Would you be upset if humans appeared in the background of one of the upcoming IDW comics?
Trying to get Mr. Cunrow to make something a priority.
>implying I give a fuck about non-canon merchandise
The reactions here are really paradox...
On one side most content here involves somehow humans (stories, pics...) and yet the majority of you fags hate the idea of Human in Equestria.
Same with other sides too...Human in Equestria stories are quite popular yet the idea of it is universally hated.
Humans are used mostly as a way of an viewer avatar. The ponies are so human like that it is pointless to have them in.
Funny enough humans existing is a more heavily debated topic in the /TFH/ generals.
I'm already completely upset about the comics. Since Curnow can't do shit as an editor, any artist can put as many humans in the background as they want. Nobody in IDW gives a fuck.
Then why dont you all just use anon pony as an reader avatar?
Pointless...? There are plenty of stories who show how diffrent ponies and humans are.
There would be enough ideas of how to establish humans as a meaningful race in equestria (technological advanced, warlike...).
We are bitter about it because we don't want this game to become some kind of social commentary about predator vs prey and cattle farming.
Also, you expect FAUST to give that kind of material justice?
>implying Curnow gives a shit
Anon pls. He's just letting whoever he gets write/draw whatever pony crap they want, making sure it doesn't violate the comic rating (ie, nobody drawing Twilight ripping someone's head off), and sending it to the printers.
Anything not forbidden is allowed.
>There would be enough ideas of how to establish humans as a meaningful race in equestria (technological advanced, warlike...).
Here's actually part of the reason I'm opposed to humans (not just those Equestria Girls abominations, but actual humans) appearing in FiM.
If they did show up, I would want them to be portrayed as being fundamentally different from ponies - having a different worldview, with our own brand of success that doesn't necessarily jive well with the ponies' harmony-above-all-else vibe. If ponies are the standing for human-approximations in the show, then I'd like the human characters to be more alien from the ponies' perspective.
The problem is, the show can't do that. I mean, look at the track record so far for portraying other species:
>Changelings are the designated villain race
>Griffons live in a shithole until ponies tell them how to live right
>Yaks have permanent anger issues
>Zebras have barely appeared at all
>Breezies would literally be extinct if not for pony help
The producers have decided the ponies have to be shown as superior to other species. If humans were to show up, I'm afraid they'd either be another designated villain, portrayed as wrong until corrected by the ponies, or just be so pony-like they're basically ponies in different forms. None of those particularly interest me, and so I'd prefer to see them left out.
What would be a plausible scenario that would cause Hasbro to want to terminate their relationship with IDW, falling profits clearly doesn't matter Hasbro doesn't pay for the comic book production.
I will post humble bundle game codes in the thread for every answer I like. Especially if it involves Hasbro wanting to work with fans or fan startup companies.
Ultimately don't matter anyway because the MLP comic is still the highest seller and top earner regardless if it lost 10-20k readers over the course of it's life.
