>track has 909 samples or garage drums
>people call it garage or deep house
Why do americans have to ruin everything?
This isn't garage or deep house
>Trip hop is a genre of electronic music that originated in the early 1990s in the United Kingdom, especially Bristol. Deriving from "post"-acid house, the term was first used by the British music media and press as a way to describe the more experimental variant of breakbeat which contained influences of soul, funk and jazz.
errrm no, it's because of drum patterns, use of bass frequencies and chopped vocals etc. which are all present in garage. trip hop influences are actually much more subtle.
in fact most people would say burial is dubstep, because dubstep is what made him start making his music (and he releases on hyperdub), but since dubstep came from garage and his stuff actually sounds more like garage, that's what i'd label it
>use of bass frequencies
Like the reeses that make up the best portion of the works?
Or the jungle kicks on most tracks?
I'd call it symphonic trip hop or atleast fucking jungle.
oh ive read it, quite nice.
However, i do not like being stuck in the 90's for no good reason, plus it's way too one-dimensional and over-emphasizing the UK when there were so much more important things going on elsewhere
Does /bleep/ like ghettotech?
Cause the ghettotech revival is coming. I can feel it.
although burial is garage he'd fit in much better with like the vibes of a dubstep night
most garage nights sound like this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uR3Vw8J8vUo
while dubstep more like - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2AhQ6JgEWs
a dubstep crowd would be more happy just kinda head nod and step about while most garage nights people wanna be skaaaaanking
yeah it sounds like it sampled literally every bass kick pattern from Massive Attack, put it in a different tempo and put some clacks at the end of the original loops and called it a day
stop being this delusional over shitty dance music
>tfw i don't know what skankin looks like
anyone wanna throw up a vid
Because they actually know good music?
Or because all good music is somehow connected to Muricans?
let me make this clear
trip hop - an innovative development on hip hop with wicked dub samples & jazzy breaks
uk garage - uninteresting alteration of jungle in a different tempo
why do you have to be like this
this is all irrelevant - the main point was that untrue is a garage LP and that somehow spawns >>53539311
americans detected indeed lol
er, that's not really it
you can "skank" however you want
"skanking" just means "dancing" but it's gotta be in a kinda like aggressive, solitary way. just going at it on your ones in the crowd
that said, tempa t is sick at skanking
Whats peeps opinion Fabrics label Houndstooth. Really been digging Akkord and Special Request and all their remixes.
Fuck that's on Thursday though. Not gonna reach NY till 3pm Friday :(
Imma probs try to do Tennis of Friday. Imma see if I can make it to Techno Valentine on Saturday at output though that looks good.
How does /bleep/ dress?
Would I get shit for wearing this t shirt?
Post some /bleep/ approved attire. Doesn't necessarily have to be merch.
I'm poor so I wear pants and t-shirts when I go on everyday errands mostly nike or random shirts that make me smile, a jacket when it's cold, a polo when I go out to eat/school, and whatever pair of Jordans I currently have when I go out to music events.
caps, tracksuits, hoodies, bombers, trainers
if u don't wear that kinda stuff u just look like a nerd
if u wanna get "fashion" wear cav empt or nasir mazhar or some label that draws inspiration from uk clubbing culture
This is how I usually roll in the club
>tfw i'm a oakley rep
dunno it's just like when the whole dance is filled with kids in caps and hoodies and then there's some out-of-london-prick wearing a button up shirt and skinny jeans they just look so lame
anyway, also important to make sure ur clothes are machine washable generally so cheap sportswear is good
To be fair, I wear some of the same stuff and I've never been on any type of sports team or participated in any type of martial art or anything ever.
You don't HAVE to be athletic to wear that sort of thing, why try to fit into stereotypes
dress like a normal person, not like some 19 year old, yellow-tooth stained, frail bitch who just discovered the club four months ago, already burned through a quarter of his brain within this time period with his mates, and is a bleeps expert who listens to grime unironically
(reminder this is an accurate profile of ~85% of the UK posters on /bleep/) alri lads
>AM Toronto time
>thread is 10/10 US vs UK shitposting
I wish I could wear chav caps ironically buy my head is too big.
I usually wear 90s looking shit though. Not very original but I don't care.
that's a good turntable pls shut up and lemme listen to my Loefah vinyl k thanks
Holy shit I have that same tub
>tfw my bathroom is /bleep/ approved
requesting a 320 of lowtec - looser
will upload something in return.
i'd buy it if i could-- i can't buy from the internet in my country
I need it for a podcast
> American festivals
Not too bad actually. This is what it's usually like where I live
Is it unusual that I can enjoy both dark, heavy shit like gabber, schranz, neurofunk, techstep, etc. But I also like calming and relaxing stuff like ambient, a variety of trance genres, and chillstep/future garage?
>all these pleb lineups
Superior music festival comin' thru
I'm def a nice guy IRL
I know we all complain about American "rave" culture but the fact of the matter is all those people are having fun. Which is cool for them, I'd just wish all my friends would stop asking me to go to these festivals if they won't even hit one club night in DC with me.
+1. Got dragged to see Excision for a friends bday, sure the music was shit but the energy was incredible, and everybody was having fun
So women in slutty clothes is an implicit approval for rape? how does it feel to be a semi-feral human being?
>"doesn't know when rape is justified"
*tips doo rag*
would it be naff to get a tattoo of my favourite clubs logo?
Just as a reminder of all the sick nights I've had there and also the logo is pretty smart
I got a medium sized tattoo on my arm of something I thought I'd like and regretted it almost immediately.
Tattoos are for idiots and 99% of the time people have shit taste and they're done by tattoo artists who are anything but artists.
Hopefully in a few years I can get it removed.
