Well, these models are made with Blender. (Blender.org) SFM ports are on the to-do list. Be patient.

Might be the case. I'm going to be busy over the next week and a bit because of midterms, and I'm busy doing a bit of work for the 4cc winter videos. Don't worry though, I am going to finish the animation.
It's a recreation of pic related with the mane six.
It's 43 megs and has 7 layers.
All layers need to be rendered and then returned to me so I can finalize it in post production.
Sure, I'll give it a try, but my computer isn't SUPER or anything. It's a macbook pro - not too shabby.
I don't think gmail can support such a large file, so upload it to a google drive, and then email me the link so I can download and render.
Kek, don't judge the gmail, I made it when I was 12.
Holy shit, I was joking. The best kind of troll is the unintentional one.
I really would love to see some more animation with these guys, though.
I didn't think you were trolling, but there are some serious implications of them using the models.
Also, If I were "Hasbro" I would hire digital domain, weta digital, industrail magic and light, or 180 amsterdam to do everything. They're the best.
...although using fan created content would save money, get tons of respect from us, and be written in digital history.
I hear that baking animations and tweaking a few setting could save a shit load of time.
And, just for the hell of it:
Ok, I was just making sure. I thought I may have fucked something up by accident. It about 25 percent done. I don't know why it's taking so long if it has an alpha channel.
lower right hand corner it lists how many replies, images replies, how many different IPs have posted and what page the thread is on.
If you cant see it, enable it in your settings.
All I really need is the character and their shadow so once that has been rendered, you can stop the render.
It's only going to take longer with the characters furthest from the center.
Ok, I'm about to start rendering Rarity, but something is pissing me off. I want to only render her and the shadow, but the resoultion settings won't allow it. She's off tot he side too.
Fine. I'll only show one pic - I don't want to spoil the guys whole project.
Plus it's great content for the thread.
Hey 3d anon? I'm having a little trouble with the Rarity model. Whenever I load up the model and lock the camera to the "Camera" view, the little red box that lets me control the position of the render doesn't appear. It also won't show even if I create a new camera and set it as the active camera. Do you have any advice?
See all of this? This is what I call collaboration. We need more of this - even if it's just a renderjob, or material test, or animation tweaking - we need a ton more of this.
I'm glad to have helped you out on the rendering. I guess I'll just be the "go-to" guy for rendering. I don't use my CPU that much anyway.
Fluttershy is 25% complete.
I mean the little dashed line box that appears when you lock the camera to the Camera view and then press 0 on the numpad. It pops up and gives me more control of where to place the camera for rendering.
This helpful thing.

Rerequesting some good soul to, not work on them right now, but at least consider making boots that fit better with the proportions of the girls just like the boots that appeared in Rainbow Rocks, instead of the clunky and massive boots from the first movie.
Here is the final result.
Special thanks to ShipisLove for helping with the render.
God, it's like a game from the 2000s; too much fucking bloom. The poses are really good though, you did an excellent job there. I just wish there was a Spike model to put at Raryoin's feet to complete the picture.
That looks wonderful.
People say there's too much contrast, but I can honestly only say that it's a problem with fluttershy, though is isn't that big of a deal. Maybe because she's yellow on a white BG.
bump for this
oh shit, we're in a new thread aren't we? whoops
We have this plus >>21740012 and Twishy from the last thread.
I was going to wait for one more before I update it
Generic 3D question. How do I into topology? Boxy things like G1 transformers are easy enough but anything else is too damn hard for me to figure out. Anything curvy such as an insect is hard and things like a human torso are impossible.
Topology is best learned by watching a whole bunch of tutorials on the theory or examples. Blender Cookie has a bunch I know. Also, try following their series on modelling a human female. It really helped me I know.
I'm trying to give her a shy expression but I can't into expressions. This looks quite uncanny and I don't know how to fix it.
Can someone help me?
