Why isn't there any Kamen Rider fitness training things?
I'm not sure cybernetic enhancements fall under the category of "fitness?"
>Shockers newest scheme
>fad diet that turns people into monsters
Is that a thing that's been done? I feel that's something at least one of these evil organizations has tried already.
I'm really liking Ghost's design a lot more than I feel like I should
It's just a hodgepodge of different design elements, that feel like they should clash but I love it
Have you tried Taekwondo?
Yeah I think they've done a good job so far on all the ones we've seen
i imagined someone on the design team saw the artwork of that guy who drew riders in jackets and went with it
always keep your garrens close by, anon
I've finished up Decade with Movie Wars 2010. All 31 episodes and all of the movies, even the Chou Den-O crossover. It wasn't the monstrosity I've always heard it was, but it was pretty fucking mediocre and every time it reached some real heights, like World of Hibiki and World of Black/RX it immediately fell through with the next episode, and then it just fell apart completely at the end.
Still, the cast were all pretty fun, especially Grandpa and Kiva-la's interactions in the background. Hell towards the end I went from hating Kaitou to begrudgingly liking him and wanting more.
But that ending just wasn't satisfying at all. Oh well.
>Natsumi and Kaitou's actors both cry when given their flowers
>Masahiro just fucking laughs
Even then he knew Toei wouldn't get rid of him that easily.
That's Brain, anon.
Ghost said "we'll be seeing him soon" in the Drive finale, do you think that means Shin is going to be a minor character in Ghost?
Or was that just shouting forward to the obligatory movie wars movie?
No, he said it again at the end of the crossover
I dunno, all that stuff about him still being a Kamen Rider and a cop and him taking a place in the first division, it'd be nice to have a few episodes involving the police where he shows up. It'd also be a good way to strengthen the continuity even more like it seems they're trying to do by having Ghost cameo earlier like he did.
>I don't think they'd want Drive in Ghost at all
Considering we haven't had past Riders appearing in their successor's shows outside the movies since the Showa era, I don't know where you'd get the idea they'd do that in the first place.
>when they were trying to hurry Drive out as quick as possible.
Where do you get the impression they were trying to rush Drive out? The show ran its course just like every other one before it and it still has Movie Wars and V-Cinema's coming.
Is anyone doing anything toku or rider related for halloween? I got the idea from /m/ a while back to make and give out cell medals with my candy to trick-or-treaters, so I'm doing that again this year. I made cast molds of my own OOO medals so I can knock out a bunch of copies easily. Because what is halloween really about if not greed?
Halloween isn't celebrated here so I'll probably just watch Carranger and Drive alternately while drunk with the idea that at some point I won't be able to remember which plot belongs to which show. I already managed to confuse an episode of Gekiranger and Gaim. Don't ask how.
Your idea sounds cute though.
Usually the only time the secondary looks this much like the primary is when it's a legion of Riders show, like in Ryuki or Kaubto or Gaim.
According to Rider Wiki it's a new guy
Here's a big fuck you to Nikola Tesla: the Electric Gunma's giant version is inspired by tesla coils and the alleged Philadelphia Experiment.
They made Tesla the villain who steals Edison's power.
>Thought that was just a form of his.
No, god no. It's Kamen Rider Specter, a completely different guy.
>They even have the same belt
And so did everyone in Gaim except the Energy Riders.
Finally just got around to watching Ghost.
I can't help but laugh at the fact that the bike is such an after thought in Kamen Rider now that it literally just appears out of nowhere. I mean I love that the bike transforms with him just like in Agito or J, but where did the bike even come from? How the hell was he even riding a bike if he was dead in that scene? Did everyone else just see a riderless bike zipping around by itself since they couldn't see him? Why even bother wearing a helmet and gloves if he's a fucking ghost?
That aside, the death-horse bike is pretty baller. It just saddens me a little that half the namesake of the show is little more than an obligatory afterthought now. I mean I'm not asking for constant bike stunts all the time, but at least pretend the bike matters a little. The show is afterall called Kamen RIDER for a reason.
It appears out of nowhere because it's a ghost bike.
He can ride it because it's a ghost bike.
No one can see it because it's a ghost bike.
