Who's been digging Workshop 20?
There's almost no point of me asking this but whatever.
Found this mixtape (DJ Mondie - Straight Up Vol. 1 Hosted by Shizzle) on soulseek but it's missing tracks 2 and 4, any chance anyone has got them? Shit's so rare not even RYM has got a track list for it.
so who here is down with Intergalactic FM?
If you are a devotee of /bleep/, then you really need to spend some time checking IFM out. It is basically 6 channels of pure /bleep/, run out of the Netherlands by Rude 66 and DJ I-F. It is the successor to the legendary CBS (Cybernetic Broadcast System).
The stations are formatted with each one representing a distinct style/flavor of /bleep/.
MURDERCAPITAL FM is mostly Detroit/Detroit Influenced Techno, Classic Chicago House, Acid House, Acid Techno, Electro, Electro-Funk, Nu Electro, Bunker/Creme Records type stuff, and then every Monday, Murdercapital becomes "Black Monday," a 24 hour showcase of Underground Synth and Wave classics: Minimal Wave/Minimal Synth, Coldwave, New Wave, New Romantic, Early Industrial and newer stuff that is inspired by that sound (Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, Nitzer Ebb, DAF, etc.), Wax Trax, Nettwerk and TVT style Industrial Dance (Ministry, Skinny Puppy, NIN, Thrill Kill Kult, Front Line Assembly), Early Goth, Post-Punk (i.e. Wire, Chrome, Tuxedomoon), Synth-Pop (i.e. Depeche Mode). You get the point. Black Monday lasts all day Monday and then throughout the week they have "Black Blocs," hour+ long blocks of the above mentioned styles.
so channel 2, INTERGALACTIC CLASSIX, focuses more on the Disco and Funk side of things. Disco (the real shit, no Bee Gees bullshit), Italo and Space Disco, Funk, Electro-Funk, Boogie, and frequent blocks of Old-School Hip-Hop/Rap (usually pre-1987/88 stuff, but sometimes up into the second wave of the late 80's sample-based Hip-Hop - the emphasis is usually on the analog synthesizer based stuff).
Radio Galaxia is very diverse, lots of Detroit Techno, Minimal Techno, House, lots of DJ sets, but pretty much Dance-Music oriented
The Dream Machine is the shizzle. This station is more on the Ambient side of things. Lots of Synth-based Soundtracks (i.e. John Carpenter), Library Music, Ambient, Drone, Noise, Dark Ambient, Avant Garde, Musique Concrete, etc.
The Garden is totally free-form, everything from Frank Sinatra to Brian Eno, Derrick May to Cluster.
Radio-Free Robotron is mostly reserved for DJ sets, so its impossible to classify. Each set is totally different.
Highly recommended. It is hands down GOAT radio station as far as /bleep/ is concerned, 24/7/365. If you are a true /bleep/ head, there is no way you will not fall in love.
Oh, yeah, IFM has a free APP for iOS and ANDROID. Plays all 6 stations with complete tracklisting for each tune. Just search for "Intergalactic FM" in iTunes and the Google Marketplace.
>tmw /bangers/ is better quality than /bleep/
for realz. He is the man. his musical taste is impeccable, as is evident by the music on IFM. They play exactly what I love, and I literally NEVER hear anything played that I don't like. No cheesy, overproduced commercial EDM, EVER. You won't ever hear the Swedish House Mafia on IFM!
If you are into /bleep/, you have just found your home.
I just promote it for the love. It's a goldmine, a treasure that needs to be shared. It's literally like my brain-fuel that keeps me going thru each day, thanks to the Droid app. I cannot stress the quality of jams that you hear. The rarest, most amazing tunes, on after another. Shit you will not hear anywhere else.
Scarface Records Classic Beats And Breaks CD (Vol. 1) and Vinyl (Vol. 2). Literally, the best breakbeat comps I've ever heard/owned. No FX, just dry breaks. Very hard to find these days, it seems, even for DL.
