xth for fluffy reindeer chests!
Faust said in the last TFH livestream that TFH will be a part-time job for her. If you are bored, you might go listen to the TFH livestreams and document the questions/answers (with timestamps) for us.
Isn't it preferable that Faust take her time writing new Lore?
I'm curious how many people in this general are from /mlp/.
Because most generals are started by Rhodes Scholars.
In that event I'd suggest the following:
If the owner of the Golden Super Toots account is inactive for 3 months and they've ignored at least 5 email reminders then a tournament is held to determine the new owner of the Toot. I'd call it The GST Tournament
Contenders would compete in a standard best of 3 match with winners moving onto the next round (as mant people live in different timezones this might be hard to co-ordinate). If a shittonne of people apply we could run several sub-tournaments with the finalists of each competing in a playoff culminating in the Championship Match (which would be best of 5). The winner is then awarded the Golden Super Toot at a ceremony by TFHdevs in game (should also stream this) and there is a Roman style 1 week long orgy/party held in the lobbly.
However regarding the original owner of the toot; since the guy raised like $8000 fucking dollars there should be a clause that allows him to reclaim at any time, then maybe TFHdevs could craft a Championship Belt for the current champion.
Hey I like the idea of having some sort of "ingame championship", where there's a belt going around, based on fixed tourney schedules. It sounds like a fun addition to normal leaderboard rankings. If they actually pulled through and managed to get dedicated servers running, and then you'd have servers where the "champions" hang around for people to challenge and fawn over... community fostering on a whole new level. Would probably be real hard to set up and maintain but it sounds like a fun little thing. On your profile it'd read that you're the current champion, maybe you can get an actual belt as a lobby accessory for the time to show off... if there's one thing I would add it's you definitely need one champion per continent though. EU people playing Americans is either uncomfortably laggy or does not work at all so having seperate EU and NA champions would make much more sense.
All that having been said - decouple it from those toots. They're a super special one time thing and should stay that way, and if someone feels like abandoning their grand price that's their choice I guess. I mean that's just how it is, if you make something special and bound to only one single account for eternity, it's gonna die out in due time. No matter what you do. Same holds true for all the "non-special" toots and party hats and OOAK accessories and stuff, all of that's gonna be less and less and less common overtime. And that's good and okay cause that's what makes them special, if these things were obligated to switch accounts overtime that would just make them lame.
And at the same time that's what would give a proposed "championship" like that all the more weight. Cause whoever is currently a champion, they are people who are actually active at the point in time, who actually defeated other active players, and they are not guaranteed their success for eternity but only for as long as they keep sticking to it and fighting for it. That's a whole new level of prestige.
I think you're a bit overenthusiastic.
Can you think of ANY game where a special item given to a player as a reward as an acknowledgment of a deed done outside the game, is taken away from the player for being inactive for 3 months and then given to a random winner of an in-game tournament match?
Anybody itt play any other fighters?
Before it gets mentioned, I mean platform fighters or otherwise
I would not at all be against that, that sounds like a great way to engage the community.
I am however heavily opposed to taking away earned items from players just because a lot of other players want it.
I tried to ask one of the devs about automated online tournaments a bunch of times, but I guess my question got lost.
Something like Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 2 do - have a weekly tournament at fixed times that people can sign up for in advance, and when it starts, they compete against a number of other players within their skillrange.
The tournament mode could change every week or depend on the amount of players that signed up, but Round Robin and Single/Double elimination (or both combined) would probably work best, seeing how you can do those with as few as 8 players, but also with 32 or more. Naturally, there could also be "global" tournaments that ignore the skill range and everyone can fight everyone, but I imagine it's more fun for average players to actually have a chance of winning.
As for the price - the normal tournaments could either grant the winner (and to a lesser extent people who make it far) things like a lot of additional rating points or little lobby accessories, while the global ones decide the new owner of the Super Toot, a champion bell
theb eltor something, but you can get crazy with ideas regarding the rewards.
In general I've always preferred the automated tournaments over the ones organized by other players because you have to wait for opponents way longer, have to contact admins, manage your account on their site, etc.
I don't know, a tournament once every 3 months that's not automated sounds more enticing to me than weekly automated ones. If there actually was a global champion title to be upheld, and if that champion was determined not by some bot but actually by a judge who can make sure the brackets are actually filled with real people, could rule out people with terrible connection / make people rematch if the connection just fluked or whatever, that makes the tournament way more meaningful. Winning it or even only doing okay in a tournament like that would mean that much more than if it was just an automated weekly thing.
