Can someone explain why Reddit's music sub is so godawful? I mean don't get me wrong, I still hate /mu/ most of the time but at least I've actually been able to discover some interesting music through it.
Why is reddit's music board an utter and complete slice of shit?
I don't have an issue with Reddit other than the layout, I'm just so used to chan boards now.
There is much more variety on offer there.
"""democratic""" pedestrianism tempered by a posting culture that crushes any actual dissident opinions
meanwhile there is no visible hierarchy on anonymous imageboards so if someone wants to tell you your favorite band is shit, there's no stopping them -- the tradeoff here being it becomes just as likely to have those anons that give you your next favorite band be just as visible as the former type of posts because there is no actual weighting system
very much this.
also, there are a few niche, genre-based subreddits I visit sometimes, but it's mostly just people shilling their own soundcloud shit.
/r/vintageobscura is good
/r/truemusic is alright
Other than Pink Floyd, what other bands have kicked out their leader or had their leader leave, and still carried on making good music, or even got more successful?
Is this shoegaze?
Is it normal to outgrow metal between ages of 18-21?
I still love a very select few to pieces but most everything new I hear in old and new genres is just boring to me.
Pic related is one of the best metal records to me and THE coolest album cover in the world. The UN in the background, That's prolly just the /k/ in me though.
If you listen to early Sabbath/Blue Cheer and bands influenced by them, you probably won't outgrow the genre.
If you listen to later Sabbath, Maiden, the big 4 and the bands that they've influenced you'll probably outgrow it
What you CAN outgrow is the illusion that you liked metal in the first place, as you find out that people don't think it's cool.
But if you liked metal you won't outgrow it. You'll just branch out into other genres and keep enjoying metal, and your tastes in metal itself will evolve.
>old and new genres
Have you honestly given glam metal, gothic metal, groove metal and nu-metal a try?
How about smaller...

Who is the James Cameron of music?
Post best album of a band/artist and best track of said album.
Best track: You Don't Know What Love Is
What is /mu/'s opinion on Limp Bizkit? Are they approved here? Their albums are fucking solid if you ask me and pic related is severely underrated.
My Generation sample
Brave, OP. I'm afraid Limp Bizkit is lumped in with the whole 'nu-metal' thing, the memest of meme genres - so, not actually bad, just difficult to take seriously. 'My Way or the Highway' was my jam when I was 14 or so, and I actually still listen to it once in a blue moon.
My last encounter with Limp Bizkit was when someone posted the Gold Cobra video in the /metal/ general. I had a slightly cringy chuckle, particularly at how there are two kick drums in the kit, even though the beat is basic AF.
out of the way, best female artist of the 2010's passing by
I AM SO SICK OF SEEING THIS GOD DAMN PICTURE. EVERY FUCKING DAY. I'M SO SICK OF SEEING THOSE FUCKING NASTY ASS DISPROPORTIONATELY SKINNY AND SKELETAL ARMS. THOSE WRINKLES AND TENDONS, THAT PROTRUDING ADAM'S APPLE, THAT HORRENDOUSLY UGLY TOP SQUASHING HER TITS INTO THE MOST UNNATURAL SHAPE. everything about this picture is disgusting and infuriating, yet it gets posted by waifufags every fucking day
I want to get into these guys but I have no idea where to start. What are the essential GD albums?
What does /mu/ think about Beck?
if you don't like this album you're probably either black or gay
>itt: we clear up what the fuck thom is singing
here i'm allowed everything all of the time
here i'm alive, everything all of the time
[women and children] first and the children
first of the children
I think it's the first one of both your examples.
I'm allowed everything all of the time
Women and children first and the children first...
That way those lyrics actually are complete phrases. Granted, that's not a requirement for a Radiohead song.
I remember reading that he cut up a bunch of lyric lines and threw them in a hat to combine them at random for ideas.
hey in idioteque specifically, some of the vocals later in the track you can hear are loops chopped up by nigel of other lyrics in the song, kinda like in the beginning of everything in its right place, or the guitars in morning bell.
>tfw spent all day tweaking foobar setup instead of listening to music
>foobar setup still looks and works like shit
You don't really need anything fancy, senpai
>start exploring record labels instead of droning reviewcore
>discover whole world of different amazing music
why do you limit yourself to what p4k, scaruffi and fantano review?
>talks about spiritually, the importance of love and family on some tracks
>"WHAT IF WE FUCK RIGHT NOW? WOULD WE BE THE LIFE OF THIS WHOLE PARTY?"
>"I had my cousin stole my laptop i was fucking bitches on"
>"I MADE THAT BITCH FAMOUS"
He's an imperfect human, he puts both his positive morals and negative vices on full display.
Sorry that your puny brain can only comprehend artists that beat you over the head with one message every song
How would you save Nick Drake from killing himself?
By offering him financial and emotional support and by attempting to popularize his music. That's how I'd do it if I believed in changing past events in the logically impossible circumstance that time travel cold ever exist, which I don't, so I wouldn't.
got any sad songs i can be depressed and drunk to
Name me 1 (one) ((uno)) good band from Ohio
Protip: you can't.
Is music keeping you away from suicide?
I don't think it's keeping me away, as much as it's distracting me suicide and keeping me occupied with life.
This as well, although recently I'm starting to feel like more and more of a burden to them.
What's your current favorite album?
ITT: Vaporwave Albums
>He has a lyrics panel in his Foobar2000 setup
ITT: albums that can only be appreciated by people who live in suburban American.
I bet your basis for this claim is the architecture of the house, yeah we get it, nostalgic summery vibe. actually that is subliminal to you, you will say its the feel of the album, but it is the real reason you think this. judging by the architecture it could be a turn-of-the-century bungalow given the siding and shape, which would most likely place the house in an older district in a large town, usually close to the epicenter of the city(downtown) because obviously, sprawl was not a factor back then and you...
