Thank you for listening
this is a lot of fun! I really like the sound. you remind me someone with your voice, but I'm not sure who it is you remind me of. You kinda sound like the TMBG guy sometimes?
I enjoy this and when I have 3 dollars im going to buy a cassette.
this is really good stuff. Probably my favorite use of chiptunes Ive yet to hear. I'll also buy a cassette from you when I can afford it. It's a really cool aesthetic you've got going. its fun, dancy, and otherworldly. great stuff
posting my debut in a sec. I hope you guys like it. please let me know what you think. I will return feedback of course
Just uploaded this like 5 minutes ago:
>spoken word with dreamy, hypnotic synth
>(kinda) hip hop
>bedroom producer singing in spanish from a tropical south american country
>electronic mathy/proggy stuff
a few recs i've found from these threads
OP here. Thanks man, once you post your stuff I'll listen to it right away.
True haha but I'm not too worried about the lack of mastering. It's just a bedroom project that I put together in the last few months.
PS. Today I found out there is an actual novel called 'Suburban Book of the Dead' and I also wrote a song called that completely independently, pissed me off cause everyone will think I stole it from that.
>Sympathique - s/t
>instrumental psychedelic jams to abuse drugs to
originally recorded in 2007, aka my freshman year of high school, but never released. i was supposed to spend friday night playing music with my best friend but he ditched me for the "popular" kids, so i went home that friday and decided i was going to record something to spite him. i drank a bunch of cough medicine, and, armed with a guitar, bass, combo amp, a floor tom, a hat, a multieffects pedal and a copy of audacity, made this record. recorded on friday, mixed on saturday, finished on sunday. i hope you enjoy it!
will be very happy to return any feedback
>noisy 60s influences
>recorded both over the course of a few hours because I was bored.
Reccing the crew tho:
Reviews for the non-crew
Not gonna lie, this is interesting... It sounds like Beach House, Slint, and Beck got together and wanted to make something unique. The instrumentals are tight af.
Maybe it was just me but the stuff on "X" felt a bit too quiet for my liking... Maybe I just don't get it. Overall though it's incredibly nice.. the way everything works together just works if that makes sense at all.
everything feels slightly out of sync and off key. it's like you were going to put in some finishing touches on the tracks and just said fuck it. try to put more thought in to how your samples sync up with the beats.
i love the more ambient parts. the more straight electronic tracks are alright as well, if a bit predictable and annoying at points. the tracks that blend the elements of both such as dunkelschneit and distance. decent stuff.
this is lovely. very detained and comfy, but cold at the same time. huge REC
>weird, sort of lo-fi sounding R&B/hip-hop
>the money make her wet, it's a shame
EP of my contributions to my split album with Reign Of Apollo, check it out, it's definitely a mixed bag
>atmospheric rock, doom metal, heavy metal, prog. and shoegaze influence, etc.
Also heavy reccs to:
I know cause I went through your bandcamp checking out everything you've bought/downloaded the other day haha
That Priima album has some great stuff on it, also January 2nd by Happy Trendy is awesome
Thanks for the rec btw, u know i love u 2
>My first album
>A weird meld of ambient, minimalistic synthpop, and IDM
Thanks, man. It's the first new project that I've recorded since November so I wasn't sure how people were going to respond to new stuff from me. I get worried very easily.
This is one of the best compliments I've honestly ever gotten for my music. I fucking love Ian Cutis. Even though I'm trying to do 60s, I have tried channeling a bit of Ian's energy into my vocals. The drum sound was a conscious choice on my part to try and emulate that 60s rock sound to a certain degree.
reccing. this is really fucking cool.
>my first album
>metro-ko, downtempo, dubstep, 2-step, underground hip hop, moody, chill, psychedelic
>collaborated with jordaan mason on a track
>contains samples of the beach boys, joanna newsom, daniel johnston, bob dylan, bill evans, and various films
>made for a girl
>last release under the name Hiding Places
>i'll be under the name Osterman and my first mixtape will be released sometime this spring
i realized you were probably talking about the vocals after a second. the instruments are not samples. the vocals are. it's out of key and slightly off beat on purpose. when things are quantized so squarely it's boring to me.
