When did you grow up and realize you're not too good for pop music, /mu/?
A few years ago. I mean it's feel good, catchy music, sometimes artists bring something new or unconventional to the table.
But Drake hit his peak at IYRTITL. Views was boring, librarycore dribble.
Gord Downie lead singer of The Tragically Hip was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.
2016 the year music died.
ITT: albums virgins will never understand
Can someone please recommend me albums that are not sad or about women because I'm going through some heartbreaking shit with an ex girlfriend when I wasn't ready to leave her and now music hurts like fucking hell because i swear it feels like every single song is about love or a woman or something depressing.
i cant even fully enjoy coloring book because every song except for mixtape and no problems and angels is about lost connections or missed opportunities or some other bullshit that puts my girl's face back into my head. same with AMSP, same with...

Get into metal. Sure there's some sad shit particularly in the DSBM and Doom forms of metal, but the vast majority of it is meant to be a very uplifting experience even if it can sometimes be melancholic.
I know what you need. what you need is Pulse Demon by Merzbow.
don't get into metal. just go find another girl. music and women have nothing to do with eachother. music can enhance your relationship but it won't help you get over a girl.
metal is ok in short spurts at best, I say fuck metal.
you need to get out and meet other women and realize it was never going to work. care about yourself. you're a man.
ITT: Post a horrible band and explain why it sucks
I think the Flaming Lips are wildly inconsistent and I think they only have one semi-good album. Wayne Coil is fucking shit and he can't produce worth shit.
The Flaming Lips used to be my absolute favourite band, lost count of how many times I've had Transmissions, The Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi on. But they've sucked balls since Embryonic and Coyne has disappeared up his own ass to the point where he spends his days sitting in a bath full of beans on his lawn with Miley Cyrus, vapid skank that she is.
Since Swans is a big topic with the new album coming, did the Gira/Grimm thing effect your opinion on the band?
New album is fucking incredible. Anyone pleased with Seer and TBK, and even those who wonder what the two would sound like in a blender, will be extremely pleased.
And Larkin folded like origami once Gira's wife came forward with her statement. She was full of shit.
>doesn't own a record player
wtf /mu/, tell me you don't do this
Just picked up these guys, don't ask how much I payed for TBK. That's like the only time I'm willing to shill out that much for a record. Triple LP though
Came in today signed by Dax Riggs. Too lazy to post my copy.
anyone have swans discography in a dropbox?
ITT: Artists who you're really, REALLY glad aren't popular anymore.
Music you've recently stumbled across and wondered about.
Is there any genre of music that you genuinely hate?
Not one that you disregard or just think is lame/pleb, but one that you can't stand to the point where you will take extreme measures to avoid even hearing it.
For me it's pop-country. I can even tolerate some top 40 pop music (Its always on the radio at work and I just tune it out) but I can say with full confidence that I hate country music.
most music that gets that plastic sheen pop production i can't stand, i can just place that arrangement from a mile away and the whole thing sounds horribly cringey. the genre itself stops mattering, it's literally just the production technique.
Hey guys, my girlfriend just called death grips trip hop and she's only listened to The Money Store. Would she be correct to call them Trip Hop or not?
I don't know since I don't listen to much trip hop.
What's the best pop-punk album that isn't made by either Blink-182, The Wonder Years, or Jawbreaker?
how to start listenin Peter Gabriel? which album? thnks
8/10 STAY MAD HATERS
No memes kids
Okay /mu/, let's pretend for one second you could get a girlfriend. If she asked you to show her that one song that best embodies how you feel about her, what would you play for her?
>I'm dirty Dan!
What is the worst genre of popular music? I've heard arguments for jungle, ska punk, metal, and hip hop.
To me this album is so cheesy, I don't know why it's their most acclaimed, their 80s stuff is much better imo.
Beach House has a different vibe, maybe on Bloom they're a bit similar but not on their other albums
>yo man you listen to yung lean or bones?
I'VE BEEN EATING WITH A GOOD FRIEND