Like you would also have way more people competing if it was a rare special occasion. You couldn't really do skill matching like that but I mean what worth is there in a tournament where just a couple of people compete who are just as good as you. What kind of "tournament" is that. Where capable people are kept away from you so you can pretend to do really good. But if there was one huge global tourney (or at least continentals) then even just doing okay would feel like a big achievement, like if you just won some rounds - and losing wouldn't feel terrible. Cause you know you're thrown in one pot with the big dogs either way. That's what a tournament is really, some people win and some people lose and the thing that makes either outcome meaningful is to look at how strong your competitiors are in comparison to you. If I'm matched with people on my skill level then winning doesn't mean shit and losing feels terrible... if there's one guy I don't want to play in a tournament it's the guy who's exactly as strong as I am. One of the players is gonna feel ass and the other player is gonna feel hardly accomplished.
Good points. The global one might as well be managed by people and only be held a few times year to make it more interesting.
However, I'd still keep the "small" tournaments with the skill range. If I know I'm going to play ranked matches for the next 1-2 hours, I might as well make it interesting with a tournament instead of just having all of them be single, unrelated matches with no special tension. Even with the skillrange in place, it's still a unique experience because it doesn't happen every day and you can actually win some cool stuff rather than just rating points. Besides, even with tournaments organized by sites, there are still occasional beginner or amateur tournaments. Also, if you play ranked matches, you'll be playing opponents of your skill level all the time and will be happy about winning while not feeling bad about losing.
I understand that there are people who would rather play in one bracket with the best players in the world, but honestly, I don't see the fun in just being dependant on luck. You either get a few rounds of beatable opponents and make it far, or have a strong player right of the bat and be eliminated in the very first round, so your tour is over after 3 minutes. Making it far still doesn't say anything about your skill - it only shows how much or little luck you had with your place in the bracket, and you'll always know there is no way in hell you'll ever get close to first place unless you belong to the best.
As for the connection problem - I think that's something both versions of tournaments will have a tough time dealing with, and it depends on your luck with the admin on whether he considers your opponent's connection to be sufficient or not, while you may think it's barely playable. If you know your internet just had a short derp and you'd like a rematch, you could always implement the option of replaying the match if your opponent agrees. (cont.)
(cont. here) If an opponent agrees to replaying the match in a non-automated tournament, he'll agree to it in an automated one as well. The only thing missing would be the admin, and again, summoning him usually takes a long time and holds up the whole tournament sooner or later.
Naturally, tastes differ and all. You're not forced to participate in the automated ones and can stick to the type you prefer. They won't affect each other, so I think it'd be nice to have both.
I play skullgirls. I can also kick my friends ass in Blazblue even though I never practice it and playing FGs with a controller gives my hand cramps. Keyboards being bad is a meme.
Velvet makes a surprise cameo.

You don't want to know what that horn has already been in.
Nice to see TFH finally getting some quality porn outside of Tiarawhy's flash
Yeah I was just throwing the idea out there. Atryl is a busy dude, his Patreon pays $2000+ a month. His comissions will lead him to other series' where he may get attached and spend more of his time meaning he may lose intrrest in TFH quickly. But the item belongs to him, if the toot is destined to stay on an inactive account thats its fate. Im sure the Devs will come up with new and fun items for us to
I really like how this tournament is evolving though, hope something comes of it.
>We should make more.
I wish I could draw and jerk it to my own art, some people are really lucky
why are you acting like a faggot?
>Unfortunately that is all I have
Derpibooru is the best place to find porn and avoid any austistic OC(derpibooru don't allows TFH OCs) and filter anthro of TFH
She's too busy gushing over her dragon horse.
Just watch, her extended bio will be an entire book about MAI HONORU and MAI DUTY
She need to work in other project like that medusa movie
>hurr I googled porn on the internet
>that means anyone can just walk up to an animal that instinctually fears humans and stick their dick in its mouth!
You're a special kind of retard. I'm not saying it's impossible to do, I'm saying he's a bullshit liar because he claimed he just walked out and did it.
I know the notion of being uncomfortably touched by having people plaster fetish porn into your face 24/7 is kind of uncool but that's how I roll. And I'm not even 80 years old, promise.
Since I've started hearing about this game again recently, is it close to release or something? Have any characters other than Literally Applejack and Literally Rarity been shown? Is it actually good?
I found Literally Fluttershy, Literally Pinkie Pie and Probably Twilight. Has Rainbow Dash's moveset been combined with someone else's and used for one of these characters?
Are you bamboozling me?
The crowdfund just finished a week ago or so. They're going to be on an 18 month dev cycle, so the game will probably be out in early/mid 2017 if everything goes well (lol). As far as characters, yes it's just been Arizona and Velvet that are the most finished so far but If you go look at the streams on their youtube page you can see some very early versions of Paprika (Pinkie) and Oleander (Twilight). As far as lore and designs we've also seen Pom (Fluttershy) and Tianhuo (RD), you can see those on the indiegogo page. There's also some lore on mane6's website.
Oleander = Twilight
Velvet = Rarity
Arizona = AJ
Paprika = Ponka
Tianhuo = RD
Pom = Fluttershy
Goat = Hadn't been decided when FiM got the C&D, but the moveset existed.
