The official Nine Inch Nails site just went into "Maintenance Mode"
What do /mu/ NIN fans want from the new album?
I don't want any politics. Year Zero was my least favorite NIN album and Manson's recent anti-Trump video was cringy as fuck.
Lets see who can come up with the most money spent in one room. Bonus points for elaborate setups that the artist's music dosn't even seem to use.
I'll start with the electronic "musician" Steve Aoki.
>Studio looks pretty sexy
>Pretty expensive looking acoustic treatments
>No modular or hardware synths in sight
>Shitty Nexus on the mainscreen
Grimes seems to have a pretty bad setup (except the EVH amp). She uses the absolutely terrible Roland Gaia as a main synth now too.
>there are people on /mu/ right at this very moment that don't play a single instrument
Any musical opinions you have are meaningless and you should leave
>there are people on /mu/ right now that give a shit about other peoples opinions
Why is mainstream hip hop given respect amongst the indie scene and on the internet (like /mu/ and pitchfork and other stuff); stuff like Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, ASAP, Lil Wayne; it's often heavily discussed and analyzed.
But mainstream rock is treated with complete disrespect and dismissal? stuff like Panicat the disco, MCR, etc. pitchfork doesnt even bother, most music publications think its a total joke
why the difference? is it just white guilt, or what?
dont read pitchfork, rolling stone, fantano, scarufi or any other big headed idiot or magazine, they make lists just to please their readers, work from riri was the 7th best song of the year according to pitch.
Now that i ve answered your question, tell me who that semen demon is
You know what this is, post all the funny /mu/ shit you got.
hey /mu/, post an album you like that never (or hardly ever) see posted here
let me see what you got
albums that sound like their covers
Starting off the thread with right answers
>As usual with Bowie, Blackstar (RCA, 2016), produced again by Tony Visconti,, is mostly image and very little about the music. The ten-minute Blackstar, that was supposed to be the centerpiece, is little more than a funereal litany a` la Doors with jazz horns that goes on five minutes too many. Bowie crooning melodramatic in Lazarus (from his Broadway musical about an alien who falls in love) or romantic in Dollar Days is either delirious and pathetic, certainly not entertaining. His tedious voice interferes with the driving jazz jam of 'Tis a Pity...

He's too harsh but not entirely wrong.
It isn't the godlike album to end all albums that many are saying (Pretty much just because he's dead, as always happens) but it also isn't amature work that anyone could have shat out either.
How do I get into Charli XCX?
Post a genre that you don't think is real and others prove you wrong.
What does RAP stand for again, mu?
WHERE'S YOUR GOD NOW
You have 10 seconds to name a better music publication than The Wire.
Why is classical music considered to be the best ever made, as if it can't be topped by any new music? Is it simply because it was made ages ago and people pretend it's the best out of respect for the musicians because they are long dead?
>Is it simply because it was made ages ago
yes. you figured it out. it's over.
I thought it was a pretty good video but i think the point is to look at pop songs but i never heard of some of these, maybe that is because im from europe and those are the north american charts but in my opinion he should have taken a closer look at the lyrics not just take 8 bars.
>implying this isn't the best album of the 90s
Prove me wrong
Professional tip: you cannot
Daily thread in honor of grimes and this amazing album
Currently really digging the the title track
Grime is no longer a meme, she is amazing producer and song writer
/mu/ can say what they want, Art Angels is an amazing album regardless of genre. Grimes is so talented that she could make a masterpiece even in an oversaturated and generally bland genre like pop. That takes guts and talent.
If you hate AA/Grimes, we will never be friends.
*smokes spliff and nods vigorously*
Leave Aoty to me

Are big rock bands dead forever?
When there is a big rock concert all of the bands are made of 60 yr olds.
say what you want but I love when p4k gets the savagery JUST right
>falling asleep / falling into a coma and dying while unconscious, not being aware of you ceasing to exist and going into the black void
>having a nice day at school but then you realize you have no pants on
post your top albums of 2016
unbelievably predictable, also pretty racist of you not to have some asians on your chart. It's 20 fricc in 16
This is the greatest album of 1991 for sure, and the best album of the 90s too while I am at it. It changed guitar music, and was so innovative it practically killed a genre. The sounds on this thing are just incredible, and Shields himself has said there are not many overdubs or guitar tracks layered over each other. He has also stated that there are not many effects on the guitar tracks. The fact that MBV were able to capture sounds like the ones found on this record are incredible. A common complaint is that the songs are too simple, or the vocals are terrible. Vocals are...
