Well this wasn't too bad what did /m/ think of the best entry in the im@s franchise?
Sequel based on SP (Project Fairy led by a Shuu Shirakawa clone) never. Even a fake movie trailer would do.
I honestly thought it was terrible after a certain point. Them OPs though.
The problem was they basically pussyfooted and tried to have it two ways, and pleased no one. Mechafags were upset by the pointless Idolshit that pretty much vanished after a certain point. Idolfags were upset by the different character designs, personalities, VOICES, mecha, literally everything.
They should have gone all the way, full fucking Macross ripoff/Symphogear and had the idols actually be idols powering the robots with song.
>pointless Idolshit that pretty much vanished after a certain point
That's backwards though. There wasn't any idol stuff at first, then later in the series Haruka actually becomes an idol for a bit, but it's not even played as an important thing. All it really does is allow the opportunity for that scene where she finds recordings of her TV and radio appearances in Imber's database. Which was pretty cute.
I thought this was a pretty good "bishoujo mecha" show. I don't care about the Idolmaster franchise though, this is the only part of it that I've consumed
aside from doujins.
For an average person, they could go dive into the anime (2011 or CG). Puchim@s is good too since it can stand alone on its own.
For a /m/echa fan, definitely Xenoglossia. Also, iM@S has quite a number of covers of /m/ songs.
They also have songs that could easily be mistaken for an OP to an actual /m/ show.
Heck, Trancing Pulse sounds similar to Ace Attacker.
>tfw didn't know what to think of IM@S when I downloaded it first
>find myself utterly engrossed
>Chihaya's arc in particular really touched me
>her song when she starts to sing again was super powerful, I'm lucky I have a strong heart, I might not have been able to handle it otherwise.
Good effort on the artist's part, though the opposing unit looks nothing like the mechs in Xenoglossia.
TEMPESTAS WILL NEVER BE REBUILT FUCK IT ALL
I know, and I want to believe, but I really can't muster up much optimism after all the times I've been let down.
>more Accel World never
>new Mai series never
>more Horizon never
>proper s2 for Buddy Complex never
>CG anime didn't even have a single fake movie trailer like Mujin Gattai Kisaragi or Nemurihime
Make it a Brave/Eldoran series instead.
The action's not great, and the stories a little silly but it is in fact Greatest Love Story Ever Told, I liked it.
BD fucking when?
I want to rewatch the greatest love story ever told in good quality.
It was terrible every time Ami was onscreen. Haruka is olev.
Batshit insane Chihaya was by far one of the highlights of the show though.
It certainly has a more feminine silhouette than the others. Even has a reasonably recognizable facsimile of Godannar-style boobplate, if you can spot it.
Also the only one that comes packed with a spike launcher... which actually makes acute sense as both an asteroid-busting machine and a unit built specifically to take down the other Prometheus units, come to think of it.
Have you watched any recent Sunrise Wild Rides like Valvrave or Cross Ange (even KitaEri's character are the same)?
Xenoglossia songs are nice. Character designs are more of meme-tastic overhaul (Chihaya and Yukiho who are supposedly most conscious about their not-so-nice figures suddenly gets cow-tits) than anything. Different VA helps to keep your mind that this is actually a different thing than a direct incarnation like L4U OVA.
>I can't really bring myself to watch it because I know I won't enjoy it.
Just think of Xenoglossia as a one-time small gig by 765 Pro (which they didn't do again until Theatre is established) and Kuroi screwed them from the shadows like dubbing over their voices by other idols (one of the girls in the sports episode is voiced by a Xeno Futami) so as hinder their growth/popularity.
It's not that I forgot, I just chose Minami's rendition of Mitsuboshi with a great Walking Macross MAD (That New Gen joke!) to go with it.
I do agree that Minami's songs seems to be suited to /m/ shows.
>Mujin Gattai Kisaragi OVA when
Didn't they release like a novel or something about this?
The Xenoglossia cast covered a bunch of sunrise songs
As for stuff that isn't sunrise, Chihaya has shangri-la, Rin has Soukyuu, IIRC Haruka, Hibiki and Miki covered Tip Taps Tips
There may be more without the idolm@ster label and in the radio shows
The first link in >>13457855 has Arashi no Naka de Kagayaite, Believe, DREAMS and a couple of image songs from SEED.
Still waiting for Hikaru to get voiced and have a cover of a toku song preferably a duet like Ohayou!! Asagohan REM@STER-A.
A trio with Ranko and Fumika would be fine too.
Masaki Endo covering Binetsu SOS feels the same too. I guess it's because a male doing a cover of a song originally done by a female (or vice-versa) makes it sound weird.
I think it's just aesthetics.
IIRc, as asteroid breakers all the Modenkind models have are the punch guards/crush claws attached to their arms. I forgot what Nubilum has to fit its stock-standard hand manipulators, Epimethus just has really sharp claws and Hiems is the only one with ranged weaponry in the form of a KP launcher.
>Chihaya did Shangri-La while Rin did Soukyuu
>Both Miki and Tsubasa did Believe
>Haruka did Sore ga, Ai Deshou
Any other Red idol did a cover of an /m/ song? No cheating with Ai doing Good Luck for You since that's not even a cover.
Would you fall in love with Hiems and claim her as your mechfu?
