***READ THE GUIDE***
For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're expereinced, don't make the new people worry!
>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post pictures whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting pictures.

So why haven't you built a Legend BB Nidaime Daishogun yet
Look how much chrome it has lads
The moonlight butterfly effect part I used was a knock-off but looked close enough to the P-Bandai version to be passable. That action base is that photo was also a knock-off called an action 'bise.' I don't know why someone would use that lame duck photo when I took better ones like this.
However I told mr Anaheim that I thought mine look better and I got a swift and colorful reaction. That Mk-II in OP is his and I find it ironic, but cute. I know I came off rude but this is 4chan. Nobody should care.
Mandarake haul came in. The box art is worth the price of admission on that old GM kit, I'd say.
Also the 1/100 Torunfam was actually cheaper than the 1/144, funnily enough.
And I finally managed to find a Javelin, because the Late UC is the best UC.
I don't own the real one, but Schizophonic does.
It has the added effects you see here under light.
Decided to scan the parts of the instructions that were in colour.
Now, this part is pretty easy to find...
...but I'm pretty sure this isn't available in a high resolution that I can find.
All of the original 0080 kits have these little drawings of the suits offering some sort of mail order service, it's great.
You are correct. I might get the real one eventually. I was just trying it out because of how cheap it was. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. First Gundam knock-off ever for me.
Wish someone had posted in snapshit's thread that the thread changed.
didn't realize the thrusters could be attached to the upper back like that.
time to pick up two option sets. :^)
though I really liked the graze with its regular gun.
might need to pick up a graze kai as well.
Reviews of the Glazed Kai are up now too.
You get a pretty good bang for your buck with these IBO kits.
Why do you keep calling it "Glaze"?
It's "Graze". It's even written right on the box and in the reviews you're linking.
ive actually never made a new GPG thread, and if i did id use a proper label like this instead of throwing text on a badly saved image of a kit i dont even have anymore.
Are you ready for the single most important release of the decade?
>FAGs are dead
Price: Fumina wins by a long shot but the FAG has more weapons, better printed face and water decal.
Articulation: probably Bandai, but you can't possibly be buying them for that alone (unless it's for lewd poses)
Add more if you wish axons.
Can't believe they actually made it.
10/10 FAGs BTFO
>Buying for lewds
How can you do such a despicable thing to Gourai-san
>Fag has more weapons
Only if you buy the limited weapon set. Oob the fag comes with a couple weapons (Gourai has 3).
Super fumina comes with the the beam rifle, beam cannons, the shields, beam sabers, and gatlings.
>People honestly surprised that the $40 kit made by a company with decent experience making girl models looks better than the kit that's 1/3 its price from a company with basically no experiance with kits like this.
You mean the Armored girls project and not the all gundam project when you say AGP, right?
Well they can't, those molds aren't owned by bandai hobby, they're owned by another bandai division so they don't have acess to them (bandai's different divisions work independently of each other to the point where they are almost separate companies). Plus those molds aren't designed to be model kits ( excuse me if you meant the 3d computer models and not the molds) and most have derp faces as well anyways.
Bandai really does not do female faces well in any of their divisions.
Futaba Super Blunder thread.
People saying the face is like 90s anime/Kid from Chrono Cross. Otherwise they're asking questions on how the engineering is compared to FAGs. Sasuga Japs. Restrained and polite as always.
But still shitting on it.
You're confusing bandai hobby division with all of bandai. Bandai is broken into different divisions that act largely independantly of each other and are basically just different companies sharing a name.
Still kind of looks like ass. I think this is a bad kit no matter how you slice it.
This is sad because I really like Mecha Musume designs. But, yeah, even the reveal of the completed kit looked terrible. I hope she gets a nice figure at some point.
HGs are made so they look "good" when put together by 11 year old kids. They should look good out of box with nothing but panel lining, a topcoat, and maybe some detail paint.
This >>13464467 is just shit.
>it's up to you to make it good
>make it good
we're talking face resculpt here kid
that's way beyond HG vs MG
>HGs are made so they look "good" when put together by 11 year old kids
Gunpla is made with kids in mind in general so that's probably why they couldn't make it too lewd (it's also why the antennae on Gundams are always blunt while Koto stuff, even the innocent-looking ones like the FAG hair, will stab you to death if you're not careful).
Not an excuse for the derpface though.
