Trying to get into metal, what bands should I check out
Is this /mu/core yet?
Phil is just such a lyrical juvenille though. He has an impressive vocal range and Dime was the very best riffer/shredder... Vinnie drummed well, rex grooved well. I still feel like they are really the state of the art metal-wise. But dem lyrics, yikes
Who has the best voice of all time?
Pic definitely related
Guys, what the fuck is a vapor wave?
Even though Vaporwave is kind of a joke genre, pervaded by 9gag memes about A E S T H E T I C and post-post-post irony, I feel like it has an "accidental stroke of genius" feel to it at times.
Like, when they slowed down that Diana Ross song and put it along with Windows 95 imagery, somehow it all "clicked" perfectly, creating a feeling of childhood nostalgia along with a strange feeling of being in a neon Japanese mall and...

Nobody talks about this guitar master here, really sad.
what's the least repetitive musician you know? for some reason all music i know is repetitive. for most of a song you can guess what's going to be the next sound. it's really shitty. i'm sure someone could make a great set of songs without being repetitive but musicians seem to be lazy/dumb/unmotivated as heck
This is the least repetitive rock song I could think of:
Realistically, free jazz is the least repetitive.
Fuck you, I like it
Just listened to this album for the first time and let me say that I've been completely blown away. This album had me feeling very uplifted and euphoric. Great fucking stuff right here.
rec/rate/guess in a haiku
you can't scrobble gf
so do you like
ITT: artists with no shitty albums
If you can find a worse album review I'd sure like to see it
My only problem is the title. It's "a lot" not "alot," Vic.
He is such a faggot if he thinks his shit is the "There's A Riot Goin On" of the current day and that's why he called it that.
Fucking rich boy from the Chicago suburbs, I hate him. He's not a very good rapper and this tape blew cock.
I don't think he was rich, middle class, sure. But I don't see what that has to do with the music.
I personally liked it and I'm excited for Traffic. I thought he was trash ever since Feel That but this made me regain a sliver of hope.
Does /mu/ like Odesza?
So Ween finally clicked for me. I really loved Quebec and The Mollusk, and I've got White Pepper going right now and it's awesome. Should I just get everything they ever did?
Also general Ween discussion thread. Favorite albums/tracks, etc. Exactly Where I'm At is my current favorite track although ti's still new for me.
Stereogum nu-male comment section said it's because he's black and the French are racist, are they right?
Is she right?
what do you think of random access memories?
Anyone out there?
Their second album was fucking terrible so I decided to only ever listen to the first one and EP. Do they still do glam rock bullshit?
Also OP how about actually contributing to your thread instead of waiting for other people.
The first rap song i enjoyed was 'Garbage' by Tyler, off of GTA V. i was put the fuck off by the vulgarity, but then started to fucking love it. Wolf is essentially what got me into listening to music, and also s/o to Earl
Kaleidoscope by Tiesto.
Got me into Trance, and the feat with Tegan and Sara got me into indie. 7 years later and i listen to all genres except country and have a shit ton of albums in my collection.
How can this be considered Kendrick Lamar's "magnum opus" when so many people worked on the album? Kendrick is almost overshadowed by features and co-writers on this album, and the production credits are huge. Not to say it isn't a great album, but I think it should be seen more as a success of current music and popular culture and less of one single person
A writer isn't necessarily someone who writes bars for the artist. Producers, background vocalists, featured artist, people who inspired the artist in some manner (sometimes) are credited as writers.
Regardless, I don't view that as devaluing the project in any way. These people on the album are tools and paints that the painter utilizes to paint his artwork.
Is it just me or have most of the "big" albums of 2016 been slightly underwhelming? 2016 has been the year of "good not great."
How can this be considered Kanye West's "magnum opus" when so many people worked on the album? Kayne is almost overshadowed by features on this album, and the production credits are huge. Not to say it isn't a great album, but I think it should be seen more as a success of current music and popular culture and less of one single person.
What are some artists who are entry-level but also """patrician"""
5x5 rate rec assume
