What's the worst Cardiacs album?
I have a secret record collection.
My mother gave me all her vinyl when I was young.
My father gave me his when he died.
I have nearly two thousand records.
Never played. colored, single press bullshit.
What do? I know I have a collection of early punk to turn skins black with envy. I'm not quite sure how to store them even...
HELP ME /mu/
Don't stack them vertically, avoid extreme temperatures (for example, an attic could get very cold in the winter), preferably keep them in plastic sleeves to protect the covers, but the ones in pic related looks pretty worn, so it's probably not much of a point by now.
They are stored horizantally, in filing cabinets and difficult to remove. I have a couple stacks on shelves, and I live in Arizona. So it tends to either be hot and humid or hot and dry.
That was a picture from google. These are so pristine.
Best neo-prog bands?
ITT: personal 11/10s
Can't wait to hear the rest of their discography to see how they evolved
What happened to The Weeknd's music?
Trilogy is probably one of my favourite albums ever (I know they're just mixtapes) but when you compare it to Kiss Land, and (even worse) Beauty Behind The Madness, you really notice a HUGE drop in musical quality. All the raw emotion and darkness his music once had has dramatically vanished. That side is apparent in his music videos, but not the music itself.
Do you think this happened because he went mainstream and worked with other producers/record labels? I like to think one day he realises this pop shit will give...

Look at the buzz he was getting by the times Echos dropped though. (Granted he was giving it all out for free at the time) I really don't think he would of financially struggled selling and touring the music he was making if he kept that style up and explored it deeper. I still bet over half of the people going to his shows want stuff played from Trilogy.

What does /mu/ think of Arctic Monkeys?
Normally not the kind of music I like, but I am really enjoying this.
best way for music?
throw rolling stone, p4k, allmusic, consequence of sound, and RyM onto the left side. All are hype beasts.
Fantano is honest so that's fine, and /mu/core are /mu/core because they get talked about here.
Also put "the listener's impartial opinion" onto the right side.
best band from around 1985 to 1990?
Have you listened to this in full? It's very much acid Jazz I thought. Or at least you would need some proficiency in Jazz techniques to play this music.
I'm fucking amazed that they came out with amazing stuff in the early 80s and they spent 30 years perfecting their technique before they released another album. Most artists that old are fucking burnouts, but they are a seriously underrated heavy metal band, who I'm actually proud to see in the spot light of modern times.
What's the best Radiohead song and why is it Life In A Glasshouse?
The thing is, Life in a Glasshouse is really unique. Not just from a 'rock' perspective, but generally. That New Orleans style of slow funeral jazz isn't often utilised in any form, in Jazz music or otherwise. I agree OP, this live version is especially fantastic