>implying there is an improvement
face resculpt or bust
speaking of face: does anon own any bitch queens?
Eh, at worst it's going to be a pretty decent maid uniform for other kits with s simple headswap.
Still, the kit is damn huge compared to the other lines.
Looks like either gundam paint or gundam real touch markers. They marker it on and then wipe it off with a cotton swab, leaving a sort of stain befind to lightly color the area.
I was mistaken, it's the Jinrai, not the Architect.
Pic is art but they already had kit sample photos in Hobby Japan Extra.
Either preorder the upcoming ones or pay double to triple the msrp on the after market for released ones.
>Heaight: 24.5 m
Oh bandai, you're so silly.
Minato obviously dreams of a giantess Fumina.
I like how the fan-made one looks better.
You can still get Stylets on amiami for 5k yen. Which is not bad. Preorder price was 3500. Good luck getting the Gourai anywhere for non-rape prices though.
In the future FAGs will probably be around 5k yen because Koto realized how insanely popular they are and will print more. If you're interested you might as well get a Stylet now to see what it's like. They will all use similar engineering.
You could also preorder these. Cheap but come with nothing but the body, some faces, and hands.
Gourai is not in peoduction and sold out everywhere. Stylet is quickly heading in the same direction. At release they were around $40 but due to limited supply and huge demand the prices have skyrocketed until koto does second runs.
>Cheap but come with nothing but the body, some faces, and hands.
We have all tried to get him to improve the look of his kits but at this point he just does it because it gets his micropenis harder than his big nipples.
He will never listen to us to panel line or detail his kits so never tell him.
I just made a post saying that it is
I will save this. The sad thing is that it is shitposters who have the time now to make threads since they lurk here more than actually build so I think this banner will never be used maybe once to annoy us and it will be used in some shit way.
This is a kit comparison i wanted to see. People keep saying that OOB it looks bad is one thing but after putting touches is what I wanted to see
This is probably gonna be the #1 reason people buy this kit. The Custom potential
Gonna post my gripe about the MG MK II 2.0 next. Fuck OP for not posting a new thread update on the old one
>This is probably gonna be the #1 reason people buy this kit. The Custom potential
Yes because shittily putting a shitty animu figure head on your gunpla is the same a The Custom(c)!
Fuck off and die shitposter
I don't know why people try defending the Super Fumina by saying "it just looks bad OOB" "you gotta put work into it." Pretty much anything will look good if you put work into it. You can put work into total dogshit 80s NGs and make them look good.
This isn't army plamo where it all looks like blank shit. This is gunpla, it's supposed to at least look passable OOB and the Super Fumina doesn't. It's a total failure.
They gave Super Blunder a midriff specifically for custom fags, which is also why she has molded paintable eyes. Unfortunately her midriff is so awful you'd have to scratchbuild a new one anyway and the paintable eyes just look uncanny.
So i have an idea
Our next group build should be "Lets try to fix super blunder" you can either buy it and try to fix it up or make a super maid thingy outta any hg/mg so say nu maid or g-mai
sorry if this sounds like shitposting im still waking up
>putting a shitty animu figure head on your gunpla is the same a The Custom(c)
Did I say putting shitty head is considered a custom? I said custom potential
Why am I replying to you when you clearly do not read at the 4th grade level?
I dont see how im shilling it if i said you can use something else.
i just wanna get one so i can record it getting set on firei myself think its fucking scary looking
You do know how shilling works right?
A shill would defend the shit outta it while spamming pics like the gogo kampfer shill we had last year that tried so hard to say that shitty kit is better than the mg
heres another (You) fagget
At WonderFes 2015 there was promo art of a FAG Hraesvelgr and in the new HobbyJapan there's the same pic of it and of that Baselard. So there's a good chance those will be two of the next FAGs.
Make me, faggot.
You couldn't even get rid of snapfag-kun.
>hurrrr FAG vs Super Blunder war
>hurrrr Revive Thing That's Already Out is coming durrrr
This is next level shitposting. From now on, if you see some retarded shit, ignore it. Because it's just snapshit being desperate.
FAG vs Super Fumina was expected, especially considering FAG is a new line and Fumina came out a day ago. The Guncannon guy is just a retard.
Not everything in these threads has to be shitposting. That guy posting and deleting Unicorns is though.
