Last SC thread is ded... over a day old.
NEW SC THREAD!
Let me know your thoughts /mu/
I'll be giving feedback!
thanks guys for everything
nice! i like it. i was kinda bored until that synth riff dropped at around 1:30. im into it. it's like the kind of music i wouldn't be crazy about as an active listener, but if i heard it on the radio every day i would be happy
your concepts are cool, but they get a little repetitive. and i'd personally like to hear more beefiness to your rhythms, but that's just my personal taste. your style is definitely developed, and i think you got some good paths unfolding for you.
check out me stuffs!
this is a new song i released recently:
in case this thread aint pruned
i have work now so ill give some feedback later
hey Poly here. i agree, i need to learn how to make the rythm parts actually powerful, they sound so empty and dead, like hitting cardboard or paper.
your stuff is REALLY cool, i like that yawning synth line, and then shit gets real at 1:40. followed
>electronic blues/alt indie rock
> stoners, improv, experimental, jokes, meme noise
songs for the stoned fuck in all of us
Chilled beats bro. Your latest track has nice vibes!
I love it, Little on the loud side but really bondax/chris malinchak..vibey. What DAW you using?
Great stuff, I love moody sombre beats, Chealright is great 17-6 my favourite though.
/mu/ anon pointed out the percs too loud, other feedback appreciated
>hip hop remix, glo-fi, electronica
I bloody love that tropical sound, I struggle with mallets haha
Im listening to your other stuff now, A lot of Kygo influence, who I want to like but I find his really 'Cold' if you get me? but your stuff is real summery and ticks all the boxes for me.
Really good stuff man, I'm genuinely a fan.
>indie folk acoustic bullshit!!!!

>electronic, ambient, experimental, droney soundscapes, noisy, IDM
/mu/ can you tell me if i mastered right?
im just starting to learn how to do it tips would be cool
what if you, i don't know, didn't click on them or offered criticism (constructive or not) instead of being a little dickhead?
Yeah I hear that. Maybe try layering different kinds of kicks - some with a lot of low end, some with more high end etc.
In either case I like the sidechain compression on this, good stuff man.
Progressive rock, etc
das good, man
>some holiday shit
No :) What are you gonna do about it?
My chopped and screwed playlist
I also make noise and drone as well. I return follows and comments.
what would you suggest i try that would make my songs more interesting?
yeah i have heard of kick layering I guess I will get more into that. I had sampled the kick from the song i sampled but i agree I am trying to make it stand out more and I can tell it isn't working. thanks again for all your input though.

