Any feedback is appreciated. Facebook likes are also appreciated.

Im back
I made this album in 3 days. It's really loud
I just play on Audacity. I don't make music worth sharing.
This is some good shit right here. I'm loving the opener.
Fucking good. I hear a little bit of Have A Nice Life in there. I like it.
Man, I'm sure some of it is at least decent.
I don't know anything about music theory or even good taste. I just mash-up and sample everything.
This is sick.
I saw on your FB that you were going to do a softer EP and a metal EP, I'm definitely excite to see how that'll work out for you. Keepit up!

Hey guys, I have two tracks from an upcoming EP I'd appreciate if you'd listen to, one of them I don't think has been shared yet

>experimental folk, noise folk, sorta emoish, i don't know please help me think of a genre

Also, I have this idea to press this upcoming EP on 7" records, would anyone here buy that if it ended up happening?
Definitely reccing this
Loving Public Access. I'd pick up a 7"

>atmospheric/minimalist folk, psych folk

Thanks a ton for listening and downloading
Also, if anyone happens to download and listens while using last.fm, could you tell me if the songs are scrobbling or not? I think there's something wrong with it. Thanks again.
Thanks! And that's awesome. If pressing it would be too expensive, would you consider buying a cassette?
Thanks for the kind words!
Did any bands inspire your style?
No worries, btw do you like being called "oceangrunge" or would you prefer we didn't?

>lo-fi, shoegaze, garage rock, pop-punk, hints of blackgaze and post-rock
I like the aesthetic of the sea and loneliness that seems to go with oceangrunge, as well as the whole "atmospheric and noisy" facet, so I guess. I just don't want for people to think that I'm one of the "ironic" vaporwave guys, because I actually take my music pretty seriously and don't want to be seen as a trend-based project like them.

So to answer your question i don't really care. I've gotten a lot of listeners from the oceangrunge subreddit, so I can't complain. People looking for oceangrunge might be scared off when i release my next two EPs, because they have a pretty different vibe than this one.

reccing this

A couple more favorites of mine:

>Chillwave, great production

>Nujabes style beats, eastern influence, groovy as hell
I'm agreeing with the consensus that this is some goat tier post-genre music, but the production lacks high end. It sounds like there's a lp filter on it, which makes it sound a little flat. Consider addin some high end to it

>Tweens and Feline Feelings are decent tracks

I was thinking of trying to play some live shows, tried to figure out how'd I would do that, got frustrated, and gave up.
Yeah. For whatever reason it sounded nice and sharp when I was working with it in Audacity, but on BC and iTunes it sounds muddy.
I've tried mixing the treble a bit higher but it ends up sounding crowded and loud.

Once I finish my next EPs I'll most likely just re-record it from scratch. There are a lot of little things that bug me abut it.
I know there's a lot of good vaporwave, but you have to wade through a ton of image-based half-assed ones to get to it.
For every Vektroid, there are hundreds of Windows 98/Fiji water/statue/Japanese text ones that you can tell took half an hour to throw together.
That's part of the appeal. It's a genre that everyone can at least attempt, even if they suck. You don't have to be good; you just have to do it.

It's like punk that way.
you did all that shit on audacity? That's really impressive. Although, sometimes I wonder if daws stifle creativity.

so are the drums recorded or midi? drum machine? really curious

Also did you record with a mic or straight into an audio interface?

Last question: Are the ambient noises physical synthesizers, or did you just put effects on guitar recordings? I'm assuming audacity doesn't have any synthesizer plugins, although I hear it has midi functionality these days. not really sure.
>psychedelic, electronic, experimental

Also check out a brand new track off of my upcoming full length. Let me know what you guys think: https://soundcloud.com/maantis/waking-up-is-harder-without-you
Some of the more abstract songs are rooted in some of Animal Collective's acoustic-era stuff if you couldn't tell. I'm also a big Nick Drake fan
The drums are the free Hydrogen drum machine software. I ran them through a guitar amp then recorded that, to give them a kind of industrial vibe. After that I put reverb on the through-the-amp recording of the drum track.
I used a Shure SM57 and Blue Icicle interface for the actual recording.
As for the ambience, it's just volume swells and string scratches that I put obscene amounts of reverb on to turn them into atmospheric sounds.

So the only real instrument involved is a guitar.

A birthday song .

alright thanks

all in all it's a little amatuer and unrefined, but I truly think you have the start of something really cool, and it's even more impressive that you were able to do all that with such humble soft/hardware

keep it up mane
Thanks mane.
I've experimented with new recording techniques by making black metal songs, and I've found some neat tricks that I'm going to use for my future stuff. I certainly want to get away from the muddy sound that this one kind of had, that's been the #1 complaint so far.
DIY ethos is good; DIY production, not so much.
Pretty trap the beauty so strong and hard.
This is my homie's song off his new mixtape, its hard.

im autistic
yep, but if steve panini can do it, so can we
That was actually posted by me, not Brock or Matt. But they are very cool and I think they did do some sort of split with them.

Maybe you talentless hacks could try NOT smoking weed and then see what you can create
Maybe you could try NOT being an insecure piece of shit and actually be constructive in your criticism of peoples' music,

Alright, how's this

It's the same bandwagon shoegaze I hear every fucking day on /mu/, there's nothing new about it and you aren't being poignant with your execution
Thank you anon :)
I'd just like to know how that relates to the consumption of cannabis during the writing and recording process.

Because you make music that stoners and most of /mu/ keep making and it's getting really fucking old. It's not a new idea and it's wearing out its welcome.
Why are you so angry about it?

I'm more annoyed than anything else

It's simple to make and requires no actual musical ability
But enough about rap!
Have you ever tried making it?

It's just a lot of reverb
That doesn't answer my question, and is also incorrect.

So why are you deliberately making bad music? Is it the idea that you're misunderstood and some people "just don't get it, maaaaan"?
I'm making music that I enjoy making in a style I enjoy listening to. What's wrong with that?
