Machine Chaser will gain the Rhino Super Viral Core to become Horned Machine Chaser
Just reposting from the old thread.
I don't know if anyone cares but I made a list of toku actors appearing jdramas this season. I usually check out who's appearing each season and figured I'd share the information with anyone here who might care.
It's incomplete right now, as I'm busy with some other stuff, but I thought I'd share what I've done. If I've missed anyone in the shows mentioned let me know.
Also for anyone who watches Garo, let me know if I got Asana Mamoru's character's name right.
The hoodies still have unique helmets. Yeah, they're cheaper and that's why we're getting so many forms for the main Rider.
The boost form variations also don't see any cheaper than Gaim's arm changes, since their hoods seem to have more solid pats.
Based Chimerabro saving everyone from white wizard's faggotry.
chaser is as close as we could get to a cool villain in bike like go badaa ba, right?
I'm just realizing I can't think of any heisei rider shows that had stock footage transformation sequences like that.
I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing for ghost, since presumably it'll cut down on costs a good bit which can hopefully go back into the rest of the show.
Figinstock you fool. He'll be up for preorder again countless times between now and release, hell he was just up on HobbySearch two days ago.
If all the transformation sequences are all stock footage, I personally cannot wait for Power Rider Ghost and its protagonist, Timothy Tennyson.
Do you guys think Kamen Riders exist?
Like do you think there are people in this world, with such character and a sense of justice, they are worthy of becoming a Kamen Rider?
Do you think there are people in this thread worthy of being a Rider?
Are you telling me the shows aren't documentaries?
See everyone? this is what happens when you don't properly diaper up your waifu.
The explain the time-travel premise better as the show goes on, but if you don't like Ryotaro and Imagin shenanigans like how they set up in the first episode, chances are you won't enjoy the rest of the series to get to that point.
Kuuga and Agito have a similar theme with W and Drive in terms of police involved-ness, though if you compare the atmosphere of the show it's like a whole level of different. Gaim's closest would be Ryuki.
Blade has a similar set up with it's Riders if you liked Drive
Kenzaki, Tachibana and Hajime bro it up eventually. Mutsuki is just a fucking faggot for most of the series
When Edison receives electric stimulation it lets him get inspired to finding ways to overcome a crisis and come up with new tactics. Musashi was the same with the topknot knowing Musashi's art of war: "The Book of Five Rings" and it can proposes appropriate tactics for any situation.
Yep. And it can also combine with his gadgets.
>there's a red, sword wielding form
>the main one is orange
What, is this from Opposite Japan?
>Rhino Viral Core
1) It better not stay gold
2) There better be a Rhino Roimude
Kamen Rider Ghost vs. Danny Phantom, who wins?
Did anyone pay attention to this? It seems they keep up with the calendar in real time.
Since 99 days are about 14 weeks, the 99 days will probably end at episode 15. It also means they might keep going at one eyecon every episode for now. What happens after that is still a mystery.
I assume episode 15 will be the climax of the first arc, which is right before Specter will presumably appear.
I admittedly haven't been keeping up with spoilers as much. Will Necrom be a third Rider? Do we have a confirmation on how many Riders will appear?
Specter appearing this month is really fast tbh
>I'm assuming the whole 99 days thing will either lead up to the midseason upgrade
Considering the rate it's going, it'll likely be connected to Boost, not one of the later upgrades.
So far it's Ghost, Specter and Necrom. Ghost gets his first upgrade Boost before Necrom which would line up with the climax of the 99 days plot.
FangJoker also appeared around episode 15 in W
Hmm, makes sense
I wonder if he'll actually be revived or just get an extension. Seems a bit too soon to end that storyline, when it's the entire set-up of the show
>when it's the entire set-up of the show
Not necessarily. The show was only described that way because that will be the major plot for at least the first cour. Another toku show, Gransazer, has had different plots for each cour of the show. Besides as a drama writer the writer is probably more comfortable in telling a story in a single cour so he might try and give Ghost multiple story arcs
Did anyone here watch anything the writer worked on before?
It was my first as well. As long as you're enjoying it and get interested in watching more, anything could be a good starting point imo
It's implied that every time Takeru uses a form that isn't his own, that soul's knowledge of whatever the person specialized in is temporarily transferred to him. I think what'll happen is that as he uses new forms and learns their abilities, his basic fighting skills in Ore will improve.
Drive OST 2 when? I want my Chaser themes
Kenzaki just wants to bro it up with everyone.