And yes, they are aiming for a 2017 release.
Thanks. Guess I'll see you guys in like two years from now.
Also, why is this on /mlp/? I've seen these threads on /v/, but I guess autists got rectally ravaged? It's funny how this board is supposed to be for literally everything as long as it has a pony in it, and yet this thread is not allowed outside of it.
Is this what you guys actually call the characters? I thought I was just beeing a cheeky cunt.
That's fucking retarded. Someone should ask a mentally sane moderator about it. Funny how they allow CYOAs there even though they should be on /tg/, but a non-pony video game has to have a general on /mlp/.
It's funny. I've been around since the start of FiM but somehow I never understood the obsession and hate it and the people that liked it got.
I never displayed my liking for it, but I visited forums, 4chan and my Steam friend list are by the hundreds, with Skype being the same.
And yet I never saw any widespread obnoxiousness that people like to claim existed. At most, I've had people suggesting I should watch it but never anything beyond that. In forums, MLP fags stayed in their own threads, same with here on 4chan from what I remember, though there was problems with multiple threads but that's hardly unusual when something is hyped up.
Most fans did however use pony avatars and the like though, and there was of course plenty of crossovers and this is what I assume people are thinking of when they say that the "Fanbase is so obnoxious". If that is the case, said people are the most butthurt, oversensitive faggots there is and should probably stick to goddamn tumblr. If you can't handle people having avatars of shit you don't like or doing the same thing every other fandoms does, you should probably just fuck off and stick to socializing on reddit or something.
Seriously, I've never seen any actual proof. Yes, there have and still exist retards that take it too far and try to push it onto everyone, but I feel that the hate MLP got was mainly due to being girly and colourful. Triggered by the technicolor horses I suppose.
wait... so if we ponify EVERYTHING does that mean GR15 is redundant?
>It's funny. I've been around since the start of FiM but somehow I never understood the obsession and hate it and the people that liked it got.
There were a few reasons:
>people really liked it and were VERY vocal about it
>people who didn't like it or didn't watch it hated it for being "shit for little girls"
Imagine /pol/ and /lgbt/ having to share a board (like /mlp/ and /co/ used to) and there you go. It's bad press and a vocal community, same reason GamerGate is so hated.
Everything has already been ponified, we just need to make all of it official.
But TFH never did.
Clearly, it only needs to be very slightly related via something like canceled plans.
If that Kirby crossover really was being planned at some point, Kirby should be banned from 4chan.
trying out a little, sorry about the shit quality of my mic.
it's only a little bit, not messing up lines while keeping a strange accent in a language that isn't your first was harder than I thought... did this take over 10 times
>Seriously, I've never seen any actual proof. Yes, there have and still exist retards that take it too far and try to push it onto everyone, but I feel that the hate MLP got was mainly due to being girly and colourful.
Which is ironic, since Nintendo fans haven't been banned from /v/ yet.
Yeah, people talked about it from what I remember it was still in threads designated for it so I never quite got the problem. Then again, I never had the mindset that some people here seem to have. If there are threads about shit I don't like or am not interested in, I just don't go to them and instead go to threads about shit I like.
This however seem to be a very rare skill for some reason.
I do imagine there was people that possibly brought MLP up in other threads as a related tangent or something like that.
Or they shitposted. Pony is the easiest way to shitpost due to how butthurt everyone gets at the sight of purple smart.
>Or they shitposted. Pony is the easiest way to shitpost due to how butthurt everyone gets at the sight of purple smart.
I have too many screenshots in my 4chan folder to find it, but some smart man once posted "Pony is the new gore".
Keep your Quests away from /tg/, all of them.
Hey, Notapaladin is genuinely funny. You should read Kingslayer.
>Mane6 is the company name.
And a phrase that has not been used anywhere in the show and is just a reference to something unrelated.
>the movesets of both FiM and TFH characters mirror each other
That is not a pony, and these movesets have not been used in the show.
It used to be an MLP game before they completely rebuilt it. It has no pony characters, no pony music, no pony sprites, no pony references, nothing related to ponies.
Meanwhile, game with unicorns are allowed on /v/, even though according to the retards who banned Filly Funtasia from /co/, they should only be talked about here.
The fact is, moderators are fucking retarded and should start having actual discussions before pulling unwritten rules out of their asses where the rest of their opinions are. You can quote me on that.
I posted to Feedback, but >implying they'll answer.
I hate how the mods are unreachable. Maybe if we made a few threads on /qa/, Hiro will notice. I'm not even much of a fan of TFH, but this is getting fucking ridiculous and I'm tired of it.
on the other hand there's not going to be a whole lot to talk about until at least the beta is out, might be better to wait until the game actually exists in some form to do that
It's not like we have much of a chance anyway. As far as people who don't watch the show are concerned, the game is ponyshit and should stay on /mlp/, no matter how little sense it makes.