He wears helmet and gloves because
Ghost is a socially responsible children's show that portrays the proper use of safety equipment on motorized vehicles.
>Medusa gets backstabbed
>uses stone powers once throughout the show
>uses magic eye powers on Nitoh
>he doesn't turn to stone
>sparks fly instead
what the fuck man
she deserved better
>a socially responsible children's show that portrays the proper use of safety equipment on motorized vehicles.
Someone post that screenshot of Goto asking if Kamen Rider's mask counts as a helmet, I don't have it right now.
I would have thought the fact that the bike came out of nowhere would be implication enough that he simply owns the bike and went home to get it (The death scene wasn't far from home, was it?)
> Why even bother wearing a helmet and gloves if he's a fucking ghost?
Habit, because he owns a bike. Also, ignoring saftety laws is not something a good role model does.
>Did everyone else just see a riderless bike zipping around by itself since they couldn't see him?
Looks like the bike goes invisible after transfomation, nobody was like "HOLY SHIT A GHOST BIKE" , they just reacted to the splitting table and stuff.
well it showed that clothes he wears are rendered invisible. When he took off his boots to go inside they could see them right?
So maybe when he gets on his motorcycle its also rendered invisible through similar laws?
>good way to strengthen the continuity even more like it seems they're trying to do
The W/Fourze/Drive team are the only ones who give a toss about continuity. Now that Drive is no longer the current show everything goes back to pretending it's the only one that ever happened, except once a year when the previous show is acknowledged for a crossover movie and once a year when EVERY TOEI TOKU EVER happened in the same world without explaination, for one movie.
total toku newfag here, but how does the rider continuity work? I've cottoned on that it's not like in sentai where they're all protectors of this one earth and people in-universe are aware of the fact that they get a new team every year, but are all the riders from different continuities except for when the $$$ calls for a crossover?
in heisei, each season is a different world, up until Decade happened, then starting with W they're supposed to be the same world.
But shit happens and probably a few years from now a new Decade will fix it again. Just enjoy the ride
I don't even think sentai is like that Gokaiger was a special case because it was an anniversary series.
and ninninger is a special case as well because its a parody/ninja anniversary thing
outside of those two shows I'm pretty sure other teams are never acknowledged outside of crossover movies
now that rider has started doing this last episode crossover shit, its makes the whole thing a muddled mess
so yeah just pretend like there isnt any
so showa = same world (?), heisei = diff worlds, Decade = ???, W> = same world (same world as showa?) ?
Ninninger is an anniversary series? I guess that explains a lot.
Furthermore, is Fourze good and are there serviceable subs available?
my friend said there was a lot of romance which I don't like but he might have been exaggerating
The continuity is really weird from Fourze on or so because a bunch of series have the characters with no knowledge of previous Riders despite apocalyptic events because you gotta have that theme of 'what the fuck is a Kamen Rider anyway and how do I become a good one'.
>like in sentai where they're all protectors of this one earth and people in-universe are aware of the fact that they get a new team
That's very rarely true. Many Sentai stories are imcompatible and only a handful of shows ever acknowledge others. And it's the same for Rider nowadays.
As mentioned above, the guys in charge of Kamen Rider W, Fourze and Drive actually decided to Give A Fuck and try to create a consistant continuity for W-onwards but every other show has completley ignored it because writers have their own special snowflake ideas that they don't like to share or something. I don't know, I blame OOO's writer for this shit. The OOO movies fit into the W-verse but they don't fit into the OOO TV timeline itself.
As for classic Rider (Showa stuff), short version is that it all happened in a single timeline. Long version is that there were a couple of reboots that were retconned into sequels.
Man, look at me crap on maybe I should have summed all this up with this:
>how does the rider continuity work?
hm. I'm just going to pretend it all happened in the same timeline and that riders are pulling Mariah Careys up until they get paid to fight together, it's more amusing that way and in the long run probably will make more sense than whatever these writers shit out
They were urban legends in Fourze. Who also attached Kuuga to its world when clearly the Grongi events should be memorable in some way.
There is a romance but it's not really focused on
Fourze is the most anime-esque Kamen Rider series out there. One of my personal favorites. There's full subs for it by Over-Time in the OP.
I dunno what you're friend is talking about though. There isn't much romance at all. Lots of friendship though. And space.