Tachibana bros it up with Kenzaki after he kills Isaka and stops being a brainwashed idiot.
Hajime tries his damnedest to be hardcore but Kenzaki won't let him and bros it up with him anyways. It takes Tachibana a LONG time to come around to him though.
Mutsuki a shit. Tachibana tries to mentor him but it doesn't work because, to reiterate, Mutsuki a shit, and doesn't stop being shit until close to the finale, after
two awesome bro-tier Undead sacrifice themselves for him.
Why did Amazon get cancelled early? It's my favorite of the Showa series so far. A half naked man turning into a chameleon and gnawing off limbs from a monster and then beating them to death with said limbs. You don't get much better than that.
Who knows if it's even getting released. The only new CD listings are for Ghost's OP.
You know you're brutal when even Japan is willing to cancel your shit. Abaranger had a scene where the Red taught a suicidal dude how to tie a noose and nobody batted an eyelash.
It was basically taking over the remaining episodes that they had in X's timeslot. Because it wasn't very successful, it didn't get an extension.
Remember, at the time, they thought they still could produce new hit toku series, so they didn't really need to stick with established franchises if they weren't performing excellently.
Two if they're written well and both allowed to shine. One if they're not since you're just wasting your time on the secondary otherwise.
Three is good times too since it allows just enough in-fighting without it overtaking the show like in Gaim for example.
It really depends on what you're going for with the toys.
>I want to start watching showa and decided to start with kuuga.
between libra and pic related there was probably a tachibana in like literally every episode
A lot. I like the character/ideological conflict that multi-Rider shows bring up the table.
If you are going to stick to one/two and MOTW shit, at least try to humanize and flesh up your kaijin.
Those are my preferences, anyway.
Three or four.
If you only have two, then those two had better be really fucking well developed.
More than four and it's tough to give the characters effective development, Gaim for example has more Riders than it knows what to do with.
I want 13 like Ryuuki or 32 like Hibiki
No MoTW or anything just plain rider on rider
>Rider on Rider
I'd be very happy with this.
Micchy you absolute madman.
Does it cost less for them to make like 15 rider suits (with multiples of each for various needs) or 2 rider suits (with multiples) and ~30 monster suits (some having multiples for bigger names like the main antagonists)?
Three or four. Kuuga did good with one, and Den-O/W did fine with just two, but I'm glad we get three or more most of the time.
Two Rider shows are just harder to carry which is why they rarely do them.
Yeah I was more talking about how Oren and Joey, and then the other Yggdrasil Riders don't get a lot of development. For some of them it doesn't matter (Hase and Sid get killed off pretty early on), but for the ones left it's really obvious where they drop the ball.
Uh-huh, I've just remembered there were two types of mooks, the pre-MOTW type and the grunt fodder type, they're like the Ganma that way funnily enough.
A man chewing on balls before getting chased by a sexy lady.
I miss Drive.
main character doing non-rider things
even something as simple as takeru just kinda flying around in the sky while hanging out with the hoodies is good enough.
that's probably the only part of the OP I like and I'm gonna be upset if it gets cut for the usual "we gotta shoehorn in the secondary" parts come his introduction.
>We'll have best arc in 1080 soon
For one you had Amazon's extreme brutality gaining the ire of parent's groups across Japan, and two Kamen Rider was about to undergo a network change. The new network not only didn't want to deal with Amazon's baggage or forcing a retool, but they wanted a new Rider to bring in viewers. So Amazon was given an early grave and Stronger was born.
I just noticed this while watching Yuru Yuri.
Remember when cutting yourself, always go across the road, not down the street!
In the words of Meg Griffin: Side ways for attention, long way for results.
My dad watches it and American Dad on BBC Three every night before bed. I have near-enough every episode of both shows in my head as background noise now and I'm getting kinda tired of it tbh
>golgom starts a kickstarter only to drive humanity into despair by never delivering and then spends the money on starting a coffee company so they can keep people working longer hours, thus making them more miserable, thus making them despair
Why can't golgom just go back to sending monsters out to kill people
So guys I'm going to try and get a nice clean template of the Ghost symbol from this past episode that I can use to carve in a pumpkin this year for Halloween. If you can contribute a good screenshot or anything, it'd be helpful, I'll post it here when it's done.
Sometimes when I see a guy on a motorcycle drive past I think in the back of my mind that could be a Rider on his way to kick some monsters in the face.
I dunno, I just like the thought that people you meet on the street could secretly be superheroes.
Wizard gets SO CLOSE to being pretty good several times and then just keeps deciding "nah fuck it, that's too much work".
