>tfw a great musician becomes happy and starts writing shitty music
>tfw someone asks you about music and you realise you don't actually know anything about it
I struggle to talk about anything I know about, even myself.
>so anon what about yourself
>uh, I went to school as a kid... and... I like video games....
I usually try to bail out of these personal conversations by being self-deprecating
>haha I don't know anything!
>I'm not interesting
Who's the better producer?
What's the greatest ambient album of all time?
Everyday I'm writing and working on music. Wondering how the fuck I get more people to come to shows, how to improve my sound new people to work with. I study music and sound and it kind of punches me in the gut every time I realise. You see thousands of lame youtube commenters asking you to check out their music, the daily sc threads on here and the millions of gigs and millions of bands happening a day in my country alone. I'm not saying I want to be famous but its crazy how many people are out there making music, how much effort people can put in for a relatively...

Step 1: Make amazing music that lots of people like
That's all there is to that, if you are good enough you will always be recognised as important to the people who's opinion you should care about.
ask yourself whether YOU would want to listen to your music. what do you look for in music, what makes you enjoy a piece, what's something that you would want to try? pick a country at random and explore their folk music, listen to a genre you swore never to listen to.
If you learn to love your music then you will at least have fun and satisfaction in making music, and that's the most important.
I know your feel, anon, I have it too, but don't give up!
Can anyone else recommend music related to Bonobo?
Also what does /mu/ think of Bonobo?

this is just my acid jazz folder, I'll snap a shot of similar too
I just moved to China. Looking for some Chinese bands to listen to. I like post-rock, ambient, and mathy instrumental type stuff, but I'll listen to anything you rec if you think it's worth giving it a listen. Also, I'm near Beijing, so good places/bands to see near there would also be appreciated.
>used to be a massive fan of Loveless
>my dad has a trendy friend who was really into the shoegaze and neo-psych scene in the 1990s
>turns me onto Lush, Cocteau Twins, Echo and the Bunnymen, Sway, The Veldt, Slowdive
>become true dream pop/shoegaze patrician
What are your stories /mu/?
My dad got me into MBV, Galaxie, Verve, Ride, etc. He's a big music fan and it's cool.
Anyways check out the best shoegaze album of the year (AOTY for me):
Also Whirr/Nothing split was okay, nothing interesting though
>Their best song is on their worst album
>artist has dozens of albums
>only one song on each album is decent
>artist has only one decent song
>every album has this same song, live versions of this song and some remixes thrown in
It's Yellow Magic Orchestra.
What does /mu/ think of the Voyager Golden Record?
>there are people on /mu/ right now begging in sharethreads because they don't know how to use Soulseek
Holy fuck. Making a new thread so newfags who haven't read the sticky can see this.
Old one has almost hit the bump limit.
Check the archive by searching for it at rbt.asia/mu/ and on Soulseek before making a request. You must also share an album yourself if you are requesting something.
If you're uploading something, it's courteous to include a Youtube sample and the file type + bitrate.
