Pablo >> My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Can we all agree on this?
Has anyone on /mu/ ever heard this album? I didn't see it in the catalog and I think it's pretty good. It's called In the Aeroplane Over the Sea if your interested.
Everyone should also check out this album. It's really good despite being made a relatively unknown band.
>bassist plays double bass
>it's a pop band
This is so much better than MBV
Hey /mu/ I'm throwing a party for the first time in my life tomorrow
Can you give me music that will make the bitches grind up on eachother and hopefully result in girls getting topless
You do dance at concerts, don't you /mu/?
I wouldn't say I "dance" in the traditional sense...I just sort of move erratically to the music and the tone of the musicians' playing.
Honestly, I can move to any music. I move a bit at live jazz exhibitions.
I don't get it
Why does Pitchfork think this is 10/10?
ITT: Albums that tricked you into thinking a genre would be good.
Post cool band name ideas. I have no clue what I should name my band. I've thought about collective imagination but it seems cheesy. We're a psych/indie/punk band.
what are some good blues compilations?
>Samurai Sword starts playing
How do you write music? I know how to play guitar, but a qt has asked me to play in her shoegaze project and I don't know shit about composition.
um, if its HER project
wouldnt she be writing the shit?
what's he listening to, /mu/?
Bands that Pitchfork hates
Does anyone have digital copies of the 33 1/3 books? Also, what are the best books in the series?
i've seen it in the archive.
the author of the 33 1/3 book on Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works Vol II reviewed one of my tracks from an EP I put out and it's one of the coolest things that's happened to me as an artist.
How's your Memorial weekend going /mu/? Are you thankful for the ones who fought, and died for you to enjoy the freedoms that you have? What are you listening to?
You know, albums with no fisic or digital format whatsoever.
The earliest Boards of Canada stuff (although Scaruffi has some of it), Christ's first two albums. The first GYBE release. DJ Pinky's Deadly Friendz LP. All of Black Shop Records releases from Memphis (I think that's what it is called), and Imwusi (from MOTU)'s debut LP to name a few are probably lost forever.
So I was wondering why isn't there a seperate music listeners and musicians board? Or more like, why isn't there a musicians board on 4chan?
tfw you will never have a good discussion of 20th century classical music on /mu/
tfw the hours you spend talking to 18 year olds will never pay off
tfw you'd be better off having shitty taste and more productive
>the rich people want what the poor people got
>and the poor people want what the rich people got
Have you ever heard another album this class conscious, /mu/?
NOVE DA MATINA O DIA TÁ PRA COMEÇAR
Famous musicians that are currently lurking at /mu/: How did you become succesful in the music industry?
What do you think of Sleater-Kinney?
I like them.
Corin Tucker is cute.
Does anyone actually care about music videos?
Music videos are important for establishing context for a band's music. It gives the viewer a greater depth in how the band chooses to present itself, and the fact that it is visual media paired with audio media, it gives the brain a greater variety of stimuli to latch onto, creating an impression that lasts much longer and is much more vivid in the mind than audio alone.
I can't tell you how many times I've hated a band's music, only later to look up a video and to have the entire package click in a way that the solitary song or album did not, leading...

Paranoid Android is the greatest song of all time
Daily reminder: Phil Elvrum is a musical genius and you should all get down on your knees and suck his thick, circumcised, American cock for releasing so much transcendental music into the Universe.
>It's that Futurama episode that pretends Beastie Boys and Beck are worth listening to
>it's that one anon on /mu/ that thinks his opinions are worth listening to
>It's that American Dad episode that pretends My Morning Jacket are worth listening to