Yes, I'm changing the pose because there's a similar one
Instead of replacing the clothes + arms + shoes (which gave me some weird deformations on the shoulders after parenting them with the bones) I opted to just replace the head. I've parented the head with the neck bone and everything looked fine in >>21743078, but when I rotated the body as you suggested I've got >pic.
I thought everything was already parented to the head bones but apparently when I parented the head with the neck the eyes and everything else de-parented.
I've tried every parenting option to fix the eyes to the face, but nothing worked. How do I fix this?
I'm sorry I'm asking you dumb questions but I'm very new to 3D stuff
I found a head with no facial features so I did what anybody would do.
I suppose I could put my old ones up. Why, though?
Nevermind, I worked with both armatures together. Not the most elegant solution but it worked well enough to render a picture.
Total render time: 1:04:18
>not reading the pastebin
>even after the !READ THIS FIRST! and Other models (Including nude and Pony) are linked in the pastebin in the OP
Why do I continually get surprised at this?
>>not reading the pastebin
Oh, but I did.
1. a horse cock.
2. .DMX and .QC which when researched, cannot be imported into Blender. Unless I'm wrong.
That's why I said
>Where can I get a cock for Blender?
What's the job market looking like for us blender users? What are the odds of using blender and making a career out of it?
Wouldn't it make more sense to learn maya or something else?
If you want to work in most large game studio, max/maya are the way to go. Chances are you'll want zbrush under your belt if you are serious.
If you want to freelance, contract, or work in various smaller studios, Blender is a good option. Blender is also frequently used outside of animation, like many engineers I know have worked with Blender on occasion.
Obviously if you are self employed and making a game for example, use whatever floats your boat.
Blender wasn't taken very seriously even 5 years ago, but it is rapidly gaining popularity, especially in Europe and Asia. It is hard to say where things will be in a few years though, with software you never know.
Okay. It's just I remember seeing on the page that it was compatible with blender a while ago. And didn't think anyone would want a >human cock
There's no released models for the swapped clothes versions.
Now if someone would post instructions on how to do it step by step, I'll add that to the bin.
I haven't edited the OP only because there's a limited amount of space for it. I'll definitely add it in the pastebin though.
And in terms of the mediafire link, that's something either you or 3danon need to do. I don't have an account.
You autistic fucks should watch this.
Please kill yourselves niggerfaggotshills.
after class bump.
What are you niggerfaggots working on in Blender?
Just imported someone's sketch up model... Only the dead can know peace from this evil
Shit, 3DAnon said that you have to run something called "Rig.py", though, I'm not sure how to actually do that. Sorry :/
Still post your work! We won't judge if the fingers are a little off...
>inb4 fingerbang thread
I'm attempting a small animated short.
I'll try and recreate >pic related.
It's only 15 frames of animation so it'll be fairly easy and won't take so long to render.
The fact that that is so simple, yet so obscure makes me want to rage. Now I have to re-render it.
It's okay, shouldn't take too long. Also, I'm rendering it on a different computer, so I can forget about it for a while.
Trying to learn how to reposition each piece of these models. Working on hands at the moment
EqG version please!
I see a lot of EqG requests on drawthread too.
>drawing and 3D are two completely different things
They're quite similar, although the "drawing" method is different. Just saying this because I've seen a lot of bumps ITT since I joined here.
It's still pretty good. You should just change the angle a bit.
Like go a little up and look a little more down.
That should improve the chin shape hopefully.
And I get you want the left to smirk a bit more intensely, but you're not supposed to see the gums. Move the corner a bit lower and more to the side?
I'm the guy who was trying to pose Sunset. Put it off for a while until I came back and realized I could rotate her upper body around her waist. This hilarious monstrosity is the result.
Oh ship, what about Celestia and Luna?
My teacher asked me where I got them and instead of saying "the my little pony board on a porn site" I just said "My friend made them" that okay?
Kinda feel guilty not giving 3danon full credit.
alright, cool, thanks most based of the anons.
Not just for that though, for everything, these models got me interested in something I had looked over before, turns out it's pretty fun, and it's been a semi productive learning experience.