I can't even imagine what you'd get out
I'm not much of an anime watcher, but I am big into yankii fashion and FRIENDSHIP so I'll get started on that download then if it comes that highly recommended!
As for my friend... well, he's a romantic guy I guess. Too many waifus for one man, I swear.
I'd watch it anyway
two animes I've never seen but have been interested in for a while... huh. Guess I should watch them after all if I like this.
lol sounds like something to look forward to
especially if he's handsome
oh, well, in that case
Hongo was a much better rider than Ichimonji.
Transforming through the bike is cooler than the Henshin pose too.
Episode 19 was a great episode all around though. Still hoping for the mid-20s episodes to improve, SoaringSquirrel was a good step in the right direction.
Anyone else ever annoyed at how women, no matter how competent they are supposed to be, never accomplish anything without men's help in showa? I'm not meaning to sound like a tumblrina or anything, it's just annoying when fucking Taki can jump a 10 foot iron fence without a second thought but the female agent he works with can't dispatch more than two Shocker mooks before inevitably getting captured. Hell, she can't even pull herself out of the water without Taki coming over and pulling her up. It just gets kind of stupid sometimes.
No ordinary man has the physical and mental prowess to survive shocker's cybernetic conversion process.
Nor does any ordinary man have the physical and mental prowess to survive Fujioka's own martial arts discipline.
>Considering we haven't had past Riders appearing in their successor's shows outside the movies since the Showa era, I don't know where you'd get the idea they'd do that in the first place.
There were those cameos in the webvideos in Fourze episode 2 and the Wizard 2 parter at the end. Ghost will be running during the actual anniversary date, so we might something there.
Well, Taki is Taki. None of the other people who pop up working with him can handle many Shocker soldiers, male or female.
I don't know what you dislike about Ichimonji, but there'll be a run of episodes kind of like those Hongo ones post-accident, where Ichimonji barely appears out of suit (apparently he was busy with some other production for a time).
The best Drive character in glorious 1080p.
>Kill la Kill
But that's already happened...
Parts that needs to be included with the inevitable Type Tridoron Figuart.
I am boredom and boredom is I; I'm going to bed.
Stay dry, Anon. Get hype for Ghost subs.
I just watched the Drive Final Live here in Tokyo. Go cried, Kiriko cried, and Shin was crying before he even got to say his farewells. He then thanked the cast individually making half of them cry while crying himself the entire time. This is the kind of guy we need.
Yeah it was based on a Tesla coil and the Philadelphia Experiment for some reason. Though that's more of a ufo conspiracy theorist thing. Though speaking of conspiracies I'd love a Skullman type rider with a They Live plot.
Why does it seem like Decade is a popular rider?
They've made 3 versions of his Figuarts already. I don't remember the last time a rider received this many updates for a toy.
I don't get the series' story either. So Tsukasa is a random guy who travels to alternate Rider universes and has to beat them up as Decade so that all the alternate worlds won't merge together and destroy everything?
Isn't that saving the alternate universes and his own? Why is he called the destroyer? Who is Narutaki? Who is the real villain in the show? Why is the TV series ending so bad (durr Diend shot Decade in the face, the end)
If Ghost counts as black then so does OOO.
Does Final Fantasy X count as an anime?
Lightning Deer = Makes the shittiest FF protagonist
Mach Jaguar = GO FAST
Kick Hopper = RIDA KICK
Metal Trilobyte = I'M HARDMAN
Time Scarab = ZA WARUDO
Absorb Queen = Allows for card combining
Fusion Jack = Jack Form, lets you fly and shit
Evolution King = God Mode
Frog Upper = RIDA PANCHI
Fire Fly = Shit's on fire, yo
Drop Whale = Lets you do that one kick Kazuma Kiryu can do in like, Yakuza 4 and 5
Gemini Zebra = Check 'em
Scope Bat = More accurate shots
After that all I remember are Tornado and Blizzard from Chalice and Leangle.
Three isn't really a lot. They never did his form changes besides Complete either. Those would just be the other suits with Decade's belt, but there's no way to do that without leaving your Decade beltless.
Decade's popular because he's unique and cool. If we were to judge DCD based on its own merits though it's wouldn't be wrong to consider it the worst Heisei show though.
