>those absolute meme picks
>that retarded voice
>that all around poor fucking attitude seeping out of every pore
>doesn't even know fucking Rilo Kiley
>is a self-confessed episode-skipper
>the list goes on
he doesn't even make interesting music. why does anyone give a shit about him again?
Whats harder and darker than iron maiden. Im looking for black demonic hard rock or at least screamin metal.
neither of those are actual genres.
>what's harder and darker than iron maiden
hardcore punk, No Wave, harsh EBM, death industrial, hardcore techno, doom metal, thrash metal, death metal, black metal, industrial metal, and the vast majority of industrial rock.
Iron Maiden isn't particularly dark or particularly hard.
Whats your current AOTY?
Just found out that my girlfriend of three years has been cheating on me for a long time.
I'm about to go to her house to get my shit back.
I'm looking for some good music that won't make me want to drive off of a bridge or into oncoming traffic.
>"I don't fuck with gooks, that's the only reason Yams died"
How did he get away with this?
Is vaporwave dead?
From their exotic sound to their slow merge into the mainstream, Twenty One Pilots is beginning to take over the sound of alternative music. Here are 5 reasons Twenty One Pilots are without a doubt going to be on your next party playlist:
1. Josh's drumming skills
2. They always give hope
3. Original songs
4. They don't really have a genre
>They don't really have a genre
I know this is a joke thread, but why do people think this is such a great thing? All it means is they are pandering their sound to fit literally everybody at the expense of mastering one genre that they could possibly be really good at.
this is the first jazz album i genuinely enjoyed. i've listened to mingus, davis, coltrane, etc. and none have made me be glad to listen to jazz other than this (perhaps mostly due to my untrained ears)
any other recs for similar albums?
Why did it take so long for people to start pitch-shifting repeated vocal samples to make melodies? Why didn't people use similar techniques to Crystal Castles or Blank Banshee in the 80s if they had the technology to? Why has it only recently become a trend? Or am I completely wrong about this? Post some early examples of similar stuff if you know any.
What do you think will be the next big development in popular music?
having a trip to scotland with friends
they like 60-80 music vaporwave and more.
what does /mu recommend
ITT: Album covers you would eat
I like Getz/Gilberto. What else will I like?
/mu/, I drive a truck for a living. What are good truckin albums or songs? Or just good driving music? I like to listen to music but I'm wearing out the few CDs I keep with me in the cab.
Magma just released pretty much every album they've made, live or studio, on Spotify.
Does anyone care?
Most of us don't use streaming services and I'd rather pirate 320kbps/flac/wav copies without shilling out my frugal earnings to some scam software company.
the weird frontier between poop and ant-man are these guys the saviers of music?
I'm at Tacoma international airport and downed a 5 hour energy and a large black coffee I am currently listening to big black - atomizer and I am on the track titled big money. What else should I listen to
This sounds like if Ren and Stimpy made an album
ITT: bad artists who make bad music
Can we all agree this is his best album ?
Recently discovered this:
So massive, so grand, so EPIC. From the moment his vocals started my eyes filled with tears. Fucking metal man...
**Doesn't have to be metal**, but I'm hoping /mu/ can bring me the same level of sanity-threatening awesomeness. Meanwhile I'll dig up a couple of other performances that have done that to me.
LOVED this one:
The flailing cry of trying and trying and trying to shake off this feeling that your life isn't working and you can't figure out why...
Born In Winter:
We came from absolutely nothing, the infinitely cold, assembled from drifting motes of dust, until cataclysmically we assembled into a "person", a "society", a "species". Never better captured in music and lyric. How dare I ever feel fear or apprehension?
mfw I realised this song is about me
should i listen to bones?
>I hate metal. It's so juvenile and repetitive
>Favorite band: The Velvet Underground
I think it's clear that Sunbather is the better work now that we know HHH is a hack that got lucky once
Remain In Light vs Discipline
It's 1967 in /mu/
The fact that so many books still name the Beatles as "the greatest or most significant or most influential" rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics are still blinded...
