>>25341925 Yeah, I remember that. I'm talking about their lines in general. Why are they so obsessed with the "friendzone" and always talking about ""nice guys"" and "entitlement"? How do unrequited feelings or romance not exist?
It means there is no "friend zone." It means women don't owe you shit. If you take someone out to dinner with the expectation that they'll pay you back with sex, you are regarding them as a whore, engaged in a transaction of goods. Why should they consider you a potential SO in such circumstances?
>>25342058 >It means there is no "friend zone." It means women don't owe you shit. If you take someone out to dinner with the expectation that they'll pay you back with sex, you are regarding them as a whore, engaged in a transaction of goods. WHERE THE FUCKING HELL THINK YOU ARE ?
>>25342058 Nobody uses the term "friend zone" relating to someone their dating, though. The "entitlement" shaming is always used on sad lonely beta-males who couldn't even get that far, so that explanation isn't valid. Is that really what they mean, though? I guess I'm not the stupid one, if that's the case.
Anyone have the comic of the girl responding to a "nice guy" that basically said that men have to be clowns that entertain women constantly or they're shit and tried to say that everyone who doesn't act in a certain way is a faux intellectual who deserves no love because they're boring?
Reminder that the friendzone does "exist" and consists entirely of certain women not having the social skills or simply enough kindness to deal with a boy in a reasonable way. It is made almost entirely of spahghetti. Reminder that this is really all about making mistakes and bad behaviors of women socially acceptable while criminalizing as much as possible the exact same behavior in men. We're to hold the proverbial door of the relationship open so it doesn't slap her on the ass on the way out.
Reminder that women are now routinely so selfish and have such poor social skills they would rather tolerate being harassed for months or years than have a single socially difficult conversation.
Reminder that, man or woman, the human being is genetically a moron. If you're angry over trivial things like feeling 'oppressed' or 'criminalized' by the opposite gender, it's probably 95% your fault for meeting the wrong persons and being too lazy to look for new ones.
>>25342291 These are nouveau concepts the bourgeois class has indoctrinated and propagated among the people based on children's bedtime stories to entice people to buy their products and believe certain values to more easily employ self-interest-based policies and perhaps soft eugenics programs.
In the past people married because their parents arranged a marriage and they learned to become intimate with that partner for the sake of their offspring. Marriages were political and communal in nature to bridge families and friendships and divorces were used to break them, which is why they were so taboo historically.
>>25342281 >>25342302 This. It's about the infantilizing nature of feminist rhetoric today. And because being a child is easier than being an adult, it's of course striking a chord with Millennials who never want to grow up anyway.
>>25342390 You didn't read what was said later on. They employ these stories to inculcate certain ideas and to inveigle people into materialistic pursuits for the maintenance of the current societal structure which benefits them greatly.
>>25342395 >Millennials who never want to grow up anyway.
I don't really understand the angst about "being an adult." Whenever I see "adult" being used as a verb by other Millenials I just shake my head to be honest. Even more irritating are the ones who get a stick up their asses pretending to be "mature adults" because they have a shitty 9 to 5 and an apartment. Paying bills and having a job isn't "adult", it's basic survival. Speaking as a 20-something idiot manchild, I'd say that as a rule 20-somethings are just very stupid. And this stupidity is reflected in the rhetoric we experience every day on the internet.
It's too late, they're doing this based on an incorrect theory in sociology called "critical theory". Here are the key points of "critical race theory", in which feminism has inculcated itself as a minority faction so they're using these same tactics.
"A critique of liberalism: CRT scholars favor a more aggressive approach to social transformation as opposed to liberalism's more cautious approach, favor a race conscious approach to transformation rather than liberalism's embrace of color blindness, and favor an approach that relies more on political organizing, in contrast to liberalism's reliance on rights-based remedies."
"Storytelling/counterstorytelling and "naming one's own reality"—using narrative to illuminate and explore experiences of racial oppression."
>>25342468 Man, I see worse. I see the ones complaining about how "school never taught me how to do laundry or cook!" and shit like that. One, there actually are classes in most high schools where you can learn to do that, it's called Home Ec but apparently it was too sexist. And two, you should have learned that before you left home.