>read thunderbolt last night
>those gm cannons, guncannons and gelgoogs
hopefully with the anime we'll get kits
the guncannon will probably be based off the revive mold
one for each month of the year
I think Bandai is only making revivals for a specific lot of old HGUC's. I don't think they're going to waste production lines on another guntank when the old one was fine. They will do the Hyaku Shiki soon.
>they will do the Hyaku Shiki soon
i hope you're right, because i have the mega launcher version, and its uh
ok? the issue is alot of things are on pegs instead of ball joint. not too bad though.
What's the difference between daban and dragon momoko's MG tallgeese ii?
I just need the shield, lance, halberd, and the head crest for a custom I'm planning.
yeah with all the hype that lead up to what has already come out in the IBO line, all the positive feedback about everything that's come out so far it suuuuuuuuuuure isn't working out at all, totally nailed it bro.
Stay assblasted that all your kits are garbage and your moms mad at you for using her credit card.
and one more for ya
>but it's okay it has RX78 in the name so it's a prototype!
They sell doll glasses in various sizes. I'm sure you could stick one of them on a FAG.
those are shit tho
look for photo-ecchi ones
>real touch markers
>high light areas you want to define
>wipe off with a sponge/tissue/cotton buds
>get non-shitty looking fumina
Honestly, its pretty simple as long as you read the guide.
When the world is ready.
Bandai, make a damn standardised Revive GM frame and milk the MSVs for all they're worth. I don't care how much P-Bandai I have to wade through to get there.
>had a dream a few days ago that bandai released a revive GM and I bought a fuckload
>put them in my closet
>wake up, deny it was just a dream
>it has to be true... It just has to be
>open closet, see no GMs
>cry a little
>cry a lot
It hurts more knowing that it'll probably be a long while before we get any new GMs, if we get them at all. Bandai will probably just shove more Zaku variants up our asses.
We'll get there eventually. After the Revive Dom. And Revive Gyan. And Revive Zaku 1. And Revive Gelgoog. And Revive Z'Gok. And Revive Gogg. And Revive Zock. And Revive MSV Zakus.
Have you ever laughed so hard you feel like you sprained something?
Tomorrow I'll be spray painting (or attempting to) an old HG Hi nu kit I built around 5 years ago. What's the best setup to paint in? Should I do it in the open like in here? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQTZKBm6aOc
Gyan we're getting.
Dom would be nice just to upgrade to double jointed arms.
Zaku I is currently okay.
Origin line is pretty much an a revive line up for the MSV Zakus, only a matter of time for a Shin and Johnny customs
If you wanted to improved articulation on the Mass Produced Gelgoog kit then Bandai Hobby would have to slim down the Gelgoog's proportions like they did with the Revive RX-78. I like the proportions as they are now, but if they release a revive then that's fine
They could just change the engineering. Change the skirt so it's separated like on the MG2.0. Modernize the shoulders. Yeah, the Gelgoog is limited by design, but not THAT much. The proportions could stay the same.
>slim down the Gelgoog's proportions like they did with the Revive RX-78
I really don't get this. Revive Guncannon's got traditional Gundam proportions and its articulation is fine, and the Mk-II and Qubeley both look delightfully fat/SWOLE. I guess I'm still a bit peeved at the anorexic Revive RX-78-2.
and it's finally complete
honestly I think vanilla X looks better than Double X
I hope tomorrow is sunny enough to take some more pics
>Revive Guncannon's got traditional Gundam proportions
Hopefully you mean that it has the proportions of a Gundam and not that it has its traditional proportions, because it certainly does not.
Finished snapping together the lightning z. Imo its alright
kinda like the original morebuildwose was meh, nothing really fun or anything
So has anyone ever just lose several hours when building kits? Not losing track of time but legitimately having some bullshit time skip where you're like sanding a joint or something in the middle of the day and then all of a sudden it's pitch black outside and you're still holding the same piece.
I fucking lost a whole day just snapping this Jesta together and I won't be able to finish it now
Yeah, I should have typed "a typical Gundam's proportions" to clarify. Also wondering if Bandai'll do another "Operation V" Gunpla pack with the Revives, but I doubt we'll get a Revive Guntank for a while considering that the Origin one is pretty recent.
A Revive Dom/Rick Dom and a Revive Triple Dom pack'll likely come before a Revive Operation V pack, now that I think about it.
I'll soon be hand painting my first kit an HG Barbatos, I have built a few other kits with some sanding and panel lining but this will be my first painting experience.