>Hudson Mohawke - Chimes coming out in september
Why is it taking so long to release tunes for these guys, I don't get it.
for no other reason than to drum up anticipation / hype
or that hudmo has so much money now he's just spending his days shoe shopping rather than writing music
I'd love to be able to talk to /bleep/bros outside of the (rare) peak hours of these threads.
I launched #/bleep/ on irc.rizon.net, but so far I've always been alone.
*lights cigarette for u*
*our eyes meet and i look away bc im so shy*
l'ingénu y...you're such a faggot i just can't..
*kisses you passionately whilst givin ur mancunt the ol in out*
go play dark souls 2 you phantasmagorical chav.
ITT we Techno.
And some different things
I did, because I liked some other EP they released before. The A Side is pure poo, but the B side is fine.
I think you overate a bit 50 Weapons, it's a good label, but lots of their stuff go from average to bad.
(hourlyreminder: #/bleep/ on irc.rizon.net)
and you pinged-out. Well, I guess I'll just ghost alone on this irc channel. FOR EVER.
Yeah, I like Bambounou, Phon.o and those Shed releases. But Modeselektor and Moderat suck now.
Can I get recs/shares based on a short list of stuff I like? I'm into L-Vis 1990, Nhk'koyxen, Objekt, Lowtec, Shifted, SHXCXCHCXSH, Rrose, Midland, Jam City, Shadows, Lakker, Karenn, and all the Club Constructions stuff. Mostly looking for techno stuff like Hard Drive by L-Vis 1990, 101 by Nhk'koyxen, Drifting Over by Shifted, etc. Thanks.
>I think you overate a bit 50 Weapons
i'm aware it's not really a label of purists, i don't mind the fact they try to sign stuff from various genres.
this particular EP just feels like a really cheaply put together bangers
is the 90s a lad decade now? is all house for lads? is 50weapons a label for lads? is shed lad by association? is wiley a lad? does lad techno exist? is livity sound for lads? is breakbeat hardcore revival for lads? how can i be into the hip thing before everyone else is?
Are you Joe from Hessle Audio ? I'm asking because Ben UFO has been known to post here and Objekt also came here to confirm that Cactus is indeed brostep and should not be enjoyed unironically.
#/bleep/ is growing strong. Come if you want to share the latest blemes and discuss serious non-lad techno, IN REAL TIME.
"Another week, another eletronic-anoying-music-that-only-britsh-weirdos-like compilation!"
This is a quite accurate picture of some people here.
with the /banger/ schism, innovation and forward-thinking is becoming inevitable. Repent yourself, the End is nigh!
it's funny because some faggot brought up Justin Bieber in the comments as some example of shitty music but i listened to his album journals and it was actually good lol. insanely better than some wack ass producers trying to launch revivals of shitty, deservedly dead genres in order to stay relevant, like jamie xx for example
I'm joking, imo "ladhouse" is really good. For exmaple julio bashmore's tracks "au seve" and "battle for middle you" are undoubtedly classics and will be enjoyed for generations to com
/bleep/ tutorial to connect to the IRCs.
1. download hexchat: https://hexchat.github.io/
2. install hexchat
3. launch hexchat
4. find Rizon in the IRC Server list.
5. don't forget to change you names and stuff.
6. When connected, type /join #/bleep/
i guess that's fine too. I find it better to have a dedicated IRC client, since I don't only chat on #/bleep/.
Did you try to connect on other IRC servers? Post screens if you need more help.
A splinter community for a general this active?
And a IRC chan will not replace this thread, but it offers a nice continuity for those who wish for it and another way to share your favorite new fake vinyl crackle lo-fi blemes.
Everytime i come across a complicated word in a chemistry book or some shit i think "damn that would be a cool techno track title". It's essential for techno producers to have large vocabularies imo so that they can give their tracks cool titles like "optical fingerprint correlation"
they're useful in that they serve a purpose: making it easy to get all that regis shit in one place but honestly, listening to any of them in a stretch as 'albums' is not for me.
probably go for >>48471637 if pressed tho.
I listened to Burial on that new Hyperdub comp earlier today.