Resources for free 3D models (or paid):
http://tf3dm.com/ (my favorite)
cgtextures has a shitload, so this should be enough.
Shapeways is what I've used in the past
However, getting an object printable requires a good amount of technical knowledge. It took me a good while to figure out the colors and everything.
It's kind of hard to see what you're willing to do. Only poses? Short .gif animations? Modeling? Multi-object? Specify what you're willing to do so that we can gauge what makes sense to request of you.
/r/equesting Twilight pointing to the top right of the screen with caption "check'em" since you have doubles. Or, you can just make the image, render it, and I can add caption in Photoshop for you.
Sorry I should've specified earlier, only doing poses because I'm just starting out.
So like this but with Twilight?
Animated lewds? Explain.
Been here since 3DAnon posted the first model here but I've never seen animated lewds, only screen caps. I'm willing to bet those came from somewhere else though all the models used were originally posted here by 3DAnon. How did you get here may I ask?
we need to seriously update the booty on them.
isn't there a way to make a blank body (rigged and all) then just "plug-in" the proper skin & eye color, clothes and hair for each character?
seems it'd be easier than doing it seven different times.
she needs to be leaning back a tiny bit and look like she's just staring to lift her right leg.
otherwise hella cool.
whole movie when?!
Someone's working on better boobs, butts and figures in general so we're waiting on that and trying to help him out as best as we possibly can through advice.
3DAnon, who to my knowledge has the most experience in Blender and 3D editing in this general, has been breaking his ass animating Rainbow Dash's AAIWTB and that's taken quite a while up until now. I can estimate most of it is done though.
>>21790781 But to answer your question, I doubt Hasbro will let that happen on their watch. They'd probably C&D the guy/group trying to remake the whole movie in 3D. There's also the fact that it WILL take a long fucking time to do that, but it'd be worth it for me.
This idea has with humanized Equestria still blows my mind, and with these models it could be even better. I have no talent and no practice in any of this stuff however so I can't contribute.
considering that it was done a year before we had EqG, those models are really well done.the nightgown got darker when wet and the hand gestures are really good. it's as though Hasjew used that clip as a starting point.
To the faggot that recommended that Jojo pose school, thanks a bunch. Here is the pose I selected. If there's anything I need to change, tell me now and I'll render it all tomorrow evening.
Realized I needed to cock her hips more and realign her eyes. Looks much better this way. Criticism and suggestions are still welcome.
Damn you could be right. Imagine how easy it could be for them if they took ideas from fandom for their episodes' plots and focuses. I wouldn't care if they ripped them off of us as long as we have some sort of input into the show what with those guys in suits leading the company.

Or, you know, less than 5 minutes in the OP's pastebin
Wouldn't put it past 'em, but they still did it wrong in the end.
Very, very, wrong.
Hell, they could've used the same character designs if they wanted, but they should've done the 1st movie better overall. I have yet to see RR.
Lookin' gud mang
>reading science blog
>today's theme is the bigbang
>mfw this is the pic they used
I can't not see the dongs anymore.
I don't understand what're you saying. I watched this video http://www.blenderguru.com/tutorials/how-to-create-an-explosion/ and applied the stuff for a smaller explosion, using particles as smoke/fire generators.
Look the screenshot with a partially rendered picture and the domain properties.
You can always resort to 2D graphics editing programs like Photoshop, Corel or Fireworks to add in explosions or fire effects you can find on the internet. I could do it or you if the problem persists.
mfw they used that same picture in my textbook
This is gonna seem really stupid, but when appending the rig, these dotted lines appear. How do I get rid of those, they're really distracting.
It doesn't do anything; the dotted lines are still there.
Are you using 2.69 and/or Linux?
I had the same problem on my computer running Ubuntu with the 2.69 version. Once I used the 2.73 version, the problem went away.
I don't know if this will help but it did for me.
Ya' know, you truly never know just how amazing these models are until you start actually using them in pose mode.
