6 years ago the bar was raised ridiculously high.
6 years ago the the world stopped for a moment in awe as we all listened to this masterpiece
6 years ago critics got on their knees and sucked this albums fucking dick.
6 years ago a modern masterpiece was released, an instant classic. Regardless of what you say or think, this is one for the books. An artpiece and a journey through the mind of one of the most creative and genius individuals of all time.
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
>listening to no wave music in study hall (I'm 18 and a senior in high school)
>teacher says music is too loud
>turn it down
>person next to me says "What were you listening to anyway, goth music or something?"
This album and Violator by Depeche Mode are two of my favorite albums of all time. I've kinda tried to find more like it that I would enjoy but haven't had too much success. Are these albums power pop? I'm listening to New Order now and it's ok... can someone recommend more stuff I might like? I'll post stuff I enjoy so that this isn't just a request thread.
Why don't British artists like the members of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, etc. sound like they've got British accents on their albums?
Can someone tell me where a good place to discover new music would be? I have looked through all the mucore charts over the past several years and mined all possible recommendations I could get there. I downloaded what.cd collages when that was still a thing, I spent a lot of time on rym just going through their ratings and their user lists, I looked through people's top listened to artists on last.fm and the recommended artists on last.fm, I looked at people's charts and took people's recommendations right here on /mu/, and from friends. I just don't know...

>Right now I think what would be best is if I found a nicely curated site that has a bunch of obscure, experimental music for me to get into.
Reading all of that makes me think you want to discover "real experimental 10/10" music because you wanna show off or something so fuck off and pick a genre you like most and work from there bitch
EPIN /mu/ humor thread
who are your favorite """"artists""" in this """genre"""?
"I"d slide into her "DM"s if you know what I mean.
I believe no one has topped autechre in my opinion. They are unmatched in terms of rhythmic complexity, unorthodox melodies, atmosphere. They are just always moving up, never letting themselves regres. True geniuses

Why on God's green earth do people like Beyoncé so much?
How do you think his post-conversion album will sound? What will he change his name to?
he named his fucking design company after his mom DONDA. and people keep turning it down to help him. Mark Zuckerberg sat at a dinner saying he'd help out, and didnt. imagine how that must feel, his fucking moms name turned down.
>The case turned into a “medical emergency” and was handed off from the LAPD to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the sources said.
That feel when black and police show up because you're going crazy but they dont shoot you because you have money and fans.
Is she, dare I say, /ourgirl/?

Kayo Dot-Choirs of the Eye
Lil Noid-Paranoid Funk
Not to be a dick, but it doesn't seem like you've been seriously listening to music for a long time. But idk.
Candlemass-Epicus Doomicus Metallicus
Thoughts on this band/album? I listened to it yesterday and wasn't that impressed
I'm listening to it. I don't know, the songs are alright, but there is no edge, it's like I'm listening to some ELO album. And this is coming from someone whose favorite album is Pet Sound.

the most overrated album of the decade
not even the most overrated album of the year
What headphones do you use?
What are the best headphones?
Come give recommendations or ask for recommendations.
I'm about to buy new headphones, and I've been recommended the Sennheiser Momentum by a friend- I don't have an amp. Any recommendations?
My price max is ~£250
Considering you're looking at getting portable closed backs, I recommend the Beoplay H6 2nd Generations, they're going on Amazon for £239, own a pair and they're pretty stunning quality and looks wise
Or there's the standard recommendation of the ATH-M50x

How is it even possible to hate this album?
Can we stop to appreciate some ape escape, also sharethread. If anyone can point me to similar kind of music also umm that would be great
Is Audioslave basically the Led Zeppelin of the 2000s?
Did anyone else go to Pharos?
I think the album is KILLER and I'm very anxious to hear the studio version come December.
What are everyone's thoughts on the last two songs he has released?
I agree! I had always been a fan of his but I acknowledge that stuff hes done in the past musically could be considered immature and unfocused. I think this album and Atlanta are he turning points for him.
Is there a musician that is edgier than Boyd Rice?
Pretty solid 7/10.
There's very little variation between songs, but the overall sound is good so there isn't much to complain about.
Nikolai Myaskovsky's 4th Symphony (not a separated album but it counts)
I think 7/10 is a fair rate maybe
I had really high expectations for this guy but I can't feel that punch that later soviet music has... I'll give it some more listens later... but this dude composed 27 symphonies, at least one of them might catch my attention more
