>Every Asian I know, knows I hate Asians
what he meant by that?
Hey /mu/, I'm looking for a very particular type of music. The best I can describe it is that it has an overall very dark feel that's very far away from "normal" music; it's often quite industrial, with a lot of sounds of unknown provenance (as in acousmatic sound art), and very cryptic and esoteric lyrics (if there are any). The main artists I can think of like this are Arca, Gazelle Twin, and Scott Walker in his later years, as well as Holly Herndon although I don't listen to her. Does /mu/ know of any others?
Jesus fucking Christ this sounds like ass. What were they thinking putting out a bunch of unfinished studio fuckups from a drug-fried schizo?
Do people worship Barrett so much that they'll even defend this piece of shit? I mean, I guess the more finished songs like "Octopus" and "Here I Go" are ok, but I will slash my wrists if I have to hear "If It's in You" again.
literally better than anything Reddit Waters Floyd ever did
eat shit, prog fag
What do you think of New Wave music? Is it even a real genre, or just a catchall term for music that sounded "different" in the early 80s?
I feel like there's a pretty specific style of New Wave that consists of Talking Heads and Talking Heads-esque bands, like early Devo or XTC on Drums and Wires. Stop start rhythms and the specific vocal style.
It's hard to pin down because it's so wide.
Most new wave groups come from glam/punk/pop/disco and there's varying amounts of each in the mix. The one thing I can think of that ties them together is a sense of 'nervousness' I guess, but even that doesn't apply to a lot of groups, like Blondie. A lot of them owe a debt to punk, especially if you look at how many got a big boost from playing at CBGB.
But yeah, I definitely wouldn't say put Devo and Duran Duran together.
is he the greatest artist of the century so far?
Ultralight Beam and maybe No More Parties in LA

Iron Maiden. Live after Death. It fills both of your categories.
You will thank me later.
whats MU's opinion?
So why exactly did she upload a video of herself taking a shit while lip syncing Mariah Carey?
Is the Alzheimers slowly catching up to her?
Will her next album be themed around scat porn?
Why Did she go from Froot to Poop?
Is she struggling with relevancy and tried to do something "wild"?
So what else is there then?
Saddest Radiohead song?
