How did we get from:
I'm so fucking depressed now. This album's going to be even worse than The 2nd Law and I just want them to stop making music so their transition into Maroon 5 will never complete.
>tfw matt will try to use all of the live riffs they play after SS / micro cuts and make terrible songs based on them
fuck man, first supremcay and now this shit. the riffs are too boring to base a whole song on
>Saw them live during their 2nd law tour
>played that awful fucking dubstep song
>didn't even play New Born
>This amazing fucking band that opened for them blew them out of the fucking water
>They're also releasing a new album\
>Their new single isn't shit like this one
Literally the Linkin Park of Lyrics
RIP Muse, you will never make another OoS
Thanks you give me hope.
Came to their show once, after Black Holes and Revelations ; hearing all the nostalgiafags complaining they didn't play songs from oldest albums made me mad.
The song is fucking terrible, but at the very least, it made me go back and listen to OoS for the first time in about 4 years and it made me realise how great that album is. It was the album that got me into music, and I wish Muse had broken up about 10 years ago, instead of shitting all over themselves for the last few years.
It's kind of an okay song.
After Black Holes, Muse descend into something of a less interesting band so my expectations have somewhat diminished for their new stuff. Still probably gonna listen to the rest of the album anyway
I honestly kinda liked The 2nd Law (pls don't kill me), I just liked OoS and Absolution better. Matt's guitar sound is just great on those albums and didn't really hear it on 2nd Law and Resistance.
I don't think the are trying to please anyone at all, I want to believe they were just complying with a contract for a new release
That might have been the "scrap" of SS, but the result was not bad at all compared to the new crap they released today.
I don't know, lyrically it's really not at their best, I'm really just listening to the instruments right now and it's kinda great.
That riff, that he played for Stockholm outro, was one of my highlights from the show. A so-simple yet-so powerful riff made by 3 notes and a little bending. Less is more.
I mean seriously it is really one of my fav, OoT and Absolution will still be the best stuff they've ever done, but I have lower expectations with them nowadays, so it's ok.
>people bitching about the lyrics
OoS lyrics were shit too. They're music isn't meant to be 32deep64u. I'm pretty sure they only make music to play live so they can justify the costs for huge towers or pyramids.
What's your guys' favorite Muse song?
Mine's Map of the Problematique.
Long time muse fan here
Seen them live 8 times so I'm pretty experienced with this sort of thread.
When I first heard the Stockholm outro riff come into play, my body overcame with joy and happiness.
>The riff is now changing
I'm now full erect expecting something amazing ahead
>fades into the more modern version of what Muse is today.
I'm okay with. Glad Tom Morello let Matt finally use the riff on an album.
He's sang enough love songs and oddities throughout the years and getting older your political viewpoints become more important to you.
There's no way in hell he's going to avoid this song's meaning now like he did with Take A Bow
Looking forward to this album and tour.
I'll be probably get beat up for what I'm about to say, but for me, the best Muse lyrics ever was the second verse of Neutron Star Collision :
>The world is broken
>And halos fail to glisten
>You try to make a difference
>But no one wants to listen
>Hail, the preachers, fake and proud
>Their doctrines will becloud
>Then they'll dissipate
>Like snowflakes in an ocean
I don't really like the song that much, but the 2nd verse is just astounding.
Well yeah okay, I never liked them but I guess they're not as bland as the rest of the album.
I still think the 2nd Law is better, unless you're one of those fags that complains about "m-muh dubstep" the first half of the album is pretty great.
damnit that new single is really shitty
and I thought The 2nd law wasn't bad
this shit sounds like it came straight from a less quality band from 2005.
>your ass belongs to me now
are you fucking serious?
What did you think of the 2nd Law as such a big fan? I was a pretty big fan too, until a few years ago, but I'm always going to be optimistic for this band. The new song is already growing on me.
>Not one person mentioning Rage against the Machine
Bunch of fucking casuals. You've probably never heard this song, so just skip to 4:52
Map of the Problematique is overrated.
I have lots of fav so here it is :
- Falling away With You ( Clearly the most underrated song by Muse, no one's talking about it and it's probably my no.1)
- Micro Cuts
- Dead Star
- Citizen Erased
- Thoughts of a Dying Atheist
- City of Delusion
- Knights of Cydonia
- Exogenesis Part 1
>listening to tame impala on wednesday for the first time in a little while
>they release a new song
>listening to muse yesterday for the first time in a little while
>they release a new song today
what should I listen to today so we can get some new music tomorrow?
