/mu/, whats the most current, awesome electronic music?
Something that will blow my head off cause its so innovative and groundbreaking.
Educate a pleb who isnt afraid of trying new things.
>won't give me an example of what he likes
i won't suggest shit then. bye.
I saw John Hopkins play earlier this year and really liked his set, same with Clark. Andy Stott has always been a favorite of mine though, check him out if you can.
I have a friend who put a sort of side project of Stott's, Millie & Andrea, higher on his 'Best of' list for last year so that might be worth a check.
I mean its not super amazing but god i love the production on the first 20 seconds of this song. very pleasant sounding compared to the way that technique is normally used. Its unique in that sense.
not the most innovative acts today
if idm were to exist, they already invented it 20 years ago. you literally can't be innovative if you just keep doing the same old thing for 20 years
>ask for electronic music on /mu/
>only get pleb dance music
This sort of stuff...
Probably SOPHIE and PC Music, they're a London based Producer and London based label respectively, check out 'Lemonade' by SOPHIE and 'Had 1 (Club Mix)' By PC Music (Via A.G Cook)
Holly Herndon's new album, Platfroms I think it's called, should also be good too, check her out:
Its an idiots guide because retards don't realise electronic music covers everything from Musique Conctrete to Industrial, hip hop to speedcore and is the dumbest, hugest umbrella term since ''classical''.
Producer here, the only recent stuff which caused some controversy on forums like Gearslutz as far as i know were Justice - Cross, and Skrillex - Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites
I also cant remember everything else what was interesting in terms of sound design since then.
there is nothing like that at the moment. we're just waiting for the Martin Garrix EDM trap phase to die out and something new to happen, but someone needs to actually invent a new sound for that to happen sooo...
