Weekend plans guys?
Normally stayin in listening to tunes but this one it's a good'n
Tonight: pub then back to mine for a smoke with mates
Tomorrow: Dense & Pika, s'gunna be a long night
more like these?
out there dnb
not just halftime stuff, that's not necessarily out there by definition these days
see samurai music (esp horo series) and exit music. basically you're looking for 'autonomic sound.' instra:mental's discog should interest you.
side note: fis just got lumped into dnb cause he released on samurai at weird half-timey dnb'ish tempos. but neither fis nor presha would call what he makes 'dnb'
i've been rinsing samurai horo recently check out their scope compilation its amazing
also check this out 12" of the year so far
The Stray and Alix Perez EPs on Exit are really good, some nice D&&B/Juke on them. Fracture's EP on Exit is also good but slightly more traditional D&B. Enei's 12" on Critical and more or less all of the 12"s coming out on Metalheadz under META are quite experimental compared to regular D&B.
I've tried to listen to Scope twice now and I just can't get into it, far too slow for my liking. I appreciate it for what it is though.
Genotype's LP from last year was probably my favourite Samurai Music release.
quite disliked that stuff honestly. 2pretty4me i think.
i'll take his stuff under akkord most days.
even there though it can sound a bit too polished-approaching-sterile.
just my irrational preferences tho.
which funny cunt did this then
>tfw when you write a tune and it ends up sounding like a house remix of something from an 80s eddie murphy film
what do you guys think?
What's the next best ambient dnb/jungle album after Timeless?
>What even is electroclash?
Justice, Sebastian, Danger
>Is it stuff like LCD Soundsystem?
no and neither of these things are really /bleep/
maybe a few early LCD tracks
if you want some good shit similar to LCD's beats, check out Factory Floor
I'm sharing some classic VGM. From the sega genesis game, Columns.
>Justice, Sebastian, Danger
nope. try electro-house maybe.
Electroclash is more along the lines of Peaches, Miss Kitten, I-F or Tiga's older stuff. Just imagine gritty electro as if played by a band, often with sexualized lyrics. the sound is usually minimalistic (compared to the likes of Justice), as actual electro would be