> alt rock

WILL GIVE FEEDBACK FOR YOUR FEEDBACK (just link your stuff at the end of your feedback post and I will tell you what I think). Thanks in advance
New tracks up, I return feedback
this is so cool, loved lead guitar sound, loved drums, loved the idea. the only thing i didnt like is very cold sound of acoustic guitar (it sounds very "metallic" if you know what i mean) - think about putting some warm compression or change the recording method. but in overall - very decent music
cool man, not my kind of music tbh but still liked it - kinda repetitive - add some chiptune synths or something.
also loved "vocals" - idk why but i thought all the time of fucking electronic music from 90s. cool
heres mine, gimme yer feedback
>space prog videogamish
>all sorts of stuff!
>this is so cool, loved lead guitar sound, loved drums, loved the idea. the only thing i didnt like is very cold sound of acoustic guitar (it sounds very "metallic" if you know what i mean) - think about putting some warm compression or change the recording method. but in overall - very decent music
yeah, i kinda need to remix the whole thing in general. that recording started as sort of a sketch and i just kept all my quick "i need to grab my guitar and record this" instead of rerecording them properly.
thanks a lot for the constructive feedback!
>Experimenting with samples
oh right, i thought you forgot to link it.
the folk pop song is pretty good, i wouldn't go overboard with the panning though, that always kind of disorients me. the rhythm guitar is lacking low mids imo. i like the solo guitar, chill melody, very fitting.
i really like night bus will drive me home. the mixing is a little bit too muffled for my taste, but fitting. i like the atmosphere. could've done without the guitar at the end though.
the blues song is not my thing, not a big fan of the guitar sound either. how did you record it?
Folk song was recorded using 2 different microphones - condenser for lead and dynamic for rhythm - going through i think akai usb interface to ableton live. No takes in there so lead guitar is mostly improvised. Panning was my idea - wanted to imitate sound of sitting with your friends in a small room and just chilling - i still need to learn a lot about mixing tho so it is not perfect. Vintage warmer on both tracks, a little eq
In night bus and bluesy song i used my portable guitar multieffect as a somekind of di box connected to standard input jack on my macbook pro. Amp simulation (and modulation effects in night bus - yes, both bass and "synth" are de facto my guitar) provided by guitar rig 5. Everything went to ableton. Used built in eq compression, limiters and vintage warmer 2.
Thanks a lot for your feedback, have a nice day
Just finished this badboy, and oh lawdy did it turn out better then i would've thought. Much better then my previous stuff, im glad im improving!
Reviewing stuff under my post for an hour or so, until my plane takes off
Don't be afraid to be brutally honest with your thoughts!
> Taxi Driver feel
> hip hop
Will return all feedback on SC!
Forgot to add my feedback, sry
Very uplifting, nice mix as well, very nice sounding "main" synth. I would love to hear some vocals tho (maybe some vocoder stuff? Idk, but think about it)
Hmm, generally not my cup of tea, so i'm not really sure how it's suppsed to sound. But i'f say it's rather repetitive since it's lacking vocals, but it's well produced and nice!
it's what daft punk uses on their vocals most of the time.
you could sing the vocals, you don't need to hit any notes as the synth does that for you, just make sure that your enunciation is good.
Nice idea, really enjoyed this track. Would love to hear some another instrument after spoken part (i mean when youre done with speaking) tho - some guitar chords, melodic acoustic lead guitar or slow, chill drum beat should do the trick. Will follow when i get back home,
Check my stuff out (give your feedback here or on soundcloud)

Second part of a concept album
Beautiful nice music, makes me smile :)
Lyrics are in finnish, but tell me, does this sound good to you musically. Personally I love it but my opinion maybe biased since I can understand the words
Stellar. Highly recommending this one. Can't wait to hear the new album!
Fuck off. You're the same anon who shits on everyone in these threads, right? You came over from those godawful production threads that always devolve into petty arguments over the superior DAW...
Jkoen, take this one's opinion with a grain of salt, and keep doing what you're doing!
Thanks so much!
thank you very much!
When someone dismisses something due to the genre I tend to just ignore it. It's their choice to deride it and it doesn't bother me at all. If I get negative feedback, I'm happy as long as it has some substance from which I can derive advice. In that poster's case, I just ignore it.
As for the new album, I've been waiting about a month for the artwork but the music is all done. The guy who is doing it has been swamped with commissions lately, but hopefully I get it soon. I may also be scoring a short film he is doing, so that's very exciting.
Thank you for your interest, I'm glad you like my stuff!
consistently recommending. Oh - and a new track! I'll check it out once I'm done the album I'm listening to.
take a look if you have some time
I spent weeks on this track. All instruments are played by me except for the midi drums.
I return feedback.
>genre: strange trip through a meadow from an other dimension.
> REAL RAP SHIT
Seriously... It's really fucking obvious; I like your stuff, though. Just quit being such a shameless self-promoter. People have quickly stopped caring. Find new ways to entice the listener, instead of turning your music and image into a disposable meme.
This is seriously amazing work and deserving of much more admiration and acclaim.
I'm certain this anon isn't even listening to the music being posted and instead is basing his or her opinions off of the genres being listed. What a tool.
> b e a u t y . .
Finished track for real this time
returning all feedback in an hour.
>ambient, noise, experimental, drone
will return feedback
>House, garage, tech, electronic etc.
christ this thread is huge
i've been told i sound a lot like elliott smith, modest mouse, and iron and wine. i just released my debut solo album (pic related). i'm printing booklets now, gonna make 50 copies (an exclusivity thing) and sell them. my full band is dropping an EP in about a month as well. hope you guyise dig it
Here's a preview of something I'm currently working on.
>dubstep, trench, bass
Hey so i just finished recording my first song and i wanna get some feedback on it. The beat used is one i was given by a fellow 4chan user. My microphone is pretty shitty and the room i recorded in is shitty so keep that in mind if you choose to listen to it. Plus the vocals are completely raw (no editing) so yeah... anyways i would love some feedback.
