Hi fellas, just released my Alternative R&B EP. Would love to hear what you think, especially about the songs that haven't been released already as singles. Thanks for everyone who has given me feedback during the last two months and helped me with this process, I'm grateful beyond measure.
https://saintmovinghills.bandcamp.com >art-rock, post-rock, minimalist, instrumental >side project of Get Lost, Wire Avenue
------------------------------------------------ As a side project of "Get Lost, Wire Avenue", I decided to make 'Dry Flames Burning in Your Chest' for couple of hours for name your price. I hope you enjoy it.
>>53844624 Dreamlike with a lot of layers. Sometimes sounds a bit random, actually VERY random at times with your choice of samples. Think it's trying a little hard to be different, try picking samples that work better with each other
>>53844768 thanks for the feedback, and yeah I agree with parts, especially on A Laughter From An Empty Room. I'm really proud of that song but looking back it sounds pretty cluttered. When I sample its always from something i think is funny or has nostalgic merit to me, so i use it as a way to reference things I enjoy.
>>53844864 ya man, i have loads of samples of me and my friends talking and at the end of the day, you should really be making music for yourself, not to please me so if hearing your friends laugh makes you happy, go for it. I just can't connect on an emotional level because I don't know you
>Atmospheric post-industrial synthpunk >yeah, you heard me well... ATMOSPHERIC POST-INDUSTRIAL SYNTHPUNK! >No, sincerely, I don't know how to label it, help me...
>>53843897 Listened to Theravada. I liked how the guitars (especially in the first two minutes) sounded like a huge orchestra, I thought I was hearing a hazy/over-reverbed version of The Rite of Spring. Interesting stuff.
>>53844287 Recommanded for those who dig atmospheric death rock.
>>53844287 >https://datingsystem.bandcamp.com/ Joy Divison vibes. Also sounds a little like deathconciousness as well. Feel like your influences are a little obvious so it doesn't sound original. This could sound a lot better live, you should play shows cuz you'll def get fans from people who like similar music. Can't really get down with this because I never really got into those bands i mentioned earlier
>>53844263 Really liking this sonically, I feel like you have a grasp on production and know how you want it to sound. Great juxtaposition of the clean plucking guitar and the low passed distorted guitar. This would sound even better live. Drums could probably come in a bit sooner, I was getting bored near the 1:30 mark before the synth came in. But when the drums came it, it grabbed my attention again.
>>53844222 The beat's aight. Not digging the vocals at all, feel like they're too far in front of the mix. But I'm biased because i don't like r&b so someone who likes this kind of music would have better input
https://noiseclimax.bandcamp.com/album/18-ep >if songs about wanting to be in brutal threesomes with Lana Del Rey and Lorde are your thing, this music is for you. >we make fast music for fast people >inspired by 80s punk music mostly >lyrical content: Sarcastic as fuck >4 songs, 4 minutes
>>53845518 oh shit! Well thanks for the support. Sorry about 20... I had very little input on how the sound came out.
I've been super busy trying to get my life back in order to be honest. I sorta had a nervous breakdown back in October after the actual band lineup for Noise Climax broke up, and I haven't really picked up a guitar or anything since then. I am finally working on the 21 EP and I hope to have it out soon, actually. I finished working with all the drums and everything a few hours ago and now I'm about to record the bass parts... so it's just me instead of the other Lovejoys.
so yeah, haven't been here recently. How ya been m8?
>>53845608 There's no need to be upset! Missed ya m8. Digging the new split btw.
>my first album >metro-ko, downtempo, dubstep, 2-step, underground hip hop, moody, chill, psychedelic >collaborated with jordaan mason on a track >contains samples of the beach boys, joanna newsom, daniel johnston, bob dylan, bill evans, and various films >made for a girl
>>53845006 Good voice, good playing and good songwriting. I'm not a huge fan of how the guitar is recorded, it sounds a little too boomy and dry. The only criticism I have as far as the composition goes is that I think your music would be really great with a little more variation with the instrumentals, a band would suit you.