But Rule of Cool decrees that we don't.
>So Tsukasa is a random guy
That's the starting point of explaining this mess.
Tsukasa's not random, apparently he was preselected by Dai-Shocker (Hence why he's a general Mr. Perfect) to be the Destroyer of Worlds. His big goal was to connect everything in order to destroy it according to Dai-Shocker, and ni the movies he goes with it to the point he becomes the next Great Leader.
No one knows who Narutaki is, we possibly would have gotten an explanation in the original cut of his movie, but we didn't.
And the real villain is
Toei for allowing a change in writers.
>Why is he called the destroyer?
Because he has to kill the Riders. Also, it was his world hopping in the first place that causes the worlds to accelerate towards destruction (he creates bridges between worlds, which are then used by Dai-Shocker to easily go between worlds and also are the cause of the fusion of worlds). So, in the end, it's all his fault, even if not intentionally.
>(durr Diend shot Decade in the face, the end)
You know they redid the ending later, right? Although it was mostly using stock footage...
Reposting this since you guys liked it so much last time.
It's simply a case of the odds not being in his favor since they still haven't announced him. It's almost certain that Ghost Figuarts are getting announced at the end of the month and we haven't even seen as much as an unpainted prototype for Tridoron.
Drive and Machine Chaser was announced at last years and he's also on the poster.
fuck you and your shitty subs. your opinion isn't valid cause you may as well have not even been watching the same show.
they were hella gay and nothing you say can change that. faggot
Nope, those are actually spirits inside those eyecons. In fact, the only one I would call into question is Ore, since Takeru can't be both himself and the Parka, can he?
Anon, just because they didn't call each other Broeiji and Broankh doesn't mean they weren't bros. Sorry to ruin your headcanon.
I hope you realize that by shipping two male characters with probably the least prominent capable romantic connection (compare Kaito's legit love for Tsukasa) and refusing to believe anything but your own headcanon makes you worse than Nihon because it means you're a tumblrite fujoshi.
Honestly the only medication for your current state is suicide.
>implying two men that deeply love each other have to be fucking
Men can just have deep platonic love for one another. Pretty sure this was the case here, with Phillip and Shotaro too.
Kaito totally wants Tsukasa's sea cucumber though
There's one thing with ships but Daiki Kaito is a legitimate homosexual who si in love with Tsukasa - and is done a hell of a lot better than homosexual characters in a lot of other media because they never make a point to bring it up beyond being one of his motivations. And even then, they never overtly say it.
I love you OZC
Video game/fantasy rider, main rider is a monster and his rider form is a knight or something I guess. Dunno, might wind up like gaim with like 10 riders running around. Maybe a Rider VR MMO? I dunno.
There's also how they forced the Beat Riders from street gangs to street dancers (although if they had kept gangs, it seems like Gaim would be even closer to Devil Survivor...), and after that, also cut what was supposed to be their set up in order to jump direct into the action, which leaves them without a proper origin in the show, making the importance that people give those groups feel unearned at times in those early episodes.
Kaito character in general was undermined, since he was supposed to remain stronger than Kouta through the show, not playing catch up, but Bandai forced otherwise since they wanted the main Rider to be stronger than the others (and then they're surprised when the secondary stuff doesn't move?).
>Urobuchi said the dancer idea was his though.
It wasn't Toei that forced the dancers idea, but the gangs idea was rejected and then Utobuchi had to come up with something else for the street groups, and dancers only came from that.
Someone requested ghost on his bike the other weekend. Here is broh
>CHOCOLATE CELL MEDALS
I'm honestly astounded that Toei went to the trouble of actually filming new fight scenes for the past Riders in that Fourze episode when they could've easily used stock footage from their shows. Piss-poor attempt at making them look vintage tho.
So other people would do the heavy work instead of him having to do it on his own...? Or maybe his character was way different in the early stages before the dance thing was added.
im trying to make a friend watch Fourze, give me cool and funny webms plz
I don't know what I should expect
Fuck I'd probably watch it
How about some gifs from stage shows?
Shadowmoon's Creation King form is that deep crimson. In SIC, he becomes Creation King after becoming White RX (Which is lietrally Black RX but silver.) and is basically a fucking GOd.
