>go to getter robo wikia
>it's full of outright wrong information
>change it because it's a wiki
These idiots are so assblasted about people correcting their mistakes and outright ignore official romanzations for their own epeen.
>get shown proof about how 60% of their article is plainly wrong
>they just ban you and revert everything back to being incorrect
>baaaw this wiki sucks
>here, use my superior info, oh and you're all dumb by the way :^)
I cannot back your cause even if you're right, because you came off as a total twat, and justifiably got banned for it.
They can see IPs. And either way, it shouldn't matter. If something is wrong in a wiki, it needs to be changed. If you are purposely reverting information into falsities despite having all the proof telling you otherwise, then you're just corrupt.
Anyway I just wanted to post this on /m/ because I know they browse this board. Last time someone was complaining about how grossly wrong the wiki was, they just kept telling him to change it. Well this is what happens when you change it.
It's not that the name was wrong, the spelling on the wiki is just the official translated version, it was on the Italian manga and the pronunciation's the same, that just the way it's written in sanskrit.
How about Puru from Gundam ZZ?
Her "Official" romanization is "Ple" despite her never EVER being called anything but Puru.
Which resulted in her getting called "Pole" in Gundam Unicorn
Actually whatever writing system is used Arc is how its pronounced, ah (with those asterisk things) however is how it's written in Sanskirt, all international versions even the Japanese cover art uses the sanskrit character, hence why its used.
You're retarded if you honestly think that the American approximation of a Sanskrit pronunciation trumps the author naming his robot after his homeland's approximation of a Sanskrit character. The names are Arc, Kirik and Khan. It is not ah, hrim and ham. I'm sorry. You're retarded.
You didn't say anything. If you want to be heard properly, then formulate actual sentences like a human bean instead of using le epic images.
I'm being a jerk because I'm fighting against morons who won't even drop their dumb as shit position due to their misplaced pride.
Which person are you?
They made an "Official" romanization because they wanted to reference some lolicon magazine. (I don't know if she was made with the intent of being named after the magazine from the beginning or if her official romanization came out later)
s still fucking retarded since anyone with even one working ear and a copy of Gundam ZZ would be able to tell her name's fucking Puru.
Japanese companies generally are crap at double checking their own romanizations.
Learn to fucking read you stupid moron, do you really think that the American approximation of a Sanskrit pronunciation trumps the author naming his robot after his homeland's approximation of a Sanskrit character?
The question is whether or not the Getter was named after the Sanskrit character and the approximation came later or if it was named after the approximation.
It seems more likely that it was named after the original character and both the English and Japanese (and the Japanese attempt to make it legible to English readers,) are simply doing their best to approximate the original.