Thinking of going with Vallejo paints. Should I bother mixing up the colours in proportions that the colour guide recommends? Or should I not bother with colour mixing and just use the single colour which is the closest approximation? I'm foreseeing that it would be quite difficult and a pain in the ass to get the paints in the proportions recommended by the guide.
Has any one here painted a Barbatos with Vallejo's? If you could, would you please share what exact colours you went with?
Also this is my first kit with an inner frame of any sort, I noticed some of the white pieces are really small and don't really have an inner face where I can clamp crocodile clips. For these small pieces is it okay to prime and paint each side with alternating coats after flipping it over b/w coats? I can't see any other way to do these pieces.
>tfw you order new kits from HLJ and feel no shame when you know you have a kit to finish besides
My wallet may be screaming like a beaten redheaded stepchild and I feel nothing at all. Is there something wrong with me?
Also, looking to invest in a cabinet that'll fit in my closet but still be big enough to turn into a makeshift display if desired. Figured I would measure first beforehand to save myself some heartache.
If you use a toothpick or a palette knife, you can get the proportions more exact. Don't Vallejo paints also come in a bottle with a built-in dropper?
As far as priming in sections, I don't see a problem with that. You might want to overlap your layers of primer and sand the overlapped area down to get an even texture all around.
Of course, I'm totally inexperienced too, so I hope I'll be corrected if I'm giving bad advice.
did you use the holographic things on this one? if so I was wondering how you cut the holo sheet? scissors or a hobby knife?
I also handpaint with vallejos. I don't bother mixing colors because you pretty much will never get the same ratio on the second 'glop' of paint you mix. I either go for the closest color, or a slight recolor. I haven't painted my barby yet but I will probably go with a neutral grey instead of white, and gold instead of yellow. As for crocodile clips, I was lucky enough to get some with slits in their sides where I can often slot in pieces that the clips wouldnt normally clamp onto. I've only had a handful of parts that couldn't fit on the clips. As long as you are not painting/priming the same face twice I don't forsee any problems.
>you get a holographic sheet of paper, which already has the shapes precut for the 4 panels
Sorry if i'm being dense here, but I thought the holo paper came in a rectangular sheet and needs to be cut?
no, as I said, the shapes come already precut, you only need to pull gently to separate them
I did bought a sheet of holographic sticker I had to cut myself for the reflectors of the HG Double X, and that was a real bitch
I did thought about using those, but decided against it in the end, given that the holographic sheet you get is pretty nice and besides, most of the multicolor effect gets lsot by the clear pieces of the reflectors that go above
I hate this phones camera
Hopefully this is better
I think I've come across a first world problem, guys. I just finished building the Star Winning and now I'm not sure what to build next.
A word to the wise: Don't end up like me. Control your backlogs.
Nigga that's blurry as fuck but you should just use rockets for the legs instead of thruster+rocket combo. I can't iTmagine why something on the ground would need boosters there. I'd also give it a Zaku shoulder shield to protect it from all the small arms/tank fire.
So, I recently got interested in Gunpla, and MK II being my favorite MS, this http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10345143 looks pretty tempting.
Should I? I've never built anything ever, and while I know it's not released yet, how beginner friendly do you think it will be?
And yes, I've read the guide.
Did you just take a heat-axe and stick it on the forearm? It's a bit odd since it'd be utterly useless except for maybe blocking melee weapons.
Also those thrusters from suits like the Dom/DomTropen/DesertZaku are for vertical lift to hover over sand rather than lateral movement boosts (they're more like giant turbines, the calves are basically the intakes). If you wanted higher mobility for a ground type mobile suit, then maybe you should got for a backpack instead.
Behold, anon, my Mercurius. Let me show you it. These kits are hard to fuck up so bad they can't be fixed later. Spend the 1200 yen, worst case scenario, you tried something new.
>how beginner friendly do you think it will be?
It's a Revive HG, it'll be piss easy and look good out of the box.
Try one and you'll know whether or not if this hobby is for you.
>And yes, I've read the guide
Did you read all of it
No fuck you, there's no reason you shouldn't always check before posting massive pictures of nubby/oob kits (read shit) unironically.
I'm sure people wouldn't care as much if these huge photos were of half decent models but they're always snapped together or somehow in some sort of disrepair.
It'll probably be similar to the Revive RX-78 in terms of assembly so you could pick up one of those to play around with since they're so cheap
Yea i should do that instead amd probably switch it to leg launchers instead.