The video it's from is great. The announcer says there's one more rider who's going to appear, one that's red, and the riders on stage keep trying to figure out which of them she's talking about. Then Gaim and Wizard basically freak out when Red Shadowmoon appears.
Here's one just for you, then.
Sweet motherfuck, what a form. Also, that entrance.
This is amazing
>Fourze trying to eat Baron's banana twintail
It is one of the more better form reveals in Rider.
>PTSD from seeing the monster that straight up murdered you
>suddenly full of doubt that makes sense for someone in that situation
>Motivational cuisine dining to kickass music
>that new Henshin pose
Yeah, I'm the same dude
Tumblr is melonkoi :^)
I did that awhile ago, but it's kinda ass. At the time I only had a blurry toy catalogue leak to go off of.
Because Decade is a popular Rider. His show was shit but it was a commercial success, and the character and actor are generally pretty beloved in the fandom regardless.
>They've made 3 versions of his Figuarts already. I don't remember the last time a rider received this many updates for a toy.
Most Riders other than a couple Showa ones recieve two or more Figuarts due to form changes and the like. Decade got three originally to include his base form, Violent Emotion which is basically the same but still, and Decade Complete. The newest release is part of the Shikocchou Seihou line of premium Figuarts, which aims to bring older, out of date releases up to a new, much higher standard of quality with more accurate proportions, a shit ton more detail, and if pic related is correct, a more suit-accurate color scheme the previous releases failed to capture.
It's a joke from Kabuto. During an advertisement for God Speed Love, some of the Riders from Kabuto watched footage of older Riders, one of whom was Stronger. Kagami says that Stronger reminds him of Kabuto and Tendou says "If he's Stronger, then I'm Strongest".
Anon please, that scene needs the subs.
>It was much more of a Kids vs Adults kind of story
>Delinquents instead of dancers
>Kaito was unbeatable to Kouta
>Micchy dies at the end of cour 3 (Episode 36)
>Ryouma dies early and Kaito takes his belt for upgrade
>Sid gets killed in episode 11 by Micchy
>Civilians getting killed like early heisei
>Redue was supposed to be an Overlord that reconciles with humans
Also Urobuchi confirmed that they don't give the writers the chance to write every action scene in details. His fight scenes were obvious, like the one in Episode 23, even that was watered-down though.
What I would give to watch the Rider shows of a parallel universe were they were made as the original plan intended, OOO and Gaim in particular sound especially interesting. Come to think of it, have we got any of this sorta stuff about Drive yet?
A lot of time these so called "changes" came from some bullshit person on 2ch. Hell a lot of people here thought Duke was going to be Baron's upgrade when the toy scans came out.
>I haven't been watching a lot anime lately
>been binge-watching JAG up to Season 3
>remember watching IBO
>suddenly MANLY LAWYERS BRINGING EVIL TO JUSTICE WITH THE POWER OF UCMJ
Huh. My mind's been going to weird places lately.
It's almost impossible for things to go as planned, since in Toku they move very fast and I think since the earthquake, they don't want to show more graphic things.
Don't know about drive though.
Gaim's Japanese wikipedia entry.
Kamen Rider, but with magical girls and ultraman and other japanese superheroes.
Might be neat.
>as someone who never watched it, how come?
All Riders returning, even if only suits seemed to get a lot of attention, both on tv (the show got big ratings boosts every time a new AU Rider appeared) and merchandising. The return of the Showa Riders in Decade's solo movie after 20 years also made the number 1 Rider movie box office.
To be honest, I'm actually surprised that after Decade's success Toei didn't wait just 5 years or so for another show like it.
Considering they didn't even wait another year to try and replicate the success of All-Riders, and continue to every year since then I'm more surprised they didn't launch Decade 2 as soon as W was over.
I disliked Rider Chaser originally, but it grew on me by the end. I feel like a lot of the backlash it got was because it was just nowhere near as nice a suit as Mashin Chaser.
I'm part of the minority who really likes Rider Chaser, although I get why you wouldn't like it
>TFW everyone hates Type Formula but you can't help but love it
It's such a dumb, clunky suit but fuck
>Go for a walk
>Come home shower
>So sure the new episode of Ghost would be out
So get this.
There's these ghosts.
