So the Geth are obviously /m/, but are they robots?
They're sentient, they have their own sense of "culture", and they are in a sense individuals, merely linked to a hivemind. Even in-universe people don't call them robots, but synthetic lifeforms.
>Even in-universe people don't call them robots, but synthetic lifeforms.
I've always joked that that's the Mass Effect version of political correctness.
But yeah, they're totally robots. Some of their bodies are made of more organic looking components, but even then they're constructed.
yeah, I'd fuck a geth, what of it?
both physical and data form
I thought one of ME's recurring themes was how repeatedly assuming AI and natural life can't coexist as equals is exactly the reason why coexistence continued to fail time and time again.
That fear and paranoia ultimately are the basis for said fear and paranoia.
I thought they were...
I dunno, I never really cared about them. Legion's Eye has always been the monoeye to me, I guess I always kinda figured that those two were just for... aesthetics or something? Or because he didn't have enough glowy bits, maybe.
The geth are shown to, always, ALWAYS be total bros. All they wanna do is not get shot at while building a Jupiter brain so none of them ever have to be alone ever again. Also, they're kinda like robot puppies.
There's a reason my favorite multiplayer class is the Geth Engineer.
Geth classes were best classes in Multiplayer
>mfw playing Geth Trooper and barbecuing everything with the Flamer
>Wide Hex Shield
>Full support turret
Sets up a kill box your allies can sit in and shred enemies from at least somewhere on a decent number of maps.
>tfw Legion sacrifices himself to give the other gethbros full sentience
I'd totally fuck a quarian though.
on that note
>romance tali in 2
>romance tali in 3
>skip jack mission by accident don't have points to save both
>pick the geth
tali jumps off cliff
I still think I made the right choice.
>Every multiplayer geth has a bit of Legion in them
>Every multiplayer geth is Legion
>Legion fights on in every geth class
>Everyone who plays as a geth is playing as Legion
>Legion will never die.
>Can put people's brains into the geth consensus with the right cybernetic upgrades
>Which Shepard almost certainly would let them scan if they needed to
>Each individual geth is now sentient
>It will be entirely possible to romance a geth
>Data sex will almost certainly be a thing
I don't have a reaction image for this.
if that's its mouth why doesn't it shoot lasers or atomic fire out of it?
The Geth were by far the most interesting race in Mass Effect.
Well figuring they were designed to look like quarians, its kinda obvious isn't it.
Also BTs are best species.
>I've always joked that that's the Mass Effect version of political correctness.
See I don't see that because the ones who intially called the Geth that are the ones who want to genocide them the most.
>The geth are shown to, always, ALWAYS be total bros.
Except in ME1 where the ones you met were all filthy heretics.
I tended to go full paragon boyscout in the first 2 games (unless it locked me out of loyalty), but that was the one instance where I couldn't pick paragon purely from gut feelings.
The seccond he started speaking I knew Legion was going to join us and I knew that he would be the coolest member of the team. Having a geth join the crew was one of the most awesome moments of Mass Effect 2.
Every conversation with him is amazing.
And you won't get to hear most of them unless you use Gibbed to make him a party member early, because he was originally meant to be a character you could get right away instead of near the end.
>mfw the ending
Ashley lived, I've never once given Kaiden a shot.
Wrex lived and mordin sacrifised himself to cure the genophage.
I let Samara kill Morinth because, I liked my new justicar.
Miranda and Jack "were asked to make out"
And Legion sacrifsed itself to give us all intelligence. It will be honored. Also Admiral Raan was asked if she had concidered possible settlement sites.
Kai Leng got stabbed, it was for Thane.
Everyone that could be saved got saved.
