yo son wheres ma vaporwave thread at. post em bitches
Nobody listens to oceangrunge. There's like 15 people who make it who pretend to listen to each other's releases in the hopes of getting their 3rd bandcamp listen this month. Nobody else cares.
Do you like Vektroid? Her early work was a little too electro for my tastes, but when 札幌コンテンポラリーcame out in 2012, I think she really came into her own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consumerist conceptualism that really gives the songs a big boost. She's been compared to James Ferraro, but I think Vektroid has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor. In 2012, Vektroid, under the alias "Macintosh Plus" released this, Floral Shoppe her most accomplished album. I think her undisputed masterpiece is "リサフランク420 / 現代のコンピュー", a song so corny, most people probably don't listen to the music. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of capitalism, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about society itself.
Some users made this a while ago, and there's a lot of good stuff on there, but it's still missing some good albums.
Dream Catalogue releases are neither quality nor vaporwave.
Now available on musical cassette! https://illuminatedpaths.bandcamp.com/album/one
Vaporwave is hit-miss
Most of what I hear, I'm not particularly interested in
The stuff that I'm interested in, I buy; if it's not a cassette, I make it a cassette
>ATMOSPHERES第1 and 2
I contacted the guy who actually made the music (gr8 guy btw), we figured out how much it'd be to make copies, and we made it happen.
i fucking wish my girlfriend was like that
oceangrunge can do it's own thing i guess but i don't really find the same appeal in the source material (heavier metal, drone, low/dark noises) as i do in the vaporwave i listen to (light, airy, clean, refined)
Have you guys ever heard of the Venus Project? Some of the renderings on their website are so very vaporwave, it's delicious. Here are a few examples.