And then there's a Kamen Rider.
Some kind of Kamen Rider ghost.
How would a Chess Rider work? I've been trying to think something up, and I had to bring in animal totems for for weapons/power ups in a sort of W or Fourze set up.
That'd make it a lot better but it needs more purple as well. I get that his thing was the Kikaider bilateral split in his mask, but the random splash off purple just in his mask doesn't work.
It played a little into the story too, with Bishop not becoming the final boss himself and instead reviving King because can a Bishop never become a King even if said Bishop literally drives the enemy King to try and abort himself.
A Chess Rider could work really well, but I think it needs something more. Like either a secondary motif to combine it with or an expanded motif that included board games in general. Because you could have the main Rider go through all the pieces as power ups but then the motif is too enclosed on him alone. Alternatively you could have be part of a larger cast that represents all the pieces, but then he has nothing to power up into because the rest of the cast are already all the other pieces.
For the expanded motif, you got Chess, Dominoes, Cards, Majong, Checkers etc. Stuff like that so the main Rider doesn't have to carry the whole motif mostly by himself.
>Kamen Rider Checkmate
>Pawn (Base form)
>Bishop form (Sword)
>Knight form (Polearm/spear)
>Rook form (Cannon/Gun)
>King form (Something like Kachidoki)
>Queen form (ultimate form)
>Kamen Rider Blackre (Black-Reh)
>uses dual shields shaped like checker pieces
>Can switch between red (defence) and black (offence)
Wouldn't Queen be Kachidoki?
I mean even the base format Kachidoki's armor is set up on could be used to make armor simulate a Queen's dress. That would be AWESOME... but weird considering you're gonna have the big Mid season upgrade be a man in what I imagine would be a very gaudy dress.
Nah, King should be the final form but it should be versatile and barely stronger than any of his base forms until he uses castling with Rook form to make the true final form. Queen is mid-season upgrade.
SHTZ isn't worth watching for the Wizard parts. He disappears during most of the movie, and then returns to take over the final battle, but for some reason in spite of the movie coming out around Infinity's debut he only had the first three or so Dragon forms in the movie.
Movie Battle Sengoku is worth watching for the Wizard conclusion, but Ultimatum's Wizard story is very pointless.
I could see that if it is a multi Rider. Queen is basically the one thing that makes me question a Chess theme ever being a motif for the standard run of the mill format of Rider.
Japanese boys wouldn't want to roleplay as a Queen unless they are all in the closet. And it is not like you can play it off as a joke form because the Queen is such a big deal it wouldn't make sense.
What if it was based around collecting
I had an idea for a fanfic where someone's a Sengoku Rider, but their Jimber/Jinba/Raiment forms are also famous jackets of characters across different shows.
You don't see me complaining.
What if the King form is incredibly powerful, but incredibly slow?
>implying toei found your shitty fanfiction idea and stole it
>>uses dual shields shaped like checker pieces
Do you even Dream Vegas?
Tire Koukan figures are a treasure trove of body horrors.
I don't notice that, but if it became a major motif we could have have something interesting going on.
Now this is sort of unrelated, but another Anon talked about the idea of a Rider whose gimmicks was belts. Like, Each belt had different powers and forms. Kabuto's Rider System was similar to that. You had a belt, and different belt buckles that performed different finishers.
Monster based on Vase de Noces
His catch phrase is Be Kind Rewind and then his attacks make the monster reel back into the original tape
The belt is based off the front of a VCR and he will get powers like pause, fast forward and record (multiple copies)
>Roman themed monster
>and he will get powers like pause, fast forward and record (multiple copies)
>Now this is sort of unrelated, but another Anon talked about the idea of a Rider whose gimmicks was belts.
Oh hey that was me
I've seen 11 seasons of kr and don't remember seeing a monster do kung fu like this badass
The shows villain should be based on pirating who have corrupted other media
Torrent is the main boss and pirated dvds are the random mooks. Not sure what the right hand men would be
Make it more Gaia Memories and the like, the tapes possess people whose hearts resonate with their story. Like a woman who finds a battered old copy of a romantic comedy she loved as a teenager, and it reminds her of how alone she is now.
Also each episode needs a short clip from the monster's movie at the end, where each character in it is inexplicably played by
