I know people love the strike the gundam.
But I think it's fucking ugly besides the back packs
sword and launcher packs that don't really fit the armor or the color scheme
Seriously, the fuck are you on? I take some issues with the Strike's design myself, but I'd never describe the striker packs positively when it comes to aesthetics.
It's a flight pack that stores a pair of swords, twin linear guns, and a rocket anchor.
I really really love it since the HG was my 1st Gunpla.
Personally I think the Strike looks best without any striker packs attached at all.
They should have just replaced the Armor Schneiders with beam sabers and called it a day. Would have been a true AU successor to the RX-78.
Duel is the analog to the RX-78-1. It's color scheme is off compared to the Strike.
I get what you mean though, they are similar and the Duel has the integrated backpack thrusters with the beam saber mounts.
But striker packs or no, I like the Strikes lack of a huge built-in backpack. And when I made the comment about replacing the knives with beam sabers, I meant just that: put them in the skirt armor a la Zeta. They fit.
Now you have sleek modern gundam with the full traditional loadout but no ugly backpack.
I like Strike. I like Impulse even more. Impulse is one of the coolest Gundams. Sometimes I wonder if people let the quality of the shows impact what they think about the designs and concept.
Feel free to try.
Honestly he uses them in what, two episodes? Before being replaced at every opportunity with the sabers attached to the overused Aile pack.
They are a footnote in the Strikes arsenal, easily forgotten and quickly obsolete.
oh you mean the pixie gundam? it's a pair of beam knives though
He gets most of his named character wins in the Strike with those knives.
Against Miguel the first time. Against Yzak when he scars him, against Andy, and against the ocean guy as well as one of his minions.
You don't expect a knife in MS combat though, and surprising the enemy is always good.
>Oh shit he's reaching for his hip, a beam saber?
>Get shiv'd while you're trying to swing your longer and much more visible beam saber
They also double as throwing knives as well.
My personal opinion is that they should have gave the Strike derivatives a knife or two in addition to their new beam weapons.
Imma let ya finish..... but first I want to say that Launcher Strike is the best of all time.
I don't think it was supposed to be anyone's. I think it was supposed to be the 4th OP but when Bandai insisted they pimp out the Wings of Words guys (that's why the song was so weird btw, it wasn't planned but the suits insisted) they changed it to an insert song because they'd been hyping the song that TM specially wrote for Destiny for months so they had to use it somehow.
They also made a snippet of it the preview music for some reason. They were just sticking it anywhere they could be they had to use it.