Thanks for the love. Means a lot to a square like me.
Can't wait to hear the shit you and Cherry got going on. "Drag Queens" was pretty fucking tight and I can't wait to hear what you two have to offer.
>acoustic pop punk
in the style of The Front Bottoms and McCafferty
>a whole adventure
Thanks so much! I'm glad you're enjoying it.
oh man like, before I recorded this, I barricaded myself into my room and drank about 17 oz of various cough medicines that were laying around the house. I don't remember recording most of this but im still happy with how it sounds after all these years.
lel this is copied and pasted from the other thread and not slug christ/gahm posting it themselves but yeah listen to this one, and really anything else associated with awful records is pretty cool right now. On It (Seven Grams) was hip-hop SOTY 2014
he forgot to give a rec to one of the random numbers holy shit
>post-rock / math rock
gonna go through this thread and post some recs
Here's what I'll spoil:
I'm recording EP#3 tomorrow. It's the third in the Basement Sessions series, and the sub-name is "Pep Rally."
The drums are going to be a bit more heavy hitting, and it's going to contain two original tracks as well as 2 covers... I'm still trying to figure out what two covers to do. I really wanna do "Love Potion Number 9" but I also wanna do something more related to 90s one-hit wonders.
dope, hope i can get a tape soon
>if you're in a death gripsy kinda mood
>aggressively sexual dance punk
>tracks 2 and 7 feature accordion for anyone into that shit
>Ambient, Experimental, Techo
>electronic, trap, hip hop instrumentals
Just released. Beats I made while on a road trip to Canada.
this is a single i did for a remix compilation titled "Technicolor Translations"
homies of mine like CROP, la pumpkin(under a pseudonym), a couple of my Midwest Collective homies and a bunch of my fellow collective mates.
all in all it's a pretty awesome collaboration project i'm super stoked on and i hope everyone else is too!
it should be out next month!
new tape label, first release up for preorder now!
>shortform ambient, plunderphonics
>exclusive tape b-sides
>lo-fi // indiepop // whatever other people call it
This is perfect actually... the way it gets all it needs to get done in such a small period of time is really important, and plus it's incredibly catchy... really nice! Can't wait to hear more of your music!
Just put out a new album, would like feedback
>garage meets country

Check out these guys:
>Alternative R&B/Dark R&B
Hi fellas, just released my Alternative R&B EP. Would love to hear what you think, especially about the songs that haven't been released already as singles. Thanks for everyone who has given me feedback during the last two months and helped me with this process, I'm grateful beyond measure.
I'll return all the feedback as usual!
ayyy thanks for the feedback man much appreciated. your music is fucking cool dude. it's almost giving me dxm flashbacks. it feels like a fucking dxm trip so if that's what you were attempting, you were spot on
oh wow man, this is fantastic, i'm really into dark sounding r&b. melancholic atmosphere while being hypersexual. ace production. relaxing. my only wish is that the two songs i listened to had more progression, that might just be a personal preference. anyways, great work.
listened to this yesterday and i don't remember if i gave feedback or not but this is pretty cool stuff. it's aggressive and playful. but the aesthetic is really hindering me from getting too into this. the cartoon shit is just really ugly and clashes with the heavy, sometimes dark music.
this is really boring : ( and at times a bit too sloppy even for punk music.
i like this but it needs some progression and better mixing. personally i think the vocals should be much higher in the mix.
ace production, tasty synths. not something i'd personally listen to but it's well crafted music
lyrics are nice, guitar is nice, general atmosphere is upbeat and friendly. i like this.
oh shit, this is fantastic man. i love those lo fi vocals. melodies are just gorgeous. this is something i'm going to download and will probably listen to this a lot.
well done but a bit too generic with out anything that draws me in. not bad though
damn, how has this gone unnoticed? probably the album art. these melodies are beautiful i love the vocal layering. please keep making music.