I know its a lil weird for the arm heathawk, i have it mind that the pilot of the zaku likes to engage in alot of close-quarter combat. So after ramming with the spikes, slice the opposing suit near the cockpit to make sure that they're completely dead.
>It's a Revive HG, it'll be piss easy and look good out of the box.
A what? There was nothing about that in the guide.
Also, does "look good out of the box" imply no painting is required? Because that'd be a huge plus.
>Try one and you'll know whether or not if this hobby is for you.
I have experience working with small stuff (circuits, in my case) and it's both incredibly stressing and gratifying at the same time. That said, I'm kind of nervous, as this seems significantly more difficult than soldering shit.
>Did you read all of it
I did skip the "how to build" parts, given that it's kinda pointless to read them when I don't even have a model yet, but I have a rough idea of how it goes anyways, after having watched several tutorials on youtube.
>It'll probably be similar to the Revive RX-78 in terms of assembly so you could pick up one of those to play around with since they're so cheap
Yeah, it's pretty tempting to even grab multiple in case I mess up.
The Revive line are basically re-engineered kits of older, outdated HGUC models that suffered from either poor articulation, color separation, seams or a combination of all of the above. Also you can literally just google search pictures of oob kits to get a good idea of what they would look like.
I guess that would make some sense but having such an obtrusive weapon for only that specific use is a bit odd for the whole real-robot thing UC tries to enforce. But it's your kit and you do what you want with it.
There's this: http://www.kotobukiya.co.jp/schedule/
It's more accessible than Bandai's list because they put images next to the names and you can immediately just throw the page into Google translate.
So what exactly is the purpose of this thing? You wanted it to have decent CQC potential so you gave it the shoulder spikes, the arm blade and the flashbang chest cannon but at the same time it's equipped with missile launchers and an AA vulcan? I think you should probably just stick with a more melee oriented theme
and maybe learn to focus your camera.
My camera cant for some reason
lg leon is kinda shit but i was on a tight budget for a replacement phoneAnd its not an aa gun its similar to the ground-type gundams chest gun. The purpose is for a squad based around land combat. I gonna do what the anon suggested and remove the leg stuff for a backback. The other 2 units im planning on working on is a gouf custom and zaku sniper.
Alright /m/, should I finish working on this Zabanya I've been sitting on for the last two months or go and paint my Barbados in Nu Gundam colors?
Fuck I need to get one
Download an app, hopefully itll turn out better but do these launchers work?
desperate for a barbatos i ordered from "philips hobby shop" on amazon selling it for 10 with free shipping. checked their page and that was the only gunpla they sell. odds of me getting an empty box?
also been away for a while is zaku1-chan still working on his custom?
Yknow i was wondering if he did finish it or not. But id wouldnt really be worried. It could be a new seller or worse case itd be beat up.
Anyways i made a backpack. Thoughts?
>everywhere else is sold out
you're new aren't you
literally the first place I looked I found it cheaper, mind you the shipping will probably take it a bit higher
Goddamn that rifle
Glad to finally have some IGLOO representation
retake the picture and resize it.
Not enough lighting and the picture is too noisy
I just want this kit just for the rifle or I should just get the Barbatos acc kit that comes with the rifle
let's say it can also fire thanks to charging solar rays
natural sunlight makes anything look good
a camera really does not do any justice to how the reflectors really look, like, they are super shiny
I went last year, not sure if I will this year.
I didn't enter anything, but I did notice during the judging/winning announcements that like half the people who won were judges, which feels like bullshit.
Nobody in the judging or managing group for an event should be eligible to enter the event.
the vulcan thing over the shoulder has a sensor, but you don't a sticker or marking for it, cutting some leftovers can help for that detail
anyways, this one is a great MG, only be careful with the cannon connector, it is no that it is weak, but if you mess too much trying to pose it, you may exercise too much force and break something
Does anyone here have the RG Zeta?
If so, could you let me know if its possible to do this with the wings without modification?
yes I'm /m/exican, the sky is always fucking polluted here
you call that pollution, go to Beijing some time to experience the real shit.
pollution masks and staying indoors during the bad days. Chinese cell phones have pollution gauges and dangerous air warnings built directly into their weather apps by default.
though it did look like this two days later, Beijing is in kind of weird area and a bit of wind actually clears it out quite nicely.
