I made this for the guy who made a thread requesting good stand-up comedy albums earlier, but his thread is kill, so flowchart thread I suppose.
Never listened to this guy before. I am in a mood for some laughs since I am clinically depressed. I like shit like George Carlin, Andy something (too drunk to remember his last name some indie dude), and everyones favorite Louis CK. Is he funny?
>Is he funny?
Gee I dunno, maybe I should make a flowchart about what albums of his you should listen to to emphasise how worthwhile he is to listen to.
You could've just said yes for fucks sake. Imma check out that more personal one though. Hopefully I can get some laughs out of my shit situation. Sorry I kinda lashed out on you in that first sentence btw, I am that dumb.
Oh and thanks for posting this. One of the trips here made this amazing flowchart (lotsa love to you Zirk as useless and worthless as I am.)
I like the list, Stanhope is one of my favorite stand-up comics. I do think Beer Hall Putsch needs an arrow coming from the dirty section though, since as he's gotten older he is doing more smutty stuff, especially the football/breast cancer rape joke that lasts like 10 minutes.
:) that was actually entirely made by a friend of mine who doesn't post here
requesting a math rock flowchart pleasee
sorry i dont have a flowcchart to add
Well I am just kinda crediting you cuz you're the one who introduced me to your dope ass flowcharts. It's funny, since I can't fit the right amount of music, I am gonna be bringing back to my college apt my old ipod and iphone so I can fit all the stuff in your/your friends'/your blogmates' flowcharts.
Also cuz of your blog I have newfound interest in that weird free jazz thing SST was doing back then, too. Thank you.
Here. Funny I found this on tumblr. I always thought this chart was from here.
Some ppl consider it free jazz because it has some similarities, but the instrumentation and production is too weird for me to consider it that. and yeah it was only really Greg Ginn and Black Flag that did that, it's just I'm sure a lot of them had some avant garde jazz influence, so I don't want to mislead you to thinking sst had this free jazz phase
No no I know what you mean. It's just that there's a friend of mine who likes Black Flag but doesn't like that stuff. I have been getting into a lot of stuff that's influenced by free jazz (mostly 70s krautrock type stuff.) So I just had an interesting moment with him where we were discussing what this type of music truly did.
Also, once I get out of depression and start producing again, I'll definitely have my friend who'll MC put a shoutout for you, cuz I have a feeling by the time I stop hating myself all these flowcharts are gonna influence me hard.
Haha thanks. I'll definitely keep that one in mind and look into it. I'll tell that to my friend who'll MC too cuz about 3 years ago I helped him with bipolar and now he's trying to help me with unipolar. Two formerly/currently depressed guys making some hip hop.
Have any of Zirk's charts been put on the wiki yet?
Or is it my responsibility? I'd like to put them on there so I don't have to keep spamming these shits when ppl ask
Anyone have anything for John Zorn?
I just downloaded a ton of his stuff and all I've tried is pic related.
It was good but I wonder what other stuff I should check out other then Naked City.
Can I get one for experimental breakcore? I really like pic related and would like to explore more
Also here's a pretty solid Of Montreal Chart for anyone who wants. If you have any questions about it I'll be around
Here. Sorry it took so long. Stupid 4chan thinks I am spamming cuz I have been here all day drunk and depressed.
Came in my pants a little, thanks for this. What's your opinion on Igorrr anyway if you know him? I haven't been able to get enough of him lately, his shit makes me wanna punch a hole in the wall
I LOVE me some Igorr when I am not going through clinical depression. I know what you're talking about though. I think Imma jam some of him once I get a tad more drunk and feel like wanting to punch my apartment wall. I have done that to Nails' album Unsilent Death so far. Enjoy the breaks though!
This damage control lol
Pretty good actually. I'd establish Illinois a little bit more stylistically, but it flows well. I think where you have Carrie is a safe assumption considering his interviews
I should listen through more artists discographies. I liked making this.
Yeah, but I end up not feeling dedicated enough to go through all the shit in their discography. Plus somebody already made an Owen Pallett/Final Fantasy flowchart.
SST would be a great one. Thinking of other labels that would be interesting. Warp maybe?
Night People would be an interesting one
Give me David Cross's first two albums a shot, it's a bit dated I say because it's bashing bush and a bit lol muh atheism is true, but within the context of it being 2002-2004 it kinda "excuses" it in a sense.