god damn how have i missed all of this beautiful music. again, fantastic melodies and melancholic vocals. i really want them to mixed higher because they are fantastic.
dude is fucking sick, please listen to him
this is straight feels. dark and passionate atmosphere. love it
this dude deserves more attention on this thread. fantastic guitar playing and great vocals. favorite track: Tyrants
awesome flow, great instrumentals. groovy vibe and very fun. i like the plunderphonic aspect. the only advice i have for you is to put real genre tags to get more attention and feedback.
sexy panning on that first song, the glitch aspect is awesome. catchy song, great hip hop instrumentals.
i don't understand the appeal. you guys are obviously talented but i couldn't really get into this at all unless i was experiencing it live on some kind of hallucinogen.
consistent delivery of carefully crafted nostalgia from this artist. i'm in love with this release. i'll get around to hearing the rest of it eventually.
gave feedback before, adore it. guitar tone is so tasty and everything is flawlessly mixed.
pretty sweet stuff although the synths sound a bit cheap and the album art is really confusing. other than that, you really know what you're doing
(not much in the mood for anything ambient or bm right now so i avoided those projects, i wouldn't be able to give any real feedback)
amazing musicians on this board who i've seen on here for a while:
weird/melancholy pop music that really hits the spot when i'm craving some catchy pops
>Very beautiful "sounds" for people with Pure Relaxation, Very Beautiful Special "Sounds That Feel Good" for Special people. Very Pure Relaxation, "Sounds Special Feel That Good" Special for Beautiful people
>organ, chamber, classical, drone
Weston Adam - Verdens oye
> drone, ambient, dungeon synth, fantasy
>Songs bout Comics and Feelin Shitty
>drone, ambient, post-rock, field recordings & stuff
also someone on reddit said something cool some of you might like
"I suspect a connection to Alan Parsons "The Raven" (1976) but can't validate this aside from using the same picture in the video and the album cover and the title of the first song beeing also a text line of the song "The Raven" - "Quoth the Raven, Nevermore".
Coincidently the producers first name is also "Alan".
Aside of that speculation, the song from Alan Parson is an example of proto post rock in a wider sense, cause he tried to use the traditional rock instrumentation in another way."
>Indie/Alternative, Not really sure.
Working on a new project.
>guitars, minimal, cozy :)
> unlistenable shit like everything else i've made in my life
i want to die
>electronic, industrial, noise
Decent stuff. I think what I really didn't like about your record was it's inconstancy. I really liked Cosine B, but then didn't get anything else like it. The other song were alright, but I thought Cosine really stood out. I know this is just a record to test the waters, but I really think you should gravitate more towards the IDM sound.
Late to the party.
Thanks to anyone for checking out my page.
just put out a new album, would like feedback
A while ago, someone linked me to this great experimental rock/indie rock/pop album on bandcamp. It was from this band from Sweden I think, all I can remember about the cover is that it had the name of the band with all their instruments spread out on it like it was a table.
It's bothering me that I can't find it, anyone know what I'm talking about?
Okay let me just say this dude is fucking awesome, both in his music and as a person.
I sent him a message with my address to ask how much shipping and stuff would be for a CD, and before I could get back to him to finalize a purchase he already sent it to me. I don't even have a Paypal! +Rec +Krew
>alternative, post-hardcore, hardcore, punk rock, screamo/skramz
I've had most of this on my hard drive for a few months now but I got into an emo revival phase and sort of abandoned it. A friend of mine died a few weeks ago and all of a sudden finishing it felt like the right thing to do. I'm not gonna try and claim it's fantastic or groundbreaking, or even really that good, but I'm pretty happy with it, I guess.
It's like Touche Amore or La Dispute, but worse, so if you're into that...
Any and all comments, criticism, or advice appreciated. This is my first time working as a solo effort and everything like that.
>Alternative R&B, Electronic, Ambient, Dark R&B, Hip-Hop influences
Just released my newest EP "absent" hope you'd give it a listen. It's FREE to download.~~~
