Good god, do you never get tired of this decade-old meme?
Roleplaying as an inquisitor from 40k stopped being funny ages ago.
And yet here you are, calling everything sexy "heresy" and posting Fuklaw pictures like it's still 2008. You'd think only a teenager who just got into 40k would find this amusing but you must be at least in your early 20s, most likely in your early 30s.
>TIEs are all painted black
>same old model decades later
There better be some fucking amazing space battles
>shockmaster finally gets his time to shine
I don't MIND those... For early TIEs, but yeah later models need the longer panels.
The Stormtrooper Lord is amazing though.
Huh? I just think it needs less white and more black/gunmetal.
>you realize now that the new Stormtrooper mask now combines a Hannya mask jaw
It's actually interesting how Vader's design basically began as "futuristic samurai".
Star wars sword fighting was based on Samurai
Proving once and for all western nerds are obsessed with Japan even before anime was big in the west
The new trailer is slightly less boring. Still stand by what I said in >>12455439
He's taking a poor stand guarding so many details. Lucas was just as secretive over phantom menace, and when the cover was removed, it was revealed he had fucking nothing.
I must be psychic, couple of seconds before I clicked /m/ I imagine a star wars thread, with "HAPPENING".
...or really hiveminded, fuck
Rei confirmed for best Star Wars grill
Literally nostalgia bait the movie. That first shot is 1:1 from the first movie.
That's why I hate Abrams. He does the same thing he did with Star Trek. Build it all on nostalgia without any identity of it's own. I mean, that was the whole hook of Super 8.
It's probably just a ball with a little motorized head on it.
Just move the head towards where you want to go, and the ball starts rolling. From then on, you just have to make sure the head doesn't fall off.
It looks... not bad? Some of the CGI doesn't look very finished, though for a teaser that's acceptable but hopefully there will be a bit more dust and grime in the final product.
Some weird things though; the X-wing pilot's helmet doesn't fit very snugly (you can see it sliding), so at least it's nice that they have cockpit mockups and not just green boxes. I liked the hovering TIE, but I'm not sure I'm convinced on the stark white on the radiator panels.
The new Star Destroyer model looks very interesting though, with a split upper/lower hull section towards the fore and a more protected reactor.
Actually no, SDs are rated for atmospheric reentry, you knock one out of the space above a planet once in Rogue Squadron 2 and it crashed, and not only did it survive mostly in tact. a seemingly large amount of its crew survived AND was capable of launching its fighter and walker detachments.
> because re-entry would have wrecked it.
Well, it's entirely possible that there are redundant mechanisms that allow a ship of that size to maintain some structural integrity and slow its descent, as we saw (terribly) in RoTS.
Furthermore, ISDs were capable of reentry, though by the time of the civil war, they (particularly ISD-IIs and Tector variants) had become much larger and less agile in atmosphere compared to earlier Venators, Acclamators, and Victory I and IIs.
What's interesting is that in that shot all the major Barbettes housing the larger turbolasers along the flanks of the ship have either been destroyed or salvaged, so this is likely an ISD that had crash-landed quite a long time ago.
Here's a depiction of the battle in question.
Huh, so this is interesting. The "new" Tie fighter has either reverse-facing blasters, or the bottom section of their sphere is a rotating turret.
It'd be interesting to see how dogfights go now that they can do this.
In other news, fatty star destroyer is love.
Hey man, both Star Trek movies were pretty good and the only thing that is keeping that franchise somewhat relevant. If you think any of those Star Trek movies after Wrath of Khan are good you're high.
I won't tell you you're wrong for enjoying them or anything, but they're painfully bare of ship-to-ship combat. Every engagement is either a villainous ubership slapping its dick on a puny Federation vessel and disabling it in seconds, or full bombardment of a crippled target. Nothing with any suspense to it.
>both Star Trek movies were pretty good
The first one was an enjoyable popcorn action movie with some retro Star Trek elements. Into Darkness was "let's continue this reboot series by copy-pasting every significant moment from any Star Trek media ever into one god awful mishmash" and was only watchable for the 'totally' unintentional love story between Kirk and Spock.
I won't argue that any film other than Wrath of Khan had much in the way of cinematic merit (though I personally enjoy Undiscovered Country), but in spite of WoK being an amazingly well made film we now have a generation of newfags shitting on it for not being flashy enough and not having Humperdick Bandersnatch.
>09 restored my faith in the franchise
09 had the most ass backwards retarded plot I've seen in a big budget movie and they reduced all of the characters to action movie charicatures.
I just have issues with the close zooms and shaky cam when I'd rather see what is happening without effects making it harder to visually process. Shit's counterintuitive, particularly since he frequently uses it with CGI - am I not supposed to see the actual quality or something?
