Finally. I don't care about BBNG but Ghostface's last few albums have been really solid and the singles have sounded great.
Gonna listen to this on the way to my job interview this afternoon.
album was originally supposed to be released this week but got pushed back to next week at pretty much the last minute, all reviewers given early press copies were probably unaware and published their reviews as usual
Holy shit. This album has so many tight tracks. The one with DOOM was especially sweet. It's no game changing effort, but I'm loving every minute of it.
I don't see how you could give it anything lower than a 7
On my second listen, my only gripe again is Tone's Rap and the fact the album feels incredibly short, but god damn tracks like Sour Soul, Stark's Reality and Food really make me question why this got 6's. This is a pretty fucking solid album with no real issues what so ever, although I can see why people say Ghost isn't the same, but that's not necessarily a down right bad thing.
I really enjoyed the album, I'm thinking a 7.5/10. It's not quite an 8, but it's not a 7 either. My favourite tracks were Six Degrees, Sour Soul, and Ray Gun. Ray gun sounded like somethin straight off of Operation DOOMsday, love it. The beatswitch was excellent too. It sounded like a villain's theme right out of a cartoon, but hip-hopified. Stark's Reality is kinda weak but i get the feeling its more of an intermission track. Food is also a great track, it feels like the most aggressive vocal performance by Ghostface on the album
I'm not feeling why everyone seems to be saying Nuggets of Wisdom is not a good track, the actual lyrical part is a bit short for sure, but the lines are good and the instrumental is definitely not bad.
The lyricism isn't really anything special as far as I can tell, but I honestly don't get the 6s it was given.
Also I guess ATCQ are a group with live instrumentals too but I guess what i'm searching for is hip hop with live instrumental and with less sampling. No sampling would be the best.
Is there ANYTHING like this in the world of hip hop?
>ft. Danny Brown
This garbage nigga ruined one of my favourite songs on Pinata, and now he's ruined this album too
ArtOfficial fits the bill but I've never been able to get that into their stuff.
Home Brew has some really cool material in this vein if you can get past the NZ accents.
YUGEN is pretty smalltime but I've seen them live and they're great. Check out the track "Gold."
thanks dude. ArtOfficial are pretty cool and so is YUGEN. Home Brew was not really my style.
Yup still here. Sounds interesting but it's also pretty cliche hip hop (in terms of his flow and instrumentals) atleast from what I heard.
That leaves you with but 30% of your rating scale to distinguish between good, great and amazing albums, while there's 60% left for shite music. Tells us a lot about your taste.
(since this is a leak thread)
Does anyone have the new Liturgy album? Leaked but I can't find it
There's a pretty cool limited edition gold version that I pre-ordered purely based off the fact that I enjoyed most of the pre-released singles. Looks like that gold version isn't available anymore but there's still regular vinyl and a cassette http://shop.lexrecords.com/products/sour-soul
>It was already pointed towards myself
It's not about how much good or bad music there is for me. I don't care enough about bad music to dedicate such a large part of a rating scale to it. Can you really tell a four from a three with a system like that?
Sorry for my aspergers
