We haven't had a Maya thread for a while.
What's your favorite album of hers? Are you looking forward to her new record? Liked what you heard so far?
>What's your favorite album of hers?

Very much so, yes.
>Liked what you heard so far?
Swords was pretty vintage M.I.A. Borders I was less keen on, but the music video has made me come around to it. Wanna hear those Skrillex and Blaqstarr songs.
Any albums similar to the 60's psych revival like Tame Impala and Unknown Mortal Orchestra but super lofi? Think that would be a pretty cool sound
>it's a song about a superhero named tony
>this artist created a fictional character that has since been referenced in many other artist's lyrics.
what do you think of mr. bungle
if we try hard enough, can we bring lou reed back to life? we can do this /mu/
Right, been listening to a lot of dean blunt and his associated projects recently.
I'm not sure what any of this shit means. Is it all a joke? Is it meant to be purposively regressive to show how easy it is to make the sort of music they do (like black metal is an exercise in making white indie jangle pop)? Is it a commentary on race? Not even sure what the fuck 'Black is Beautiful' is meant to be.
Maybe there is no point, and that's the point.
am I approaching it from the wrong angle by trying to get meaning from it? Is it just an elaborate piss take?
I just don't know anymore. I've listened to the redeemer 4 times this week and I still don't understand.
Don't get me wrong, I think this album's really good. But why do people insist that it's so "out there"? There's literally nothing on this album that's going to be "OMG experimental" to anyone who's listened to The Flaming Lips.
I can deal with noisy music if I'm enjoying it, but this just doesn't sit right on my ears. It actually feels more painful to listen to than enjoyable. And I really want to like it too because it has an awesome name.
Then again when I first listened to The Downward Spiral I thought it was just noisy garbage and now it's one of my favorite albums. Maybe it'll click one day, who knows. But for now Animal Collective isn't on my radar.
What does /mu/ think about Arctic Monkeys?
lets have a thread
lets have a 4x4 thread
lets have a thread
making collages of the albums
the albums that we know and love
but it's not enough
we've got to show them off
Who has the most obscure taste?

how do i fix the tags in foobar so that i have pretty pictures
where's my applesauce

weyes bluhd - strange chalices of seeing
i know how to change the metadata, that's fundamental
what i'm not certain about is what exactly in the metadata is causing some album art to not show up, or if it's my fault at all even
Just marathoned the first two songs. Is the whole album like this?
ITT : Post an album you think only you have listened to.

What headphones does /mu/ use?
Do you agree with Slash, /mu/?
Slash never said that. And no, I don't agree. This is a very shallow observation, and assumes the only thing of value in music is "my meaning" and "my lyrics" instead of melodies and musicality. Which I will gladly concede One Direction doesn't really have, but it's not so much about them as it is just being a bad argument.
Best album of ALL TIMES.