While a marxist critique of romanticism is intriguing I think it's far too reductionist to claim that all romantic artistry spanning the centuries was propagated purely for hegemonic, materialistic reasons. the alternative would be literature upholding the value of arranged marriage, which itself could be critiqued as valuing communal wealth and political consolidation over personal autonomy and freedom. literature as an object produced within society has a twofold effect, both maintaining AND informing the status quo (the zeitgeist is a fluid object)
>>25342557 It was originally crafted sincerely but it was meant for children. You can look at the themes of Don Quijote to see how society, and Cervantes, found these romantic ideals to be contrarian to essentialist and pragmatic realism.
As time went on we had other literary movements, such as modernism and pomo which deconstructed these fables and looked at the world in a more cynical way.
Of course art and culture shape each other, but the culture utilizes pre-existing mythos to craft new stories, as the newer literary movements have done. These new stories shape thoughts regarding human values like love which are based on tenuous biological imperatives to construct models of living for the ruling classes' benefit.
I think the fundamental gap in logic is the universalizing of members of a given race/gender/economic archetype. i.e. all white males are equivalent with all white males, all black females are equivalent with all black females, etc.
Under the guise of fairness, the population is unfairly segmented and assigns "lack of privilege" to potentially very privileged individuals who happen to be part of a race or class that has been judged as universally underprivileged, while the opposite occurs with races and classes judged as "privileged."
Effective change needs to be centered around each individual as a unique entity, not couched in terms of sweeping social change; such broad strokes simply do not work, and yet the social justice movements are continually distracted by dreams of massive unilateral "movements" that will enact positive change for everyone
Reminder that no-one talks about the friend zone more than feminists.
>>25341966 Because they have to frame everything in terms of how they're victimized.
Even when things benefit them, and people are bending over backwards to try to give them advantages and give them the benefit of being treated like a girlfriend without the reciprocation of treating the other person like a boyfriend, the fundamental rule in how they see their entire life is "how is this victimizing me?".
This victim cult destroys any chance of a healthy human mind growing that will learn to address and overcome any real problems.
>>25341925 I think I only saw a few of them. Is there a set somewhere?
>>25342763 To be honest, I don't see the world in such stark terms. Just providing an exaggerated ideological standpoint to instigate discussion.
I do believe love though is something based on neurochemically and psychologically-based factors and then to fill in a sort of existential yearning inherent with being human, we crafted idealistic and romantic narratives. These can then be exploited or utilized by whoever has the clout to do so.
>>25342058 >If you take someone out to dinner with the expectation that they'll pay you back with sex, you are regarding them as a whore, engaged in a transaction of goods. If you accept an invitation to a meal or a movie, but expect them to pay your way, then you're treating that person like a slave. Why should they consider your company to be that valuable?
Imagine all the times you've met up and spent time with your friends, or other people you like. You're expected to pay your own way if you do this. If you regularly expect others to pay for you, then you're not going to be invited to go out for much longer.
>>25342926 You're supposed to buy women things with no entitlement of being treated better in the future or given anything at all. Because they're using the traditional male-dominated expectations that men wait on women, but suddenly decided that the traditional "payout" wasn't what they wanted to do anymore.
They wanted to have their cake and eat it too. The whole system that they're taking advantage of, and promoting as empowering is directly based in the misogynistic view of women as weak and childlike.
They complain about "WOW MEN EXPECT SEX FOR ACTING LIKE A BASIC HUMAN BEING TO WOMEN" when it isn't that. The system used to be that men were in fact entitled to stuff when they gave women stuff, but that's not how it should work anymore. Again, have cake and eat it too.
>>25342104 Something happened, and she's come out of retirement to shit things up again. I don't remember what it was, but her saying that she was going to shut things down and stop starting shit turned out to be a lie, to everyone's dissapointment.
Most people try to let things die at some point, and I was even willing to ignore her, but shit, she's probably actually mentally fucked up in the head.
It's definitely an interesting viewpoint, one that I hadn't considered before.
Considering that love is a chemical phenomenon emergent out of the countless other chemical phenomena that underpin reality, it could be construed that existential yearning and the subsequent crafting of idealistic and romantic narratives are both inherent properties of reality, as are exploitation (and the resistance to and overcoming of that exploitation)... but I suppose this is a rather romantic way of looking at things ;)
For all that tumblr is a cesspit of awfulness in general, there are odd islands of sanity, and based tena is one of them.
From what I can tell with a quick skim-through, April is just being a drama queen and bringing up stuff that happened two years ago and pretending to be a victim about it all now.
Oh, I think I remember now. There was a fanart made of a Steven Universe character, Rose Quartz, and someone drew her being a bit on the thin side, so over 20 hate blogs were formed, and the SU fandom harrassed this fanartist to the point where they attempted suicide was was hospitalized.