>>53845377 Do you like MEISHI SMILE? You would probably like them a lot if you haven't heard 'em already. Also thanks for the Facebook like haha, I had just created the 4! FB page a few hours beforehand so you're one of the first.
Anyways we just reissued a Baddest Beams EP and three Logan Archer albums, they're all now available on cassette for the first time :D
https://4fctrl.bandcamp.com/ >a bunch of different stuff ranging from folk to noise to psych pop, all home-recorded >cassettes made w/ <3
>>53845237 I will say that it's essentially just me being featured on his stuff. Hopefully it turns out awesome. >>53845288 Thanks man. To respond to what you said a few days ago, I can definitely handle it... but I'd rather handle some of those tight Hotel Anhedonia beats yo. >>53845321 Thanks for the feedback. Valid point honestly.
https://aegorton.bandcamp.com/ >black metal >doom metal >instrumental Demo out now! 20 minutes of raw evil. Available on CD limited to 50 copies. Raw (but not disgustingly bad) production. Hope you enjoy!
Also try: >>53843897 Really good black metal. Atmospheric, raw, dark, evil. >>53844344 Well done, uplifting, beautiful ambient. >>53845237 >https://noiseclimax.bandcamp.com/album/18-ep Energetic, awesome hardcore punk. Really short but clever songs, catchy and slightly pissed off. Great lyrics. >>53845288 Fast and heavy, brutal. Sounds raw and amateur, vocals could do with some work, but it's fun as fuck. The black metal album is awesome, raw and atmospheric. Listen to both but the latter especially. Opening track is amazing.
>>53845963 I want downloads not feedback, the albums here are finished, someone telling me they like the drums or I can't sing ain't gonna change anything, that shit's for those casuals over in the soundcloud threads. But anyway it's a moot point since I am still here anyway
>>53845921 Wheel was our bassist trying to do one of those "hey, let's be super sarcastic like on 18"
Actually all 3 of us had our own inputs on different EPs
18 was mine 19 was most Mordecai 20 was Dmitri 21 is just going back to me.
Honestly I wouldn't have minded not working with them if they had told me they didn't want to. Dmitri kinda did this thing where he got super moody and he used that as an excuse to treat people like shit and he got mad when I essentially said "fuck you, I'm not dealing with this anymore." Mordecai just doesn't wanna keep going anymore and that's fine. I totally respect his decision, I just wish he had told me that he felt like I was bugging him or something instead of playing nice with me.
>>53845927 Well that sounds pretty fucking rad. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
>>53845963 I try to give stuff my attention because I know it'd only be fair because that's how I'd want my stuff to be treated.
>>53845995 Thanks, man! The lyrics have always been a point of contention. They're either "too sarcastic" or "too emo" and it's just a thing where I can't win anyhow so I just do me.
>>53846049 >(get a better program. there is a lot of issues with clipping in this, not sure if intentional)
Don't think it has to do with the program, its honestly my own mixing habits. Trying to make everything as loud as possible. There actually isn't any clipping but you're probably hearing the limiter on the master bus. Any tips to clean it up? Lower all the faders? Less compression?
>>53844344 At 27 minutes I'd call this an album. Gotta agree with the other guy, the limiter is not really the best way to do that. Better just to keep everything lower, especially when your textures are so good.
>>53846015 That's actually a good point, Bandcamp and Soundcloud have different (though equally useful) purposes. I still think if you're gonna download something from one of these threads it's worth replying to their post to let them know, since that will draw other people to it and also keep the thread moving/bumped. Likewise if you listen to something that is kind of bad and there is an obvious reason (like a shitty recording or their guitar is super out of tune, that kind of stuff) it might be helpful to point out so that someone might take that to heart on anything they do in the future.
>>53845237 IM TURNING INTO MILEY CYRUUUUUUUUUS is a feel I've had before. Sorry to hear you guys are splitting - Going through a band breakup can be stressful, hope that wasn't too bad for you.
>>53845427 You're right, I should never have released that old shitty song I made almost two years ago. This has been getting so much hate that I've chosen to delete this release to make some more "quality" material before releasing anything new.
