basically jungle is just drum and bass but specifically from south london by black people in the 90s/
thats why its hilarious people calling sully - blue EP jungle when he's like irish or something, it's from 2014 and he's white. it's drum and bass speed garage stuff in reality
Please post some god-tier techno like
you know synths, sc-fi feeling, night-drive, warm drums, really comfy, repetive but highly emotional
So did SUAD in fact invent the name jungle? No. Jamaican MCs have been talking about ‘junglists’ from an estate nicknamed ‘The Jungle’ in Trenchtown for years, though legend has it that the UK adopted the name after Rebel MC sampled a dancehall track that chatted, “Rebel got this chant / Alla the junglists”.
Care to explain? I don't get why some people think obscure stuff is automatically superior to stuff more mainstream-y. although only Untrue is truly groundbreaking, I believe the other two are pretty relevant in regards to the evolution of electronic music.
I thought the old Burial was great. But I'm not one to hype up existing composers over lesser known ones who might be at their peak.
So I'll wait and see who Scaruffi picks out this year. Hopefully Vladislav Delay gets a successor.
Who would you say are the 5 best or most important electronic artists of the 2010s ?
I don't really like recent Burial either. I do believe Stott is at his peak right now, F.i.S. was a huge leap in term of musicality imo.

no - full disclosure, I'm American and don't live in Berlin. Im just a big fan of that style of dnb and follow everything Samurai does...
id say pay attention to tour/DJ dates for the label and you should find something close...
Thats what I dont get. It seems like some of you actually go out of your way to not listen to anything critics like. Usually quality music gets recognized by critics. Its like you dont want to listen to the highlight of the genre you like but rather smaller artists so you can get a sense of elitism around your friends who never heard of them.
my top 3 records of 2014
>Powell - So We Went Electric
>Robert Hood - Exturnus Oblique (Re-Plant)
>Brandon Nickell - Skyline
>but rather smaller artists so you can get a sense of elitism around your friends who never heard of them.
There is nothing obscure or rare in these threads if you actively go clubbing in Europe.
How can you call shit on garage?
if you're using iphone/itunes you can set the 'album artist' to whatever (i go for record label like that other anon) and that leaves you to tag 'artist' with the actual artist and not have to put it in the song name. album artist field will group it all together so you don't have shit going crazy on your phone
