Hey /mu/. I have to go on a road trip tomorrow and need some albums to keep me company. I like electronic/techno type stuff. Pic related is one of my favorite albums (Andy Stott - We Stay Together), I like Andy's style in general too. Also open to ambient, I've only listened to Hecker and a bit of Basinski so far but I liked it, so anything similar in that style is cool too. Basically just give me recs with your favorite stuff that you think would sound good on a car ride.
Man, sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who really, really likes this album. It's groundbreaking stuff to me, like tectonic plates colliding and somehow making techno rhythms. I absolutely love the title track and how the sample just gets mercilessly looped over and over again. Definitely a masterpiece in hauntological music.
I USED TO RUUUUUUUUULE THE WORLD
what went wrong?
New Sissy Spacek releases. What do you think???
How do you feel about Death Grips, Chance the Rapper, and Kaytranada releasing albums tommorow
Is there another rapper out there who captures sadness, sorrows, woes, and negative emotions stemming from modern relationships like Drake?
songs that have made you cry
how do we fix this board?
Why does today's pop music have to be so degenerate?
Look, I understand that every era has its share of shit, but at least bad songs from decades ago still had actual musicianship and some lyrical depth to them.
Modern pop music doesn't even have that.
It's all designed to be as shocking, mindless, obnoxious and repulsive as possible.
What all of these pathetic excuses for musicians lack in talent, they make up for in a gaudy, bullshit image.
Every hit song now is about partying, drug abuse, screwing everyone in the club and ego-stroking over...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Is there any modern music that is actually any good? And is there anyone else here who refuses to listen to any new music because of how bad it's become? I feel like the only one... Everyone seems to listen to whatever garbage they put on the radio and call the next big hit.
help me please, does anyone know how to put the tremomo in that squier mustang????
Well nigga there are two possibilities.
A. That hole on the bottom of the bridge is the hole
Or the more likely option
B. You bought a whammy bar and your guitar doesn't have a hole for a whammy bar so you should kill yourself tonight because you are straight up retarded dude.
One of my all time favorites
ITT: Most recent concert experiences
I saw Josephine Foster play the other night. She gave an amazing performance but seemed kinda neurotic and interacted with the audience between songs in an extremely awkward way.
ITT: We decide on King Crimson's best album.
Give me a subject and I'll try to make it a fugue. It should be pretty short, of course.
I guess I'll go with the best one if there are multiple.
Sounds interesting, but please explain subject? Is it the English music term for theme (suggesting we should send in a theme) or subject as in "it should be about..."
Sorry, English isn't my native language
Hey /mu/. Rate my newly formed emo band
ITT: Do this with the albums in an artist's discography:
Here Comes the Indian
Merriweather Post Pavilion or Sung Tongs, depending on how you look at it.

one anon said he got tinnitus (permanent) from one show
they are really fucking loud, but also incredible live. have fun dude
my favorite albums of the year so far, opinions?
Do you people really listen to Death Grips unironically? Their music is tuneless garbage.
Name our band /mu/
For all you piano players, what was the hardest thing about learning?
I'm going to try and learn soon. Is it possible to learn entirely by muscle memory? I can't read notes in the slightest, and I was the kid who faked his way through two years of playing the xylophone.
Who's the better songwriter?
rec, rate, whatever
am i still eligible to be a recipient of these fine awards?

IT'S COMING TOMORROW
>When Stravinsky wrote “The Rite of Spring,” he was so consumed by its lustful, primordial power that he mailed nude photos of himself to friends.