That's really where most of the anger and frustration at it comes from. It could've been legitimately pretty cool and never quite gets it.
Just got to Rider Mach, he's the best third rider that could have happened. He's pulling all sorts of V3 shenanigans and his base costume is already better than Drive's. Does he stay this awesome?
Imagine if you had to deal with Urataros' shit every fucking morning.
I am so sorry anon.
He goes through the most suffering since Gills. But his final fight is the best fight in the whole season, it's fantastic
I'll just tell you right now, the smug asshole shenanigans are a facade, and it starts cracking pretty fast after his introduction.
He gets a really awesome conclusion to his arc though, so stick with it.
I don't think they were entirely a lie but he was definitely over acting to keep people from noticing his issues
>tfw mach will never get a v-cinema and he's being relegated to a fucking novel
I just wanted ot see more mach shenanigans from when he was still having fun in america or something
Yeah, it was the over confidence that he totally has everything under control.
When he starts stressing out about his self-imposed time limit (kill all the Roidmudes before Kiriko finds out), he starts panicking and it falls away.
Fuck, still his costume is the best, I'm disappointed they didn't make it the main rider's outfit. Though Drive isn't that bad outside of Technic.
Man, people hate too much on Type Technic.
It isn't perfectly looking, but it's far from being as absolutely horrible as it's made out to be. I like the robot-y aesthetics of it, and it does look better with a less in-your-face shade of green.
At least it's ITS OWN FUCKING SUIT instead of lazily kitbashing pieces of others, sometimes without even bothering with paint.
Fuck I fell bad it took me a while to get that.
It's mostly the crown and the vertical chest wheel. Aside from that it's good, I even like the dashed yellow lines on the side. However the chest wheel looks really stupid, and when the actor in the suit starts doing that really goofy robot walk it just takes me out of it.
Also, pay close attention to Shinnosuke's waist when they transform.
It's main problem is that for a solid concept on paper, it didn't really translate too well into an actual suit.
Which happens quite a lot with Rider, really, be it a poor visual transition into 3D or a poor practical transition into 3D (sup Kiva chestpiece)
It's shit but honestly if you get acclimated to things like what they did with fucking Den-O then of course it'll seem acceptable.
Granted I hate any kind of stylization in subs that aren't karaoke and even things as simple as the effects OL does bug me (not that they're anywhere near as bad as TVN), but still.
>you will never have a sister like Airi
I'd squeeze Yurusen's insides, if you catch my drift.
She becomes a gold-digging bitch in Wizard though.
tfw my big sister is a manipulative, selfish, horrible human being and seeing good sibling relationships in shows hits me hard every time
Aw man, that sucks.
I am the big sister and I do my best to try and look after my little bro. Still haven't quite talked him into watching Kamen Rider though
I just don't like the head and shoulders. They're just so bulky and boxy and with the tire across the neck it looks akward.
But then I unironically love the goofy ass abomination that is Type Formula so what the fuck do I know?
I'm sure your little bro will appreciate JUSTICE
I've mostly cut her out of my life so it's not like I have to deal with her shit anymore
That's alright anon, no ones family is perfect. Just don't let it get to you and keep moving forward.
I appreciate how much of a powerhouse Formula was portrayed as, it made for some really cool scenes
I hate to see families broke apart like that, but if she's giving you that much grief, then yeah it's probably for the best to keep your distance.
I talk to my little bro about what I'm watching, which figures came in the mail, things like that, and he likes what he hears about the shows, it's just that he's in the middle of grad school and doesn't have the time to marathon shit right now. One of these days when I go home over the holidays I'm just going to bring down my external hard drive and make him watch Kuuga.
>good relation with sister
>but me being a dick headed teenager absolutely murdered any nerdy interests she had
Faiz has the same lead writer as Agito, but Inoue when not being restrained by editorial or other writers can be a monster that shits up characters and tosses them into rivers left and right.
Faiz has awesome suits and cool fights, and I really do like the main protagonist and his main rival (Kiba, I mean, fuck Kusaka), but it gets pretty infuriating at times.
Faiz has a lot of potential. Great suti designs, great lore (Especially the dynamic of the three main Gears), great ideas for character dynamics, great fights, insert songs that really mesh well with characters and generally just sound fucking great, and some of (in my opinion) Takaiwa's best suit acting.
It is an actual reason for the fights to randomly end.
It is no different than the main character looking at the floor for .05 of a second, and then the MOTW is gone without a trace.