We should just hope for another Hiro Q&A and get to ask him early enough. He seems to be trying to reply to almost everyone, unlike moot.
It's not pony related. It shouldn't be bumping an actual pony thread to page 10 on a fucking pony board.
Not only that, but it would receive much more publicity on /v/ and this general would fit better on /vg/.
Is /v/ really being baited by a fake screen from Season 1-2 era?
The mods also said CYOAs should stay on /tg/ and still allowed them on /v/ (even though some mods delete them and others protect them).
The mods also said Filly Funtasia is MLP.
The mods also made the global rule say that literally everything related to any kind of a pony should be posted to /mlp/, but still kept them on /an/.
The mods also barely communicate and some of them have personal grudges, like banning Sony discussion on /v/ at times, or banning TFH from video game boards.
Haven't been here in a while. Has there been a confirmation that there will only be 6 free characters and a 7th one that's free for backers, and all characters that might be created after that will be DLC?
There hasn't really been official word on how the DLC characters are gonna work yet. Chances are that's still far from figured out even for the devs. The only thing that's for certain is backers will not have to pay for the goat.
Not officially, but it seems obvious. We know that when the game's released, there will only be 6 characters and the goat will be DLC some time after the initial release (but like you said, it'll be free for backers since it was a stretch goal). So apparently any other character in the future will be DLC for everyone.
I was hoping for 8-9 myself, but what can you do. It's just a shame that we'll never see their full 17 characters (might be more, but I think they said 17 in their FAQ back when FiM was a thing) roster with all the ideas they had.
God, people are triggered by the term "DLC" nowadays.
6 characters was the initial plan, but the crowdfund had a stretch goal for a 7th one. In any case they will get the base game out before working on the 7th one though, and then release that one (which again, is already funded!) afterwards, and it's going to be free for all the people who backed the crowdfund.
Characters after that are not confirmed or even only hinted at. They said there's a possiblity they might make profits with the sales and reinvest that into creating additional content, or they might get a publisher to fund further development, but that's just pipedreams at the moment. It's just more characters would be really really really cool, and frankly, necessary if this game wants to be taken seriously, because a roster of 7 is damn slim. But they aren't being delusional about this.
I love SG to death, got more than 1000 hours of playtime, but fuck the characters are overpriced. I mean I got all of them when they were free and there's sales all the time where you can get them for a fraction of the price, but come the fuck on when the base game is 15 bucks you can't expect people to pay 5 for one additional character.
And you pay hundreds of dollars for electronic devices, why would you have issues with paying shitloads of money for additional characters for a game cheaper than all of its DLC, amirite guys?
>It's why they can't add accessories to the in match models.
The game engine must be really shit if it doesn't allow programmers to attach an object to a specific position on a 2D sprite.
I mean, that's some really basic shit.
no, they CAN attach objects... it's just then that object has to be added/adjusted to every single frame of every single animation where it would be visible
it winds up being a ton of work just for one thing, let alone multiple accessories for different characters
>>The mods also made the global rule say that literally everything related to any kind of a pony should be posted to /mlp/, but still kept them on /an/.
Anything that might make the special snowflakes even think of a pony and therefore trigger them so they develop PTSD.
Ask again in 1 year or so. Maybe they overestimated the time they require now that some of them are doing this full time and we'll end up getting one or two more characters at the release after all. Very unlikely, sure, but who knows.
Is the Anon who was part of Maneframe and Smash Ponies still around? I finally checked these projects out and wanted to know if the gameplay the show in videos like this one is actually how the game is going to look when it's out.
The movements just don't look fluent at all, and there's a lack of animations when you land a hit. But I guess the fact that they felt the need to put in wavedashing and all their beloved ATs already shows where their priorities are.
Velvet and Arizona are perfect, they need to properly decide on an official palette for Velvet though.
Paprika and Oleander's designs are great, but Paprika in particular could use a better official palette and I'm still on the fence regarding Oleander's palette.
Pom and especially Tiramisu could do with some design alterations. Them being the most unfinished characters also makes them most viable for design changes before they get to actual animating.
That's why they were rebuilding the game, but they were not drastically redoing the animations, which is what I had an issue with.
I could go on and on about what was wrong with that game if you really want to, but I think part of the reason that game is in development hell is because of completely backwards game design.
>but they were not drastically redoing the animations
Yeah, I've read that they switched to the Unreal engine, but I'm afraid they won't improve the game much if they're not gonna take another look at the animations.
>I could go on and on about what was wrong with that game if you really want to
I'd be very interested in it, but I assume people would complain that it's off-topic, so if you don't feel like writing it all down, I'd understand.
I was pretty much kicked off for complaining about the design changes, and complaining that not enough effort was put into making it like Smash.
