Who /unironicallylovesdadrock/ here?
I love all music but dad rock holds a special place for me because
a) I grew up listening to it with my actual dad
b) Bruce Springsteen resonated with me as a skinny teenage x-county nerd for some reason and
c) now that I'm an adult with a shit ton of outside stresses and responsiblities sometimes it's nice to have a huge genre of familar, chill music to fall back on. I still love putting on a good challenging album but if I'm driving home from work and it's been a long day there's nothing wrong with a little Jackson Brown or Hall & Oates...

Albums that need to get YOU before you can "get them"

How do you guys cope with the feeling when you love an album, but the people who surround it are so cancerous that you start to lose love for it? it's happened with To Be Kind, TPAB, and Joanna Newsom (all of her work) for me and I don't know what to do

Is pic related her best album? Anything else of hers worth checking out?
Check out her other albums. Have You in My Wilderness isn't her best work but it's still of very high caliber. In many ways I look at it as a rarities album because of the reworks of older songs. I don't like the new version of Sea Calls Me Home, but Betsy on the Roof is outstanding and probably the best on the album. Feel You and Vasquez are both top notch also.
LCS > Ekstasis > Tragedy > Wilderness
What does /mu/ think of them? I was pretty cynical at first but their new tape is a great introduction to their stuff and I'm really loving most of what they put out.
Going on a date with a girl tomorrow and so far the plan is just going to the beach and looking at stars. I am in need of songs to set a mood.
Stuff like LSD and the search for God and smashing pumpkins and even Brian Eno is perfect but I need some more thanks
