They're lowkey one of the best bands of this decade.
Action Bronson's rap game is the embodiment of a 5 star restaurant?
His bars have elegance, he's not just another mumbling lean-sipping junkie. This fucker has class
Type the first word of an album and have others guess the name of the album.
How do I become a skilled guitar player in less than 5 years without a teacher?
By far their most detailed production effort since Kid A, perhaps even ecclipsing. On top of that, most adventurous songwriting since Kid A.
I am impressed!
There's no energy in any of the band members, they sound like old men who are losing their connection with each other. On top of that most of the album is midtempo ballads that have a weak sense of melody, an unforgiveable crime.
I'm inclined to agree. Forgot to mention, it feels like a much more honest work than TKOL, they seem to have found a new interest in indulging in some of their pop sensibilities, especially on Burn The Witch
Has Snoop Dogg ever been surprised? I've never seen him without a calm expression, and demeanor.
Who is the Tarkovsky of music
I think a lot of tarkovsky's works have very easily understandable thematic elements. They just are more apparent with repeated listens. So id say swans, sigur ros and maybe some of bjork's more avant garde work.
Post god-tier pop punk that is akin to TSSF and Neck Deep. I am looking for relatively unknown, yet very good stuff. Help me out /mu/
Not quite pop-punk but a great fucking
>find a new song
>love the shit out of it
>play it non-stop
>burn yourself out on it forever
What's her name, /mu/?
>Milk N' Honey
I wish Anderson had more songs like this. It has this incredible attitude and fun personality that's missing from a lot of his other shit, especially his latest album.
Do you guys remember Hollywood undead?
ITT: post albums you've cried to
hip-hop kids who've never listened to anything emotionally-stirring need not apply
So I just read that he never wears earplugs.
How the fuck is he not deaf? How long can you play at insanely loud levels before you do serious damage? Does the hearing loss get progressively worse as you get older?
I was at an outdoor Swans concert and had tinnitus for a couple days. Its crazy that he doesn't, maybe some people just have ears that are tough as nails or he does have some kind of hearing damage and its not as bad for him anymore or something
First time listening to this album and band. What should I expect from this?
how do you feel about 2016 plebcore?
Why did AnCo never make any other album with harmonies this complex?
what are your top 5 favorite of this year so far?
1. Moonface and Siinai - My Best Human Face
2. Hammock - Everything and Nothing
3. Julianna Barwick

>You see this image? There's nothing on it yet but there is going to be.

>every album with 10 approvals or more will be a contender for the final list (approvals carry over threads)
>once we reach 100-150 albums, I'll make a poll to vote for your favorites from the list, leaving us with the final ranked 100 list

Rock isn't dead, it's just not very popular, even here on /mu/ where there's no excuse to not know about good current rock releases
Post good rock albums that have come out this year. I'll start!
This is much much heavier, although I would still consider it a descendant of punk rock moreso than heavy metal.
Video is really cool too
Beehoover is German two piece (drums and bass guitar). At a glance it might sound like a stripped down Tool fronted by Serj Tankian, but these guys go all over the place.
>my homeboy, the artificer of the universe
How do white musicians and music fans feel about the fact that we invented literally every genre of music? How do you reconcile the fact that everything you do or like is cultural appropriation?
why do people like this album it's so boring
Hey guys, let's do this.
What are you listening to? How are your projects? Post gear, talk about noise, blah blah blah
Pic related is a recent favorite
This is my setup currently. I'm using a cheap radio as a sound source and running that through a few distortion pedals. I also have a drum machine. Below the wooden stands are some concealed cables and the surge protector and stuff
this is an old picture of not all my shit
I'll take one in the dark if this thread lives
This is what I do with it
>Lou Reed died at 69
>David Bowie died at 69
>Iggy Pop just turned 69
Why do people listen to this when its so dated and twenty one pilots did the same thing better?
7x7, last month. guess > rec > r8
Suzanne Langille, Andrew Burnes, David Daniell & Loren MazzaCane Connors - Let the Darkness Fall
good taste /good taste
good taste / good taste
bad taste/bad taste
Runner-up: Stressed Out
Worst: Tear In My Heart
Underrated: We Don't Believe What's On TV
why the fuck do you not worship at the altar of this album
because it's fucking perfect
how can you not listen to every goddamn track on this album
hear those fucking beautiful melodies and those string harmonies
those incredible guitar licks
and Win's goddamn Pixies like emotive voice
how does that not fucking re-engage your belief in God
Which of these albums would you say is heavier?
How do you define 'heaviness'?
Ugh, how truly appalling it is, to behold what passes for "music" nowadays. One finds nothing demonstrative (or even in the slightest indicative) of lyrical, instrumental, or vocal virtuosity; nothing of a sensitive insight or treatment of the human condition; nothing ennobling, edifying, or inspiring, nothing intellectually and emotionally provocative or engaging; nothing of any existential substance; but rather, we are treated to insipidity, mediocrity, infantility, and gratuitous obscenity and cacophony, accented by dumbed-down monosyllabic verse. Beethoven, Wagner, Tchaikovsky, and all the veritable artistic geniuses of centuries past would truly be utterly disgusted to behold the extent to which the musical form has devolved.
I never expected fans of this abhorrent racket to have the intellectual wherewithal to have any other argument than personal attacks and abuses, and mocking sarcasm. Indeed, I have thus far been proven correct.
Are Twenty One Pilots experimental hip hop, post-rap, or abstract hip hop? Or all three?