At one point I was told by one of the programmers or artist (I am too lazy to dig through my Skype logs) that they weren't interested in the Smash hardcore crowd and stated they were outright not interested in the Smash competitive crowd at all (calling them whiny babies).
I was in charge of training and leading several animators to help get designs for RD's animations done that I had helped plan out. We got pretty far, but I began realizing at some point that I had no damn control over the moves I was not directing. This also meant that shit was repeated, like there were two different special fall animations.
I lost my patience because despite designing moves, I had no idea how they planned to make this game feel like, and stubbornly I began to demand that they give me a clear idea as to what I was making or I would quit.
I began to notice as well other issues, there was a demand to put in items rather than put in basic character animations, items that the team had no idea how the characters would hold as they never anticipated how that would work (they would just float on the character's back).
I also realized that animations I had planned and made (for some) such as TECHING and SIDESTEPPING were NOT overlooked, they were not designed to be in. I asked why they weren't in and I was told that's because the game isn't a Smash clone. I asked how the game was supposed to play like and I was pretty much told Smash, but not Smash.
I'm not even exaggerating, I don't know how this game played like aside from an early tech demo.
>they weren't interested in the Smash hardcore crowd and stated they were outright not interested in the Smash competitive crowd at all (calling them whiny babies).
That honestly surprises me, seeing how they felt the need to include things like wavedashing and other ATs.
>there was a demand to put in items rather than put in basic character animations
Damn, those really are shit priorities, and it perfectly explains why the game looks so unfinished even to this day.
Thanks for the inside look, Humanfag. With that lack of planning in the project it seems they didn't even realize themselves what kind of game they were going to make. They just... made... a game. I imagine it could play like a bizarre blend of ideas (if players can get past the choppy animations).
If I had had any hopes for this game, they'd have been shattered by now. Naturally I'll still give it a chance - it's free after all, so why not -, but by now it's more out of interest about what they'll end up delivering.
There's a whole story I need to tell you about how RD needed to have a projectile suddenly because her pulling a guitar out for her side smash was unrealistic as there was no place for her to put it away.
I'm not making that up, it gave a character that was designed to be up close and personal an anti-air move where she didn't need to leave the ground.
Whoever those people are... that video is fucking retarded
A 4 minute "dev log", do they even talk about the game? No. "We got a lot done, like the AI system! Btw we're awesome and you should come see us at Bronycon!"
And to top it off probably half of that time was spent on cringeworthy humor and jokes
Fuck them and their game that will probably never come out anyway
I main Guilty Gear, sometimes play Street Fighter, and do combo-stuff in SFxT, BB and Skullgirls not so often.
I have to retrain myself from keyboard to and arcade stick to be able to actually play Xrd on the arcades. Keyboard is a vastly superior input device tho.
FiM was the first one I played, and I was surprised by how simple and easy to pick up it was. After a few days of practicing combos and stuff I was able to stand up to the [dp] guys, snatching wins against all of them at some point (except one of them to whom I had a terrible connection).
>the game isn't a Smash clone
>isn't a Smash clone
>Calls the game Super Smash Ponies
>makes the game appear (visually) like it's a fanmade smash game with ponies inserted
>isn't a Smash clone
>focus on items more than character animations
fuck those assholes, that project will fail and rot because they are not even delivering what they promised
To live up to my namesake, I also wanted to add Normal Norman as a WTF character and the Equestria Girls rep.
I wanted to pad the stage roster by having stages from other Hasbro properties as stages (a Battleship Stage, Downtown City, Lite-Brite, Canterlot High, and Cybertron) were all stages I had suggested.
Crossovers were shot down because "crossovers are terrible" and "we don't want to make another Double Rainboom" to which I pointed out the hypocrisy when I stated that Smash Bros. was one big giant crossover.
Normal Norman was shot down because I was informed that a human attacking ponies was considered too violent to Hasbro and this is when I learned that things would need to be tweaked because certain things in Smash Bros. would be too violent and the project would get taken down, so I decided to make things super silly to get around having things be violent.
I kinda agree that having stuff out of the MLP IP would dilute the whole thing, though. I think there's enough scenarios to pick from in the show, so adding stuff from other shows would be unnecessary at best.
While I personally like the idea of having the human waifus fighting, I feel that ponies and human characters wouldn't really mix well in gameplay/aesthetically.
In any case, I wish them good luck with the game, even if I don't think it'll go anywhere.
Image from el-yeguero.tumblr.com
Right, but Smash *Ponies* would have two distinct character body types. While it works in Smash because it just looks like a random mess of shapes and colors, it'd be more of a Ponies vs Humans in a less diverse cast.
Before you mention the other species in Equestria, I'd like to mention how you'd probably have at the very least 10 different ponies, their human counterparts, and *one* catbird, *one* donkey (if Cranky even makes it to the game), *one* phoenix, etc. In Smash, I find that each body type looks pretty different, beyond colors and hairstyles, even while being the same species.