>Ricardo Montalban was too old, Cumberbatch was much more intimidating and believable as Khan
Repeat that a couple dozen times, add some complaints about all the boring conversations taking up time, and a handful of declarations that going allahu ackbar on Federation HQ is more cunning than anything Khan did in Wrath.
YouTube comments aren't exactly a forum for reasoned discussion, but they're a pretty good reflection of the average moviegoer.
This was my favorite part of MGS2
>All-black TIE fighter with white panels
They're really going all out with that White/Black only aesthetic for the Empire.
It's awfully clean, even the Clone Wars animated series made things look "dirtier" than this.
Of the main people involved in the Star Trek reboot, he's probably the least guilty.
I'd say the bulk of the blame is best laid at the feet of the writing duo of Damon 'What Means This Decent Ending' Lindelof and Roberto 'Star Trek: Into Loose Change' Orci.
Cause really, the direction in those movies is mostly just passable if overly stylized. It's the writing that is the biggest stumbling block.
so does this mean lightsabers are real too?
Who is the hero? That Han Solo's wannabe or the chick? The latter has the huge dissavantage of not having a cock. Maybe Disney is testing the waters by I still think that the Han Solo's rip-off is Luke's son because Han Solo was the most popular character on the original trilogy and he's a white dude.
Incoming cuck joke
Not digging the nigger. He seems too fucking bland and it seems he'll stay for the entire movie.
>Star wars sword fighting was based on Samurai
nigga the whole plot of new hope is based of a samurai flick
Lucas was a chanbara nerd
I agree with you. It feels entirely unnecessary. Not that the prequels are good, but we got a full story of Darth Vader being born, fucking up, and getting redemption. The EU is fun for sidestory stuff, but you don't need more movies.
Hollywood doesn't like female leads except for chick flicks and Abrams has an infamous reputation as a woman-hater. In fact, there were bigger chances of a female lead when Lucas was in charge and he's an autistic old man.
>Abrams has an infamous reputation as a woman-hater
The internet has a habit of thinking that to a lot of men, I'm going to need more harder evidence than just citing a supposed reputation in an age where you get on seemingly everyone's bad side on twitter by not being 100% PC every waking moment, to say nothing of tumblr.
iirc NotDarth Someguy supposed to be a sith fanboy with shit control of sith stuff, pretty sure he's not a trained force user, but I _might_ be mixing up "not a trained force user" with "not a trained sith"
the latter would still leave it open for spoiler, but I don't think spoiler would end up making a borked lightsaber that needs the vents to blow off excess steam
It's pretty ironic that a weeb board is the Sweden of 4chan. Racism is everywhere, just like the real world.
yeah pretty sure Reven-y guy is supposed to be Kylo Ren
no idea if he's Sherlock or not
and seriously fuck you food captcha making me hungry
Sometimes the food doesn't even match up to the prompt. I've gotten curry for soup before. But, back to Star Wars...how many movies do you think he'll last? And in which one will he go full retard, as Sith are wont to do?
>tfw /pol/ isn't discussing the trailer
>[wilhelm scream intensifies]
Something like this?
I'm just hoping we get some good X-Wing action in the new movie.
my uniformed guess says he wont live last past the first one, and the multi-series bad guy is that guy in the middle of the platform and his henchman Commander Shiny Trooper
AND THAT IS GODDAMN GRILLED CHICKEN ON NOT STEAK
>Don't have lewd thoughts of Han's daughter
>Don't have lewd thoughts of Han's daughter
>Don't have lewd thoughts of Han's daughter
Goddammit she inherited her mother's chest.
I wonder who this is then...the mouth is different.
that's a good point, I wonder if there's actually more characters running around then we think, and they just have similar-looking headgear going past the screen quickly.
I'm kinda diggin the new ISD though.
I like the Stormtrooper armor, it doesn't look too radical. If anything, it's pretty much just the Snowtrooper's breastplate.
Does anybody have the ancient Mad magazine article about the rest of the Star Wars series, that ends with Luke finding out his father was The Force (because lol who the fuck would actually have somebody born by The Force in a Star Wars movie amirite)
blow up the planet with a battle station the size of a small moon's big gun? no fuck that
it takes throwing an entire goddamn moon at Chewie to kill him, that's some DBZ grade stuff there
if Rogue One is still the Death Star Plans heist movie then he'll probably be in that, but there was a blurb about Rogue One that mentions "continuing the saga from Episode 7" or something that could be interpreted to mean it takes place after ep7
I think it's just muddy wording, but it's worth noting.
I marked the fuck out at this part
>Whoa whoa man, I don't give a shit about Boba appearing
