Not stuff like Pink Floyd or Kid A Radiohead where it's the more cliche type of synths being used. But like a variety of different sounds and noises like Faust on this album. A non-rock example of the electronic would be like Autechre these days where it's like a bunch of sounds hitting the listener rather than preset synths. Idk if I am making sense, but yeah anything else like that?
I haven't heard Faust but I'd say try Portishead or Ratatat. Portishead is pretentious mu-ey shit and ratatat is quite catchy.
also joy division but everyone's heard of Joy Division.
what did he mean by this?
"I Run New York" and "The Pedigree" by Dean Blunt.
~13k - ~15k. Why.
What's /mu/'s opinion of Jandek?
Great I own many of his CDs and wrote to him in the early 90's. The internet kind of ruined his mythology and I wish he never did those live shows and revealed himself but I'm sure he has a reasoning behind it
how did she make Ys? it doesn't sound like anything anyone would have done
Songs that make you wanna stand up and fight with oversized machine guns, missile launchers and great swords.
Songs such as SDMF and Bersekers from Black Label Society
i mean of course listening to gloryhammer makes you wanna battle dragons and listening to alestorm makes you wanna travel the seven seas but, what about some real weight like a BLS like music?
Album Of The Year So Far Thread? Thoughts?
if Smile came out in 1967 do you think it would be regarded higher than Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band?
no, because the beatles took everything brian wilson was trying to do in the studio and applied it to sgt pepper... they go even further on the white album trying to copy his americana psychedelia back to roots approach as well as mixing in their eastern spiritualism shit
tl;dr no fucking way
Like Rapeman, but neo-psychedelic.

Greatest... album... ever
i hate people who say "i dont need drugs to listen to psych music, im high on life!"
i like being sober as much as the next guy, i wouldnt want to be high all the time, but to say that you like psych music and dont need drugs to enjoy it or that youve never taken drugs and understand psych at all, you are a fucking moron... there is NO COMPARISON to riding an acid trip and listening to Lonerism, no fucking comparison not even if you took DMT
Talk about Swans
What songs would you show someone who was completely unaware of their music? Particularly someone who was going to be seeing them live on their current tour. I was thinking Screen Shot might be good cause it's somewhat short and digestible but still gives you an idea of their repetitive tendencies which build into something huge and loud.
You know what I did with my dad?
We sat down and listened to the Glowing Man all the way through together.
And he said that the concert was "Interesting..." which is better than "OMG WHY U LISTEN TO THIS SATAN BAND"
Is 2016 the year of meme electronic ?

What does /mu/ think?
What do you guys think of M.I.A ?
This was released yesterday:
I like it. But I miss when her music was more loose. I remember back in 2005 when Galang had came out and I saw it on MTV. I can't describe it but it was something more raw about it. There was something more raw about both Arular and Kala. Maya was a fun mess. And the 4th album was good but it came down to more traditional song structure and her honing the pop shit more strongly. Still not a bad album in her discography imo.
Her new stuff sounds good but not M.I.A , maybe it's a stylistic change and the old M.I.A's gone but fuck, the new single feels off. Probably has to do with Diplo not producing anymore
Arular > Kala > Maya
>download yik yak
What the fuck bros.
Is this a meme album or one of the rare blockbusters to be adored by plebs and patricians alike?
What does /mu/ think of James Blunt?
I impulsively shaved my head and regret it now. Music for this feel?