Why do Pom's dogs have a better design than her?
Fuck you. I love the lore.
That reminds me, does anyone still have that webm of the alpaca running through its fence that was posted when the Paprika lore dropped? It was adorable.
Whoever thought rope could be used to bar an alpacas way clearly hasn't had many years experience. Back when I was just starting out, we had regular sheep fencing around all the paddocks. The gates were wooden, and rather flimsy. That all changed once Sox, one of our males, ended up on the front lawn. Resources were immediately spent into upgrading to deer fencing, and 2 meter high steel gates. We only use temporary rope fencing to act as a 'hallway' when needing to guide the herd across a paddock during rotation. As for plastic fencing, well, it took our stud male Caspian all of 4 hours to break a hole through the temporary paddock subdivider, and get to the females on the other side. Luckily all the females in the other half were already 6 months pregnant.
I can barely stand having to come to this board to search for this thread.
Smash, Lethal League, and Nidhogg are pretty much the only fighting games I've reached substantial familiarity with. Granted, that is because they have very low barriers to comprehension.
so guys, since the pom lore is two days late, I was thinking about certain headcanons to pass the time.
We know that Pom is young, as Faust stated she was a lamb. Since she also stated that cattlekind most likely grows like real life cows, it's likely that other species (including sheep) do too. Lambs in real life are less than 1 year old.
My headcanon is that Woof, Ruff, Tuft and Puff are the same age as Pom, and it was designed that all newborn sheep are given a litter of puppies in order to prompt the protective nature of the dogs with the sheep they guard.
>I can barely stand having to come to this board to search for this thread.
use this filter and the thread will always be on top
Oh man...that little alpaca doing the limbo. Her little squeaks were so cute.
More adorable alpacas here.
Their squeaking! :3 THEN they emit this loud, screeching, squealing battle cry and you know you are about to die!

Is Paprika supposed to wear clothing in the final version for gameplay?
Well the idea was that one would be released during the crowdfund for every 15k that was pledged - when they were at 250k.
Then the pledges shot skywards in matter of days so they couldn't deliver in time, cause they didn't expect it to be this quick. Which is an okay excuse I guess but you'd think they would have them finished by the time the crowdfund is over at the very least...
DESU they should have had them ready to release before making such a promise in the first place.
Even if they didn't have all of them ready right off the bat they should have at least had 2 ready. But the whole crowdfund seemed disorganized in the first place imo so I can't really say this surprises me baka
I'd rather they do a good job on it AND deliver in time. They are always super cautious with making any promises, and I respect that but then they should at least be able to stick to the dates they name.
...Really? This is the worst chapter yet. The title was the only good part. Boring as fuck.
That being said, I can't wait to pound you all with her puppies. I have a feeling her gameplay will be the most entertaining.

New Zealanders. Fucking BASED Jay!
Can we please get Jermaine Clement as Prime Minister or Poms Bro.
>She is the youngest sheep in the room, tiny, with spindly legs and short, new baby fleece.
Now that we have some more people here due to the update - if you haven't voted yet:
Just trying to see how many Anons here are visitors and how many are from /mlp/.
Kek. Yep, that's definitely Fluttershy as a sheep. Looking forward to playing her.
Yes. Lauren really underestimated how quickly the funds would come in and how much work she'd put into doing the lore! She's liking doing it though if it's any consolation. If it's not any consolation, she still likes doing it.
Yes. That'd be amazing. I've seen Bret around town and in the supermarket a few times but I think Jemaine might be based overseas now since I haven't seen him on his bike at all lately.
Anon, The Earth King invites you to Lake Laogai
Holding up good! The crowdfund and the stress and keeping up the high energy took a lot out of the team. We're starting to settle back in now.
It's only been VERY recently that the money has even been any sort of accessible/locked in. We have all sorts of other businessy annoying boring stuff to set up now that has happened (like insurance for the company and our game budget for things like licenses/different platforms etc and actually getting how we're going to pay everyone sorted).
Man, WAY too early to lock in any sort of tournament gameplay rules.
And the toots were for referrals. That's just what they were for. If the person ends up never playing that game they still referred us a bunch of people and helped us make the game in the first place. The toot is earned that way!
We would love to do in-game tournaments for prizes if we can work out a good way to do it. Again, that's just so far off.
Goat is gonna be designed during the development process proper when we can get more of Lauren's time!
I can check about dates for a dev forum but I don't have a date for you yet. It's not extremely vital RIGHT THIS INSTANT but we'd rather have it up sooner than later.
Ok was just popping in. Back to jerb.
