The land of the free, they said
And of opportunity
In a just and a truthful way
But where the president
Is never black, female or gay
And until that day
You've got nothing to say to me
To help me believe"
Is Morrissey the king of SJWs?
It has two different means 1) people who in there quest for social justice, go to extreme ends, which usually turns them into bigots. The have horrible dog piling tactics. See, TERFS, and black/trans extremists.
2) anyone who gives a damn about social inequality, at all.
You usually see the latter being sprouted on 4chan.
A lot of British people are sick of the hopeless wars America drags us into which we get bombed for; the amount of resources America fritters; the dreadful culture we get swamped with; our independent shops closing for a McDonalds or Starbucks America's general bully boy nature. These sentiments might be part of the answer.
>drags us into
Your parliament voted against the Syria intervention, they were free to do the same with any of the other wars
>the dreadful culture we get swamped with
Delete your entire music library then, and take back all of the awful Doctor Who fans
>our independent shops closing for a McDonalds or Starbucks
those are multinational corporations, and what you mentioned is just as much a problem in America as it is in the UK. Also there are plenty of British chains like Wetherspoons putting local businesses in trouble there too.
>bully boy nature
sure thing, perfidious albion.
No because it's human nature, which will always be stronger than human will
It's natural among humans to discriminate eachother, it's a method of survival. If we discriminate others, we will feel and become stronger ourselves. Being good to other people for the sake of being good is not natural, it's only natural when we try to get something out of it.
The obligatory anti-America songs are usually some of the worst material in the artist's entire catalog, too.
Possibly one of the worst choruses in the history of metal.
Well it is possible. It happened to some South African family(DNA tests confirmed she was the dad's) and the courts had to decide if she was white or black in regards to the apartheid
so what gives you the ability to know what is objectively "natural"
humans have survived in collective societies for hundreds of thousands of years. modern capitalism creates a culture of individualism which generates discrimination. there is nothing natural about it. it is a way of social organization and there are an infinite number of alternatives.
Ugh, i didn't even know who that was until you brought her up and looked her up. What the heck is this!?
That's fine, but I am of the persuasion that capitalism separates people and leads to unnecessary competition. There are other ways that people have organized themselves that do not require certain groups to be marginalized for the benefit of others.
>Being good to other people for the sake of being good is not natural
If you truly believe this you have to be a projecting sociopath. The human race wouldn't survive if people didn't help each other.
I think we as a conscious species living in societies can aim to be a little bit better than the buffalo that will knock the slowest one down to keep the predators busy.
>The human race wouldn't survive if people didn't help each other
Yes, and that's because people help other for their own benefit. It's how we survive as a species, by being naturally arrogant and only caring about yourself.
>Communism doesn't count btw because millions of people died because of it
I'm sure nobody has died from capitalistic ventures like America's private health industry or lack of government regulation...
Obviously this argument continues with me saying that those weren't examples of true communism. But I will rather say that we should investigate the ways that people were organized before capitalism for some ideas. Capitalism is a blip in human history.
>It's how we survive as a species, by being naturally arrogant and only caring about yourself
Then why do we have spouses and children? Why do we (not all of us) help those in need?
I think in a modern society healthcare should be a privilege not a right of the wealthy. Maybe that's just me. Same with the privilege to know that the research corporation in the next town hasn't dumped all their toxic chemicals in your town's river because of lack of regulation.
I want an American band or singer to create a concept album about what they perceive to be the failings and hypocrisies of British politics and then wait to see how Brits react to it. Then maybe they'll stop writing awful whiny songs about how we have too many guns and don't elect enough muslims to public office or whatever and focus on their own country's politics like American artists tend to.
But then again half of these British artists probably have summer homes in California anyway.
>Then why do we have spouses and children?
because the desire to fuck her right in the pussy is another human instict
>Why do we (not all of us) help those in need?
For women: they have natural empathy which they need to take care of their children
For men: to feel better about themselves
Well you could make that argument about anything that makes you feel good, but not things that negatively affect you like self-sacrifice or suicide. It's like you're trying to imply humans are only self-serving automatons when they're really not.
so we can go around the world and find universal definitions of "natural"? how did you come to know what was natural? How did you come to define humans as wolves? These are narratives we use to explain the world to ourselves. They are not real. We are not wolves, and the words "instinct" and "natural" are constructions that w've created and defined.
>things that negatively affect you like self-sacrifice or suicide
They don't when you are actually thinking about that. When you consider suicide, you do it because you believe being death is better than being alive.
Read some of the things Henry Ford said
The words are constructed, the meaning is not