My biggest beefs with the show are that Kusaka being a manipulative little sociopath drags everyone else down with him, Mari is useless, and everyone has a turn being hit with the retard stick in order to keep the drama and tragedy extra fresh.
That and no other Rider has such a qt smile to protect.
I believe Faiz does more things right than wrong. It's one of my favorite series.
It helps that I find Kusaka's shenanigans more amusing/hilarious than infuriating.
I'd be fine with Kusaka being evil so long as there was more communication and less people were easily convinced by him. At least he's gotten his necessary punishments in the show, novel, and Kamen Rider Taisen.
It does a lot of things right... but then falls all over itself because the things it does wrong are much greater scale. Awkward writing, questionable motivations, and very inconsistent characterization can really fuck a show.
I screamed out in joy when this happened
and got sad because I realized I'll nver hate someone so hard again.
Out of all the things that happened in Faiz, I think the thing I'm most angry at is the fact that Faiz's upgrades got dropped on him out of nowhere with zero build-up (along with Blaster form only being used like twice in the actual show).
going full on Magneto at the end, and never getting a chance to be the hero we deserved until he sacrifices himself in the final battle.
He deserved so much better.
The best part about his death is that it's foreshadowed about 35 episodes before with the first time we meet him, when Takumi tells him "not to get kicked by a horse and die", and then he gets killed by Kiba aka the Horse Orphenoch.
A simple line that at first sounds like Takumi being a snide dick like always turning out to be a major twist. One of the better moments of the show's writing.
While not foreshadowed, it didn't come out of nowhere. Kusaka was gone for an extended time when he came back with Accel.
I was glad Blaster wasn't used much because it was an ugly suit
I agree with the Kiba thing, but it made sense from his point of view iirc after Yuka died
It was the exact same problem I had with Ryuki Survive. It felt even worse because I watched Faiz right after Ryuki
I think Inoue at one point just said "fuck it I'll never top Agito again, gonna stick to just comedies from now on"
>I think Inoue at one point just said "fuck it I'll never top Agito again, gonna stick to just comedies from now on"
He didn't. And Inoue peaked with Jetman. A shame he didn't head write more sentai
Go watch Jetman. Trust me.
you might disagree with me over it being superior to Agito, but you won't be disappointed either way.
Plus Jetman has Amemiya on it too. I think it wa their first project together
Sorry didn't make it so clear, I was talking about Jetman
I don't think anything will ever beat out Makai Senki as my favourite Toku, but KR Blade, W and Magiranger come pretty close
I like all of Drive suits, and it has sort of been puzzling me why they click so well aside from the vehicle motif. Recently I believe that it is because they remind me of Metal Heroes which is my favorite of the 3 major Bandai Toei toku franchises.
Like take the iconic Kamen Rider compund eyes out and replace them with the iconic Metal Heroes almond eyes. Then maybe give the suits or some of them the metal human face. Sell that as a reboot of Metal Heroes in the toyetic 2010s era of Bandai & Toei and I would believe you.
The suits just have a lot going on that makes your brain tick; something that I really like about Metal Heroes suits (GARO suits as well). This includes simpler suits like Chaser's and Mach's which feel like they have a lot of though put into every inch of their suits. Even some Metal Heroes are living robot vehicle people like Bikel who did the wheel on the chest thing almost two decades ago.
That's why things like Technic of Formula never bothered me. Only Deadheat bothered me for its cheapness, but I grew to tolerate Gou's. At least his felt more natural while Shin's looks like Drive skinned Mach alive and is wearing him like a pelt.
I want a series that is an evolving kaijin who fights evil Kamen Riders in an alternate reality. No established Riders. just a new Rider every week with a different cheap gimmick. The kaijin evolves new forms as it fights stronger and stronger Riders, eventually fighting Riders with form-changes and even final forms.
It culminates in a Kamen Rider Taisen where it ends up in the universe where the established Riders exist and mistakenly starts hunting them. Eventually it comes face to face with its father
Shinand chooses to take on the title of Rider itself and bring true justice to its home universe.
I don't think anyone liked Drive Deadheat, which is probably why they phased it out entirely by the time they got Formula. Even Technic and Wild kept showing up after that, sporadically yeah, but Drive Deadheat was just fucking gone.
Super Deadheat though, that's a suit I could've used more of. I'm also honestly surprised the Figuarts doesn't include an alternate broken helmet head considering Bandai's recent boner for those.