Heard Madness on the radio and was like, eh...alright
HATED Panic station and Unsustainable..Then a couple drunk listens and live shows later and Its one of my favourites. But I'm still not a fan of the stuff Chris did on the album.
This would be true if we were talking about NIN fan in me. Sorry man
their political commentary isn't always the best but this one is just plain dogshit
let's do some comparison
Take A Bow: I want those responsible for ruining nations to take responsibility for their actions and be punished
Exo-Politics: Can we expect our leaders to protect us when things get bad
Psycho: Drills sergeants are mean and yell at you so you go crazy and kill everyone lol I own your ass.
are muse redpilled?
pic related, symbolism
His reaction gives me a stiffy
Anyone get their autographs?
I lucky in 2006 probably the last year they felt safe enough to come to the back of a Detroit theatre. They walked to a bar down the street. I was too young to join em..
>producer for AC/DC
Found the problem.
It sounds like supremacy but that actually might be slightly above psycho, I can't decide which one I hate more.
Also these political themes need to stop. Muse have clearly lost any and all ability to be subtle with lyrics since The Resistance started. At this point incomprehensible screaming would be a step up and infinitely more "muse"-ier
Maybe, I'm not familiar with all the producers on the last 2 albums. Though I do know Nero fucked up Follow Me intensely. Still, to me there are lot of good tracks between The Resistance and The 2nd Law, there's just also a lot of crap in between as well.
>tfw muse were my favourite band like 6 years ago
>tfw I no longer listen to them but this thread is kinda making me want to
>tfw I listened to a bunch of their songs and they just don't do anything for me anymore
This is just joke right? they wanted to make the riff to song so its bad but fuck this shit no this was supposed to bring some good music what resistance and 2shit fuck this fuck fuck
still going to see them live tough.
The album was too large and taking too long to fully upload, so I just put a torrent magnet link on MEGA.
Let me know if this works
>tfw remembering how amazing the 2nd half of Invincible is
>I'll never hear it for the first time again
Mine too back in the good ol highschool days. I'll always have a special place in my heart for them.
I seriously hope the rest of the album is a step up from this, but i really doubt it
The MEGA upload is done, for anyone who wants it.
2. Knights of Cydonia
5. Citizen Erased
Hon mention: Glorious
Longshot here, but does anybody have a spare ticket for their Newport gig next Friday they could sell me for a non-extortionate price? Kicking myself for sleeping in and missing out on the bookings and they're already going for like £300, and I'm a university poorfag.
>Mfw I saw the new album cover and the tracklist
This is going to be the musical equivalent of Banksy graffiti
>Bruh, like, the government
I used to be a really big Muse fan during my teen years (Saw them at Wembley Stadium), but listening to that made me feel slightly embarrassed.
Anyway, Hoodoo lyrics wise at least was the best thing Bellamy has ever written
This album made me realize that The Resistance is really not that bad.
God The 2nd Law was pretty abysmal though, and the new album is shaping up to be fucking terrible, and I highly doubt this single being within the context of the album will save it from being a shite song.
Shit song, it's Uprising mixed with one riff they used to close their sets, and that fucking blues riff from Roadhouse Blues, because when Wolfmother did it was cool, right
damn you Matthew for making me jump into the hype train
Honestly, the only thing I actively dislike about Resistance was Guiding Light. USoE never really grabbed me when I was younger, but maybe I'd like it now.
MK Ultra, US, Exogenesis, and Resistance (song) are all pretty good by my book. And I'm sure I'll catch flack, but I actually kind of like Undisclosed Desires.
> new album is shaping up to be fucking terrible
I'm not really digging this track, but it's just one track. There's another single coming out in like a week or so. Fingers crossed until then.
>2 songs on Drones are just samples of people talking
>one of them was the drill sergeant in the video
>the other is presumably a JFK speech
>that leaves 9 more opportunities for a good song
I love the digital sound of the guitar in MK Ultra but like most of Muse's new stuff, it doesn't feel heavy, just bland
It feels like they just slapped formulas and produced it quickly for the money