April's telling everyone how this is really all about her, like the kid brony who attempted suicide due to bullying and is now brain damaged, and the brony who was killed by being run over two cars.
Joking about edgy shit is one thing, but this person is fucking with actual, real tragedies that have affected real human beings in a permanent way.
>>25342281 There are also women who deliberately string men along so that the men treat them like girlfriends by buying her things, doing their work for them, and just generally going way out of their way to be super kind to them, and they just take, take, take without giving anything back.
I think a big part of the problem is that we have at least 3 different kinds of relationships being described under the friend zone label, simply because we don't have many other terms to use.

Sniffing Slovenian man is always funny.
Regardless, it's nice to envision love as this spiritual, effervescent force that brings two people in a beautiful union. I want to be more sincere and authentic to think like that, but self-doubt prevents that I suppose.
>>25343140 http://www.horse-news net/2015/04/brony-run-over-by-2-cars-in-hit-and-run.html Sean Ray. (links to two news articles about the incident are in the horse news link. Putting more links in a post apparently means 4chan thinks it's spam.)
He was hit by the first car by some girl talking on her cellphone. She stopped and got out of her car, but kept talking on her cellphone to finish the conversation before calling 911.
Then a second car ran him over, which then drove away.
>Alabama pony fan Sean Rey , 26, was hospitalized after a double hit-and-run while cycling to work. He has skull fractures, orbital fractures, 12-14 spinal fractures, a shattered pelvis, and numerous other injuries.
>>25342264 Not that anon, but I've never once been to that shithole, and that's essentially why people tout traps as superior to women. It's a desired body type with the associated mannerisms coupled to a familiar and relatable mentality.
>>25344747 That'd be nice if the users of said board weren't such rampant shitposters.
That being said, much like most of the posts on 4chan, they make them in jest. Given my interactions with robots, some of them are just really upset or socially inept people who seek the company of likeminded individuals to bolster themselves, but there are those who come to believe the /r9k/ mentality and apply it outside of the board. It's those people who I disapprove of.
>>25342468 >>25342511 >>durr why should we fix a problem that would be easy? figure it out yourselves the real ironic thing is despite being way more successful than me economically, most of you old fucking retards are so far up your own ass you wont believe basic shit like calories not being the same thing as sugar because you're the responsible adult and I'm the fuck up.
I've watched grown men and women litterally destroy their success from the ground up because of their shitty inability to do basic things like talk to eachother.
the idea that millennial are just a bunch of whiny fucks surrounded by people more competent than them is a joke.
>>25342511 Hell, I don't know why more people didn't take Home Ec, or the Cooking course at high school. I did.
It was basically a buffet every week, where we got to eat what we made.
For some reason, even most of the people in the course were sad sacks of shit. I was one of only 3 people who passed the cooking safety exam at the tail end of the course the first time. Some people had to retry it twice to get it.
That shit's an actual license and qualification you can use after high school that isn't a diploma.
>>25342543 First job I ever had was back in highschool, I worked at target. Everyone in that store was of color, I the only one white. I was the fastest to "zone" the isles. Bitch super would purposly mess the isles again over and tell me to start again. Supposed to get a break over a certain period of hours, never at the end of your shift to prevent thous leaving early. Never got breaks. You can't say anything because they are black.
>>25346327 Someone who is so invested in their own conspiracy theories that they dismiss some of the most fundamental driving forces of humanity as tools of the oppressor is not the kind of person to whom I lend credibility or respect.
You care more about being the smartest person in the room than you do about being a person at all.
>>25346407 You didn't read any of my following posts. :^)
And if you think that people with clout don't exploit our biological imperatives and have been doing so since civilization began, whether to gear one for war or to advertise a product through usage of sexual cues, then you're delusional.
>>25346432 I did read them, actually, though only after making the "sociopath" post. You seem marginally more reasonable there, but your inherent distrust of anyone with wealth or influence still gives off an air of unjust paranoia and your self-assured condescension toward those who find your statements flawed only shows your arrogance.
Every good thing can be abused to control us. But that is not why love and intimacy exist. They are not concepts constructed by "the bourgeois"- a nebulous enemy used as justification for wrongdoing, much like "the patriarchy"- to control the weak masses. They are a part of humanity, as much as friendship and fear. You don't become wiser by abandoning these parts of life. You just become weaker and more alone.