While I agree that Anon shouldn't have been a salty faggot, that's no excuse for you to be a salty faggot. If you had explained why you have your opinion, then no one would have to be a salty faggot.
because it pony related, that why derpibooru allow all the porn of TFH in they page
Sadly, they decided not to do that. Said so on stream and in a recent post on the website. Gotta keep the exclusive backer rewards exclusive and all.
I'm in the same boat, I already know the time between when the beta is out and official release is gonna be hell for me.
They answered that question in an older thread. The roster was fully thought out and consisted of early s1 characters who already had basic playing styles figured out. There is one guy on the mane6 team who knows all about the roster and stuff, but unless he comes out and tells it to us some day, we'll never know.
That's the trouble with stud males. All that testosterone going to their head, along with their territorial instincts. Put two studs in the same paddock, and they will fight for dominance. Hell, put a stud male in with some weathered males, and he will try to mount them. It's not as uncommon as you think.
Plus, that plastic fencing was shit anyway. It was pic related, so all he needed to do was throw his body weight, via his front feet, against enough of the plastic links to break a hole through.
>There is one guy on the mane6 team who knows all about the roster and stuff
It's Nappy. He said he will let us know who the MLP counterpart for Goat would have been after Goat comes out
Oooh sneaky you have to wait like forever. I waited for a bit but figured they aren't *that* tricky to make me wait even longer.
I still don't fully understand what's the deal with those sheepdogs to be honest. So they are still predators and still have predator instincts, they still want to eat meat - but those animals they hunt are considered "pest" and unworthy of life even by the ungulates. But the sheep still don't really "get it" and instead try to feed them grass and shit.
Doesn't really add up now does it. I mean if *every* sheep is given those, you'd think they would have figured that out by then, no matter how stupid they are. And be forced to decide what their ethics say about eating meat, killing creatures less strong than you for food, and in turn be forced to reflect upon whether or not what the ungulates do to the carnivores is just. I mean, if they can teach the little pups to live on alfafa, instead of locking them away, they ought to be trying their hardest to do that with wolfs and bears too. On the other hand if they knowingly let dogs eat mice and rats... that'd just be kind of fucked up so frankly I expect them not to do that.
Maybe it's just Pom's dogs, maybe they are special and have a bit more predator in them than anyone else. Cause otherwise this really doesn't make much sense to me.
Sheep are stupid and cowardly.
Any sheep who thinks sheepdogs would eat meat, would faint straight away, and could never look at those awful... carnivores... again.
This is why, despite Pom's innocence, and misunderstanding... She really is the smartest and bravest of the sheeple.
It's pretty heavily insinuated that this whole predator banishment thing was at the ungulates whims and only applied to things they personally felt threatened by. Lauren mentioned on a stream that there are plenty of smaller non-intelligent predators still around in Foenum, like snakes and birds that eat small rodents and such. As long as the animal isn't big enough to threaten the ungulates, they don't seem to care. That's why the sheepdogs get a pass since they've evolved to the point that they don't see the sheep as a meal, so everyone's cool with it.
then the sheep are fucked aren't they?
But isn't this exactly how humans are? We are okay with lions eating gazelle, but if one attacks humans it's shot.
We are cool with animals eating other animals but not with animals eating us. How is this different? Just curious.
Cause the predators are sentient beings. A more fitting analogy would be a whole nation of cannibals, looking to eat only other people, we wouldn't just kill everyone now would we.
I was thinking it would be Blitzen. I see him as being (as the story suggested) totally alpha but whenever hes around Velvet he becomes a bumbling beta orbiter.
When hes around the other main 5 members hes not bumbling but hes not a prick either. I think some of the others would treat him like a pest and he would just take it on the chin as he doesnt want to upset Velvet
Can someone, seriously speaking, explain to me such a vivid hatred towards Lauren Faust? I mean, I understand not liking her and one doesn't have to praise her but I just want to know the reason for so much anger towards her, considering she didn't do anything that harmed MLP brand or the show in any way. Are people like this because she "betrayed" them for TFH?
There have always been people who've hated Lauren. However, while the people who love her have always been able to gush over 'muh season one' and call the new seasons shit, this is the first time her haters have gotten an outlet to complain about. So, they're taking advantage of it and going full autism while it's still a popular topic.
Apparently a lot of people believe Lauren didn't do anything apart from creating the characters, some of the world and writing the first two episodes, so they think she's overrated and let their hatred flow, not realizing that she was the one who pushed the show to be watchable in the first place, even if the people running it now are obviously responsible for keeping it successful after she left. TFH is probably just the icing on the saltcake for them.
Of course she doesn't produce pure gold 100% of the time (e.g. applebumping was a stupid idea), but if she hadn't been for her, this show would be exactly like the previous generations and never would've had the following it has now. Like I said, the people who took over after she left knew what she wanted and continued what she had developed with their own perspective, and they deserve credit for keeping it successful, but without Lauren there wouldn't have been any success to keep up, and she had a huge role in s1. Her writing and influence was in every single episode - it's just that she was the only main writer for the first two. Not to mention the show bible.