On the whole it was really unimpressive, Hyperdub are at their best when they are doing UKG/Grime (and Juke) and none of this 3experiemtal5you shit.
hdb's pretty hit n miss in whatever department they're putting out tunes in these days. for the life of me i'll never figure out why cooly g gets to be on there.
that said, laurel halo's quarantine was great for a bit of 3experimental5u wankery (the new one was overhyped shit though).
>Hyperdub are at their best when they are doing UKG/Grime (and Juke) and none of this 3experiemtal5you shit.
couldn't be more backward
>laurel halo's quarantine was great for a bit of 3experimental5u wankery (the new one was overhyped shit though).
King Midas Sound
>mvq there's a seapunk feature on RA rn
yh amazing. the B1 is what does it for me
think everyone pretty much agrees hes great. his sound design is pretty much second to none when it comes to sheer robotic, technical precision
you're forgetting that SKENG was relesed on hyperdub, therefore god tier must by default include the bug
come on man nothing tops the original
hmm... out of all nights, i'd say fabric is probably one of the more weird ones to go to alone. it's very ravey in there, not much chinstroking even at the chinstroke nights. you'd probably stand out like a sore thumb a bit.
unless you're one of those geezers who just gets really wired and chills in the smoking area with strangers all night, because i can rate that
>unless you're one of those geezers who just gets really wired and chills in the smoking area with strangers all night, because i can rate that
but then why the fuck would you pay the £20+ to get in there in the first place?
lol only those said geezers know the answer to that question. i see it all the time. i think people get wired by themselves with the intention of dancing but get too content with the chilling outside
have you never been wired with your mates and went for a cig break which ended up stretching into a 50 minute love marathon
>have you never been wired with your mates and went for a cig break which ended up stretching into a 50 minute love marathon
yeah only at fabric, because I knew I could go back in and there'd still be another 6 hours left
if you go in without intent to listen to the music I dunno not just go to a shit cheap club
this is me most of the time, but theres some nights which have amazing music where i dunno what it is but i just end up preferring chilling over dancing. not that i intend for this to happen though
What's the closest thing to braindance/IDM these days? That genre is pretty much dead.
(Please don't sperg out over the name of the genre. You're better that that, /bleep/)
noice, it's has been and will continue to be a glorious summer for /bleep/ releases
counting down the days until someone rips that new Rezzett
what does /bleep/ think of the new sbtrkt? ezra koenig was a bit off putting at first but i actually got into it once i got used to it. it's got a bit of a surreal kind of feel to it. i can see what he means about it being a funny tune. really nice production too.
Was the SND Tplay 1:5 reissue vinyl only?
As in, did it not come with any digital files?
It doesn't look that way and it's kind of a shame, woudl've sounded nicer if it was cleaner than this vinyl rip tbh
have they completely switched around the track listing for the original Tplay too?
the first track is now the last and they all follow such a minimal similar beat, it's hard to tell which ones are the new bonus tracks and which ones are just out of order.
Finally did a mix for the first time in months. Sucks I don't have a controller to work with but I did what I could with my shitty laptop.
Love it, hate it, whatever. Much love, bleepers.
here u go lol
he was into punk
/bleep/ threads are above the usual /mu/ tribalist bullshit. We've had great discussions in the past about garage and dubstep, so fuck off.
Does anyone know a good chart for bleep bloops? I've listened to most the more popular stuff and want to get a few esoteric choices without having to sort through a bunch of crap.
So /bleep/ I'll be heading to Berlin soon for a couple days. You guys seem like you'd be knowledgeable as to what record stores are good there. I'm assuming hardwax is a must but what other places in Berlin are good to buy bleep bloops?
hah i used to be 732 until i graduated
now i'm back in 856
trying to get a job and move to either philly or the NYC area (preferably NYC area though cuz i'm not really familiar with any kind of bleep scene in philly)
so lonely being in the suburbs
#/bleep/ on irc.rizon.net for those who wish to share their latest epic cassette techno tracks in real-time.
Anyone tuned in?
Great line up tonight
please vote this up
and this down
someone should probably start a new thred.
that new lawrence english album is quite nice. not as nice as sum of his other records, but really, really good still. it's not dance bleeps tho - but where else am i going to talk about it.
