This thread rejects the rape culture hysteria of Amber Coffman, Jessica Hopper, Ke$ha, Larkin Grimm, Meagan Garvey, Pitchfork, et al.
FREDDIE GIBBS INNOCENT
left or right, /mu/?
It's the battle for AOTY supremacy.
Who has it right? Pitchfork/Fantano cultural pollutants who haven't known an original thought in their life or the music-as-fashion wankers who go dumpster diving on RYM and bandcamp so they can appear intellectual to people whose validation they claim to not be interested in?
Who is more insufferable? Who is more pretentious? Who cares?
This is kinda cheesy
You mean, it was so good people copied it endlessly and became chessy? because that's the correct statement.
>tfw they will never be in their prime again
Dropping diss track
>the outro on Pretty Girls Make Graves
>the guitar solo in Frankly Mr. Shankly
can we have a comfy björk thread? post your favorite songs, rank her albums, talk björk
listening to a lot of the sugarcubes lately, walkabout is such an underrated song
you know i was listening to biophilia the other day
Is insane every song ends in a jumble of melody, it's exactly my type of pop. Vulnicura was good because Arca went insane with the production and everything was crisp, it felt like a modern orchestra, but biophilia is like this chaotic mess, really reminds me of my thought process when adrenaline pumps and mixes with my adhd. normally adrenaline helps you focus, but if I deliberately try to make my mind race during this time it's like the drumming at the end of Crystalline. I will never do drugs and listen...

curious for peoples opinion on this. I personally loved it but I'm curious what /mu/ thinks
Will I like this even if I don't believe in god? Is the religious aspect super heavy handed or is it ironic?
Doesn't it make his songs sound more sinister when you know he's singing about an ideology that has killed over a billion people?
Holy shit, he essentially obliterated Death Grips with this, will they ever be able to top this?
New Cudi. What do you think? I like it.
Is it even possible to write lyrics before instrumentation?
Post 2 albums with similar covers and others say which one is better.
Happy birthday Mike Love!
so, what was mike loves greatest achievement guys?
All of Eminem's post-2003 albums have scores below 3/5 on Rateyourmusic.
When is he going to get off his ass and put out another great album?
I fell for the meme spamming and listened to pic related. I expected autotuned trap garbage like Kanye, cringy swearing like Kendrick Lamar or plain edginess like Death Grips. I was pleasantly surprised, the guy has a nice voice and his beats are musically interesting.
What are some other hip-hop albums that I might have slept on?
Is it autism?
Why is everyone so excited and in anticipation of a new Tool album when it's been a longer period of time since the last System of a Down album?
Life in a Glasshouse
Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box
Dollars and Cents
Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors
The second (Something)
I Am Bored
ill be your mirror
run run run, probably
black angels death song
waiting for the man
nice ratings, would agree almost completely actually
this is a good album
It really is
Post-hardcore masterpiece, if their gimmick were just nonsensical sci fi lyrics with no goddamn comics they'd be the goat, shame about their later albums
BUT SHE'S TOUCHING HIS CHEST NOW
I'm interested in dada.
I'm interested in dadaist music.
Do you think postmodernism has rendered "dada" moot in contemporary contexts? If not, what are some of your favorite examples of dadaist music? Historical favorites?
this is so goddamn comforting. Like an orb protecting you from any fuck up you may commit
This album dumbfounds me every listen. Each track is so different from each other, and all of them are unlike anything else I've heard out of music. Never a dull moment or unncessary part. There is so much attention to detail, and polish, and let me fucking gush.
modern hip-hop classics

this is better than an atrocity exhibition
it manages to be innovative while also carrying a narrative with it. combining slavery with scifi is a really unique idea for a story, and it's executed extremely well.
atrocity exhibition is really good too though don't get me wrong.
>Radiohead - ""Ill Wind" 320 KBPS A Moon Shaped Pool Bonus Track
This is the kind of music Kanye West wishes he could make, but he has zero talent whatsoever.
What kind of music do your parents like? Do they reflect what you like?
>typical dad rock like Pink Floyd
>Based Bruce Springsteen
>The Bee Gees
>Any super soft rock
My parents are actually pretty patrish
>Beatles, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Tom Waits, Built to Spill (because of me)
>Also his fair share of regrettable butt-rock
>Talking Heads, David Bowie, Dead Can Dance, The Knife/Fever Ray (because of me), Portishead, LCD Soundsystem (because of me), Sufjan Stevens, some 90's alt-rock like Morphine, Cake, and Soul Coughing
>Also some lame radio pop like Counting Crows and Snow Patrol
And yeah all this stuff is reflected to some degree in my own taste. I grew up around this music and I never went through an edgy phase that would have me reject it.
