to fill in because you're not the one aggroing and having more shots aimed at you. If you're losing patience quickly, that has more to do with your own skill, rather than the role you're playing. A front who's impatient opens himself up for even more chances to get doubleteamed and shat on.
Get your basics right first before even considering things like playing roles like front/back etc. /m/ rooms aren't honestly a good gauge of the average player skill because there's a whole lot of poor players in these rooms asides Disco, heulen, Links etc. I'm not ragging on /m/, but that's really just how it is. In most cases, they're usually the ones carrying the team.