(Mind the time code and listen for the next 4-5 minutes or so)
>I really had to push everyone in the beginning
>they had to be reminded that we're not making this show for babies
>designs like a choo choo train made out of cupcakes came in
>After she left we simply continued along the path she carved out for us, by then we had the pattern down and knew what she wanted
>Every episode in season one has Lauren written all over it.
>She and the great Rob Renzetti made sure the writing was superb, holding everyone to the highest standard.
>I just feel that with all the excitement of season two and with me appearing at Bronycon last weekend, the credit is being shifted on me a little more than I feel comfortable with. I just want to make sure everyone understands what a big role she played in the making of all this and give credit and praise to her.
Sorry, I copied some of this from an Anon in one of the recent threads who pointed out the most important parts.
I've also been curious about the dislike directed at Faust. I mean...all she did was completely redesign MLP after the godawful G3 version, which everyone admits was horrible. Faust created a good-looking show with great characters and the start of a really fun universe.
Just looking only at episodes 1 and 2 of Season 1, one can easily see that Faust did a great deal of work setting up the universe, story, and characters for MLP G4. Not to mention redesigning the look of the show, as well as designing/creating the main characters (as we currently know them). That was two years of hard work right there. Yes, other artists, writers and designers helped too, but Faust was the guiding force. Surely people must admit that she at least has a talent for creating great-looking, well-designed animated characters, many of them adorably cute.
Without Faust, MLP G4 (as we know it) would not even exist and I guess all you whining, hateful fags would be over in Steven Universe fandom, where honestly you all belong.
>mfw the autism of the Steven Universe fandom has utterly surpassed the bronies
Commonly used as synonyms, but not actually ones.
Sentient refers to being able to feel, react to stimuli, etc. Being able to Sense things.
Sapient refers to being wise or knowing. As in "Wise Man", or Homo sapiens. Or being savvy.
Pretty much every fandom does that. I don't see anyone whining about pokemon being in everything despite that fact.
I dunno why it's even surprising, people usually are a fan of more than just one thing, so of course they're going to fantasize, daydream, draw, write, etc, about the shit they like and combine it, regardless of how cringy it may seem to an outsider. It's just how shit works, always have and always will.
She created a great series, but she did so with a team that both built on her ideas, and both constrained her ideas.
I think Faust has some serious talent, but I also feel she is far better at directing than writing.I think TFHs lore has potential, but I see a lot of ideas and a lot of complaints brought on by too much creative freedom and too little constraint.
MLP would not exist with Faust, but it wouldn't have existed without a lot of other people, nor do I believe I'd still be a fan without Faust in there.
I'll make a really awful example, but I feel like if Faust is Brawl, the influence of her entire team is Project M.
Of course I'm not giving Lauren all the credit for the show being as popular as it is. Like you said, she needed talented people to bounce ideas off of and call her out on the ones that just weren't good.
I just felt like people don't realize that the show would've been just as terrible as the generation(s) before it if she hadn't been there to guide it in the first season and get the team she wanted. Naturally Hasbro also deserves credit for giving her the freedom to put together her team, getting people like Rob Renzetti on board who surely also contributed a ton to the show.
I think it's fair to say that without Lauren we wouldn't be on this board today - but we also wouldn't be here if she hadn't had the team that pushed the show even further once she made clear that this isn't supposed to be girly garbage and they can have fun and don't have to hold back.
I love the character designs, I love to see what the gameplay will be.
But make no mistake Faust is like a drinking faucet that needs to have a filter placed on it because it will occasionally release sewage. I feel too many people make Faust out to be far more talented than she really is.
I would rather people look at TFH to see a possibly more raw work at Faust's strengths and weaknesses. I want poeple to realzie she was the most important ingredient in the recipe, but it would still suck if she was hte only ingredient.
That is true about Faust and the MLP team and I did make sure to credit them as well as Faust. Most TV shows, films, and games are group efforts and sometimes you get really lucky and a great group gets formed which creates something wonderful. I really hope the Mane6 will be able to accomplish that.
I really enjoyed Pom's lore, so to each his own. This is just the beginning and the Lore will probably fleshed out more in the future. We are getting the initial building blocks.
And they've just started working on the game. Mane6 might even take reasonable suggestions offered by their backers. Who knows at this point?

Mane6 knows that they really need to get the new forum created, but they are also trying to deal with taking control of the Indiegogo money as well as setting up company logistics. Not to mention working on the actual game itself. We'll just have to be patient and hang out here for a while longer.
Since I am a filthy anon who hops between both fandoms I can say both are incompatible but it's mostly one sided. /sug/ doesn't get pone at all and it never will. It's too full of sjw. Neckbeards atleast try to keep to themselves somewhat.