It didn't really have any purpose for Tomari to use in-universe anyway. It couldn't counter Heart the few times they fought after the beginning stretch because he got his slowdown upgraded and it didn't have much merit as a form on its own either since it'd just burn him out without the ability to Sudden Deadheat like Gou.
>he fails to get the fifteenth icon
>gives the speech
>the Ore eyecon turns into the fifteenth one because he's now a true hero
Not going to lie, that'd be great to see if they can pull it off properly.
So what's the deal with the Core? Is it just a blade?
How does this help Chaser? Why is it gold?
One of the early Decade rumours was that instead of unique forms, he'd fight alongside allied Riders (Final Form Rides, travelling with Kuuga) or steal things from enemy Rider's universes to fight with (he'd contract with a Mirror Monter from Ryuki's world, take a Kivat from Kiva's, a Zecter from Kabuto's, etc.)
That would also give him a reason to stay Ghost. Like, he's got 15 so he won't die, but his soul's an Eyecon now and he needs something from the Ganma to reverse it. That could give us a lot of mileage until his final form and fit with the idea that the plot will change by cour rather than a single 49 episode story.
So what was the Dead Zone supposed to be?
The Hermit is shady as fuck, but I'm kind of hoping that he turns out to be like Kougami was in OOO and never actually becomes an antagonist despite using their hero for their own aims.
He's too much right now just farting around Takeru's home and trolling Onari.
>Apparently it gives Machine Chaser a horn
That's incredibly pointless.
It's some form of energy that Dead Heat and Heart can tap into?
>Takeru gets all 15 souls
>Hermit takes them, and becomes evil incarnate
>Yurusen remains pure
Nah, even in the early episodes Ankh had his own motivations and agency.
Yurusen has only shown up to say "oh by the way here's how you use your belt/get new eyecons/transform your bike into a giant iguana to ride" and then fucks off to wherever afterwards.
Hibiki is one of my favorite shows, it's just so damn comfy, marathoned it in one weekend
I'm watching Kiva right now and I'm having a lot of fun, my only complaint would be the ridiculous amounts of cuckolding, not even kidding
Going to watch Wizard, my last Heisei Rider, after Kiva
>tfw there isn't a single Rider show you disliked
The first couple episodes consisted of him and Eiji arguing about how to fight the Yummies. Ankh wanted to let more people get hurt so that they could collect as many medals as possible and Eiji wasn't having with that shit.
Throughout most of the series there's a lot of conflict between Ankh and the other characters with their differing base motivations, even though they have an uneasy truce, as Ankh reminds Hina and Eiji multiple times, he's perfectly willing to let them all hang so that he can get his medals back and fully restore himself.
Why is gaim a best series? Why is micchy so qt? Why is Kaito so Kawaiito. Why is Takatora such a TakaWhora. Will we get to see peach girl's peach shaped bottom? Will Sid ever get to pop his cherry? Will the rest of team gaim ever be important ever? Will kouta-san stop being so irrational and giving micchy the headpains? Will Hase ever get over his food poisoning? Will joey ever get the ribbed rolling pin out of his ass? Will monseur alfonzo ever stop shoving ribbed penis shaped objects into joey's now lose anus?
Find out next time on DragonGaim Z
>unknowingly but constantly sucks sengoku's dick
>Always up sid's ass
>has a little brother fetish
>literally all his friends were so fed up with his slutty ass that they drove him into the woods
>is now banging some old man in the middle of the said woods for shelter
>Why is gaim a best series?
Well I found your problem there. Gaim is great but far from the best.
mfw he died again in the movie and they showed an alternative extended version of his death in one of the Super Hero Taisen
Toei knows what Rider fans want
>What is Knight, Chalice, Zeronos, Gattack, Accel, Meteor, Beast, Mach
>all these anons with shit taste in secondaries
JUST mayo your shit up fam
He did a lot. Like, if you hadn't seen any other Rider before and didn't know the formula, you could interpret Ankh as a potential final villain all the way up to the final arc. And yet, he's also a massive ally, even if he doesn't like to say that, and the final TaJaDor is so satisfying.
That's what I love about him, he's not your average non-human red monster ally like every other Kobayashi show. He genuinely doesn't give a shit about most people outside of the core group, he doesn't grow to love humanity or anything. He likes the senses he gets while he's part of Shingo, he's willing to manipulate everyone to get ice cream and Medals, he just wants to be as complete as possible and slowly learns that his allies give him a sense of completeness that even his Medals don't. His selfish fire and desire contrasts well with Maki's emptiness and wish for oblivion.
>"Oldfags" trying to Showa the heisei babbies how cool they are.