I've gotta say, this may not be a Weta Digital style fully built muscle/skin rig, but it is intuitive, and get's the job done in short periods of time. Nice job 3D anon.
Also, lower hip/thigh controls when?
Thanks! Yeah, these rigs are not to technically featured, but things like muscles wouldn't fit the style of the animation well anyways. What would a thigh control be used for though? The FK leg should cover those needs anyways.
Which one is that? I went into the rig hierarchy, and I only see IK. There's FK there, but I can't activate it or single it out for some reason.
I'm too lazy to fix the rig.py issue right now, so have a lazy not-quite-finished scene.
I did not quite anticipate how both of their expressions wouldn't be caught by the camera. (Twilight has a curious/cautious expression)
dildo-generator.com is a thing?
The fingers won't bend if the .blend file was opened in 2.69 before.
Not sure why but when I tried to fix the fingers in 2.73 that were once in 2.69, the fingers still wouldn't bend.
There are T shaped "nodes" that you press "S" on . Scale them and they should bend.
I think I did it right. Exactly what do these sliders do, and how can I use them to my advantage in the future? Are they the slider controls I saw in the livestream yesterday?
Yes, these are an indirect way to access all of the sliders you saw. To figure out what they do, just toy around with them. The main ones are the IK_Arm/IK_Leg ones which switch the deformation bones from following the FK bones to the IK ones.
I'm thinking of doing some live-streaming, as I have a little time. Who would be interested.
Also, observe how lazy I am.
those fucking digits, man. Check'm8.
Redownload the files? Did you run the script?
kek, I would watch the whole thing. Watching people animate who actually know what they're doing is a great way to learn. Even better if you interact with your audience via the chatroom and talk.
I am officially fucking retarded. I duplicated the window with Sunset rendering and tried to open a separate file to work on. I hadn't saved since before I made those pictures earlier on in the thread. I'm going to go cry now, goodbye thread.
Oh shit nigger. Well, inconveniences like that happen sometimes. I feel like pic related whenever I realize I made a mistake editing a pic but didn't have enough undos to go back that far.
Later on I set the maximum undo steps to 80 or something so I could go back to fix my mistakes. You aren't retarded or stupid, you just need to 1. Save often and 2. Remind yourself to double check what you do and don't have open in programs.
Oh, I was just being a melodramatic pissbaby. I actually managed to make it back to where I was in like 3 minutes. Now I just need to make a few final tweaks and render that shit. Also holy fuck I had no idea I could increase the number of undos. Thanks for the advice, both direct and indirect.
Np and good to know. The default number of undos are set low since most people have those crappy start-up PCs. The better your set up, the more steps it can remember for whichever program you're using.
Here she is, gents. Jonathan Shimmer in all her HD glory.
More Equestrian Pac-men to come.
What the fuck do you want from me you faggot? I gave you the Jojo Shimmy WIP and asked if there was any criticisms people could give me. You could've spoken up about not having a decent background.
It's 12 fucking 30 in the morning where I am right now, and I am in no mood to go back and render a background just for you.
Sorry. Been irritable because I started playing Cookie Clicker again (thanks, /igg/.) Just realized that there is no real point to it, got pissed off that I wasted all that time playing it, took it out on you. I'll try to create luminous backdrops in my renders from now on, anon. Just
3DAnon, how do I save an individual layer as a seperate file? I changed plans on the pose I was working on, and I made some changes to a certain object I downloaded. I did something wrong and my RD model won't work properly (it probably has to due with something I changed with the rig by accident) and I want to take my other object out for a future project.
Looks nice, but maybe weaken the light a bit, add more samples, and move it away from fluttershy? It seems that a common occurrence is that she is "sensitive" to being blown out by light.
... and aj's face is eating the tasty bacon hair....
Thred is almost ded, but I finished rendering this thing, with a special colored background for that guy earlier on in the thread. Enjoy.
shits over m8 but I think it might show up on one of these links eventually
