R.I.P Jun 'Nujabes' Seba
February 7, 1974 – February 26, 2010
Today is the fifth anniversary of his death ;_;
truly a sad day for music, and the world.
>sample of his work
Take some time to post you favorite track[s] and pay respects.
He made the comfiest most relaxing music
This track is beautiful
Well this is the first year I've not seen an outpouring of threads about him on this anniversary on here.
I mean look at this face
LOOK AT IT
wat a chill dude...
rest in beats
See ya, space cowboy
His music really moves me every time I hear it
word. I remember all the ppl spamming about it, so many hearts touched.
I still remember how I felt when I first heard Luv Sic pt. 6 when Hyde Out released it in 2013.
even as a postmortem release the spirit was undeniable.
>When that backing vocal beat came in
wow it hit me hard. I realized that I needed to cherish my friends, family & loved ones bc this shit is beautiful but not permanent.
>S-s-s-s-some one to lo-
>S-s-s-s-some one to love
>W-w-w-we need love
i used to really like nujabes years ago but all the rip ;;;;;;; forever in heaven cocksucking got me so tired of him that i cant stand his music now it sounds like a generic youtube 2 hour uplifting (great for study) compilation
>you're a flower
>you're a river
>you're a raaaaaainbow
fav track Spiral
>so groovy so haunting
I can understand where you're coming from.
He does get alot of traffic from ppl who hype his stuff to the point of annoyance.
But when I first heard him I thought he was amazing as well, granted I didn't tell every one about him, but I can imagine that the ppl who are the most annoying are new to his discog.
and besides if more ppl are still finding him thats a good thing. Hes music obviously has the ability to hit ppl a certain when when they havn't heard that sound beforehand, and thats what music should be man.
If you really mean it, that these ppl have ruined not just his music for you, but that your ability to enjoy things like this has been hindered I am sorry to hear that, truly.
I am not saying hes the greatest musician ever, but hopefully you'll be able to fully enjoy his stuff again one day.
>RIP Seba, much love
I literally get to this part and read this.
Fuck nigga, my day's been shitty enough as it is.
>and then the pianos of part 5 hit
thanks man. i dont know if i should blame it entirely on these people, maybe it was overplay or the entire aesthetic of photoshop brushes and abstract images. nujabes has to be one of the most polarizing artist for me, sometime im really in the mood, but more often than not i cant stand him. some songs like reflection eternal or who's theme never get boring though.
This fucking pic. Always i see this pic make me thinking god he look so fucking comfy... hope he still is. Rest in beats
Fav song latitude, but that highlight in world end rhapaody was something really majestic
A couple of weeks ago my best mate told me to check out his 'Metaphorical Music' album, the opening song blew me fucking away. Best song IMO is Lady Brown. Shit has brilliant lyrics.
>Modal Soul was what got me into hip-hop
>mfw my disappointment when I went to look for more work, only to find out that he was dead.
That album's always going to hold a special place in my heart. I never listened to his posthumous album though.
>God's gift to earth is you wearin' a see through
Can't help but smirk.
Check out all the rest of his shit man.
Then check out Uyama Hiroto, he's done two other albums in a similar style. He's the guy usually playing saxiphone on Nujabes's album.
Check the above and get fucking spiritual state man.
My favorite is that fan mix of LuvSic in the Youtube link in OP.
But seriously, just about every album for both nujabes and hiroto are worth downloading, that shit will give you good listening for at least a year and a half.
Favorite individual song is this though:
Released this today
in honor of him
REST IN BEATS
Thanks for reminding me. I always make it a point to listen to a Nujabes album this day every year. I feel stupid to forget this year.
Listening to hydeout productions volume 2.
Fuck, I forgot how good this is. The snows finally melting here, and it just fits so perfectly.
His death hit me hard. I was really starting to get into trip hop thanks to him and Fat Jon from their work on Samurai Champloo. I ended up liking Fat Jon and his earlier work, but I was impressed just how much of a catalog Nujabes covered. I collected everything I could after hearing he passed away so I could know him more. It's nothing short of moving, best I can describe it. It really took you somewhere else. He won't be forgotten.
RIB Nujabes. Pourin' one out for you
nujabes is one of my favorite artists of all time
his sense of layering and contrast of styles in sampling makes my ears cum
my fav is probably his collab with fat jon for the Samurai Champloo OST
much sadness, very RIP
Looking at this pic, it's hard for me to tell what's sampled in his work and what's original instrumentation. I mean there's some stuff that's obviously sampled and I know the tracks featuring Uyama Hiroto usually have him on sax, but everything else I'm not sure.
>Time is not a nice person
>I know because the sign said it
>Time can be generous but ultimately time is indifferent
>Time does not give two damns or a fuck
>So what will you do?
>What will we do?
>So I'm in the middle of the street talkin' to the signs
>And people are lookin' at me pointing and laughing
>Like, "This mothafucker's crazy!"
>But do they not see the signs?
>Do you not see the signs?
One of the best tracks
>that line in Luv Sic that goes "-blindsided, into the windshield-"
It's like he knew.
RIP in piss
I'm a big fan of Nujabes, there was a time that i just listened to him.
Only bad thing about it is that when u dig deeper into hip hop,you will see that his production is a bit corny and repetitive.
Dope music tho
